What has impressed me most is that HOA Start does not simply provide software and leave the association to figure everything out. The White-Glove onboarding and concierge service have been especially valuable to our volunteer Board. The HOA Start team has been responsive, patient, professional, and willing to work closely with us as we developed our new Bishops Court website, organized community information and governing documents, established our member directory, and prepared for online payments and electronic forms. The platform brings information, communication, financial tools, and website management together in one convenient location and provides excellent value for a self-managed HOA. #### Cons Because HOA Start offers so many features and customization options, the initial setup and learning process can take some time, particularly when transitioning years of HOA information and procedures into one system. However, the Whit-Glove onboarding and excellent support have made that process significantly easier. They reached out several times over the start up experience and made sure that I had all of the help I needed to get started. The platform has way more capability than what we need currently for our smaller HOA, but has a lot of value to offer and we are excited to start using some of the more broad features it offers. It is excellent for the public website piece as well as the private portal that members only can log into view their dues and violations. Our HOA is on the Starter package, yet this is feature rich with the ability to manage our members, post and expose HOA documents, ACH payments, calendars and the flexibility to create additional webpages as needed. The modern user experience provides our HOA a fresh new look. The fast response from our Onboarding Support Specialist, [SENSITIVE CONTENT], is amazing! He was able to provide some great technical work-arounds for me to create some very nice web pages. I looked closely at the other competition before choosing HOA Start in terms of functionality for the price for our HOA since we are a smaller community. It was a no brainer that HOA Start was the clear Leader in terms of their Web Designs with the features, ease of use and support! #### Cons Because HOA Start is so feature-rich and everything is configurable, there is alot of functionality in this product. I am an IT professional where I needed to reach out to the Support team for clarification on a couple items, like the Households feature for example. Two things that can be improved: 1) making HOA Start mobile enabled (not just viewing website on mobile device), 2) email blast as part of the Starter package. #### Reasons for choosing HOA Start I liked the features and look/feel that HOA Start offered. At Pinehurst #6, our association has been on HOAStart for about a year and it has completely transformed the operational management of our membership. We have an extremely large membership base of around 1500 active households and were apprehensive of the adoption levels but have been pleasantly surprised since our launch in Jan. Within 45 days this year we have surpassed our last year’s online channel payment receipts which in itself is a testament to the ease of use of the application. Transitioning from an excel based system to HOAStart has made our membership management activities so much more palatable. Broadly speaking, we have found the application to be purpose-built platform with a highly intuitive use factor. These in my opinion, are its greatest assets. Walking through our journey with HOAStart we found [sensitive content hidden] and [sensitive content hidden] extremely helpful in articulating the features and functionality of the software without being "pushy". The on-boarding process was a breeze with Jazmin who stepped through this with our team. Chase has been extremely easy to work with. A noteworthy point is the HOAStart team are highly responsive. During the onboarding process Jazmin would respond within minutes at times. The response time from the support desk is also low leading to an expeditious resolution process. Overall, we have been very happy with our choice picking HOAStart. As a SaaS solution it offers a strong technology foundation to service our membership base and grow it further. Only good things to say. I like that they gave me a trial period to evaluate. That helped our decision. Their templates, widgets, etc are fully configurable where you can put together a decent website without having to code!! #### Cons I would like the ability to define my own templates. You have to use an HOAstart template. However, they give you plenty to work with. #### Reasons for choosing HOA Start They have a great array of options. Their reservation of amenities is really great. Support from HOA Start during setup as well as with ongoing questions is quick, straight forward and always helpful. The company continues to add new features to enable our board to do it job better. #### Cons The tagging system allowing database segmentation to enable commmunication with portions of our HOA's population is cumbersome. Streamlining this feature to enable a quick way to communicate wwith residents on a single street, for example, would be helpful. #### Reasons for choosing HOA Start Economics, simplicity of use, solid interface and the ability to customize options. #### Reasons for switching to HOA Start The management company went out of business, we decided to self manage and wanted to reate a website and means to communicate with our members. #### Vendor response We truly appreciate you taking the time to provide honest feedback on your experience with our software, and the team. HOA Start has their own modern, mobile friendly website builder. Other competitors in the industry were expecting us to use Weebly or Wordpress as an afterthought, and there’s no integration. Their custom forms creator allows us to have unlimited forms for collecting member data. Also, being able to collect money for events and monthly dues for vendors has stopped us from having to chase people down. #### Cons We’d love to see some AI built into this software that would allow us to intelligently respond to member requests, and handle some approval process. #### Reasons for choosing HOA Start We knew we had to get off of managing members through excel sheets and Facebook.
