Replicon’s TimeBill solution, part of the Time Intelligence Platform, gives professional service organizations the ability to track time spent by consultants on specific tasks and projects and analyze profit margins by project, practice and client.

Replicon TimeBill helps streamline the billing process by centralizing project time tracking. Projects managers can forecast project revenues and staffing needs; anticipate resource needs and make decisions on hiring, training, and temporary staffing. Replicon TimeBill allows users to gain visibility into the pipeline of projects and consultant availability, and use previous projects as benchmarks to make pricing decisions.

Best Time Tracking Software

I would highly recommend this software.

Pros

I am a General Manager for 2 Not-for-profits, tracking my time is very important. My volunteers want to be sure that my time is equally spent, I spend less than 15 minutes per day completing the time tracking software, and I produce a beautiful report twice a month for my volunteers to review. It is so easy. Replicon support assisted me with customizing a report, so only the info required is shared. It is the perfect software for what I do.

Cons

I cannot think of any, if I want to do something different like track time in lieu.... it took a Replicon tech about 1/2 hour ro add it to portfolio and create an independant report. There are not any current cons for me.

Highly recommend this system overall.

Pros

This system is easy to use, allows for custom and preset charge codes. Things like holidays can be preprogrammed, but custom codes for special project can be added at any point. We also use Replicon to put in expense reports and get 2 tiers of approvals for expense through the system as well. They have recently added a good mobile feature as well for people who are at a customer site all day.
Allows for notes each day for time charged, as well as reasons for any hours that may change.

Cons

Mobile Application for time card requires you to download another app on your phone. You can also go through web on your phone, but the website loses its formatting and its is a bit challenging to do on your phone.
Maybe it is how we set ours up, but any leave you take pops up as holiday and you need to select PTO from the drop-down, I wish it was the opposite.

In summary this product is working very well for me . Operating a service business with employees on one or several job sites in a day Replicon helps me keep track of the time worked at each site with time punches and GPS, and photo verification for each staff person, as well as tracking time spent on each site. This allows me to track time at each site and valuate my "job cost "and time allocated for each site.

Pros

very simple to use once you are set up for your needs. The various reports that can be set up are an asset to managment of staff time and job cost reports.

Cons

minor hangups at times, always resolved by tech..

Cons

Severely lacking in customer service, knowledge of their own product, and responsiveness. We experienced multiple missed deadlines, poor or absent communication, and extreme delays from the Replicon team that caused us to look elsewhere.

Helps the manager manages the employees.It is a very helpful tool for employers to allocation projects and for the allocation of cost. Cons

The only thing I don't like are some of the support team are hard to understand. And another thing I don't like is the hourly employee have to post their time to the timesheet that should happen automatically.

I use Replicon daily for tracking time spent on projects within our organization. Our CFO sets up the projects and the employees log-in as users. The software is user friendly with pull-down menu's of auto-populated information.

Pros

The software is user friendly and fool-proof. As a user, their are very few ways to mess up the data.

Cons

The user experience is terrible. Trying to navigate simple tasks like setting up a new user is difficult and frustrating. The service is probably the worst though. I have had several negative experiences with their support staff who's communication skills are sub-par.

Recommendations

I wouldn't bother. There are way better services out there I am sure.

Very robust as it integrates time and expenses with projects. Users seem to like it and have made comments regarding its ease of use. Data integrity seems to be great (which was causing us issues with the system we used before this). It also contains the necessary DCAA components, which is critical for us as a Government contractor. The implementation team was very professional and available as needed to address initial start-up questions.

Likes Least

The administrative side of the product can be somewhat complicated due to the integrated nature of all of the data. It requires a pretty good understanding of what data resides on what admin screens. After awhile, it's not that big of a deal, but it does take some time to learn initially. Pricing is a little higher than some of the other options, although I guess you get what you pay for.

Recommendations

Be sure to take some time using it before offering the evaluation. The devil is always in the details.

I can access with a smartphone. It's generally easy to set up, there are lots of reports, and it's very flexible. I can disable projects and users as needed, and it's easy to set up for projects and users.

Sometimes it is difficult to determine why users may not be able to do certain things in Replicon, because there are so many things that can cause issues.

Recommendations

Make sure you know your objectives in using the software, what you are trying to achieve and know how you want to be able to be able to use the software once it is set up.

It has a clean, simple interface. It's easy to quickly generate reports summarizing hours burned to date by a project. It allows you to use a single interface for tracking hours, expenses, and time off.

Likes Least

It may be a browser compatibility issue (I'm using Chrome), but the interface seems to lose connection every 10 minutes or so, requiring me to log back in. I also wish that the reports could be generated directly to PDF, instead of a poorly-formatted Excel spreadsheet.

Recommendations

This is a relatively bare-bones web interface, but it works tremendously well for our small company. If you're thinking about using Replicon, I'd recommend giving it a test drive first to ensure you are satisfied with the user interface and how it generates hours reports.

It met our company's needs by providing an accessible online tool (computer and mobile phones) to quickly capture time worked on projects; it allows our employees to differentiate time worked on billable projects vs. overhead, etc. Replicon's TimeAttend quickly produces reports that show paid time off (used and available), overview of hours worked each pay period by employee, etc.

Pros

I have no complaints about Replicon's TimeAttend. It's SO VERY easy to use, that I could have taught myself! However, there is a "Help" link to learn more about it if I wish. Replicon allows me to enter my hours worked on a daily basis, approve/submit once per pay period, and see when my manager has approved my time work. It also allows me to request vacation with very little effort. I can request less than a full day, and opt to add a reason. It permits me to request multiple days off with one effort -- unfortunately, not all Time & Attendance systems provide that option even if two vacation days are consecutive. Replicon also provided us a brief "trial" that permitted me to test it to see firsthand the ease of use, how easy it was to provide the approval as a supervisor, submit my own time worked, etc.

It's intuitive, easy to use, and you can pretty much adapt it to any workflow. They also have easy to configure features. The setup and service people make you go, wow.

This is definitely a time saver for both my self and my staff.

Pros

It is easy to use and the technical support is outstanding. I implemented the software in 3 weeks for 16 employees and I received excellent support during this time. 24/7. My staff has had no trouble with the system and enjoy clocking in and seeing their hours worked by mobile device.

Cons

I wished there was a way to pay for service yearly on an average number of employees who work. There are times when an employee only works one day during a three month period and I am billed for the entire time.

I currently only use a small portion of the Replicon package at this stage and haven't had any issues yet. When I do have any problems they are always minimal and easily solved via the helpdesk chat box.

Pros

We recently migrated to the latest version and as I'm not technologically savvy I was worried about learning new things. However, I've found it very user-friendly and the migration team were always there to hold my hand throughout. I have needed to use the Help Desk chat box a few times for various questions and have always found them prompt, friendly and very efficient. They make my life easier! Thank you.

Expenses through the Replicon app is quick! Overall, both app and website, expenses are easy to follow. Multiple combined entries such as for per-diem has been good. Expenses has been accurate, being consulting firm, we have been using it routinely.

I have not experienced something that I like least. I wish I could do mass cleanup with ease but I am sure I just do not know the full functionality of the program.

Ease of scheduling taking less time to do it. Able to fine tune our cost structure due to the instant knowledge of the daily labour cost of a project

Pros

The ease of report generation allows us to track our labour cost per project much closer than we ever have. Scheduling 300 people, and replacing people on the schedule, is much easier than our previous spreadsheet method.

Cons

The implementation process was extremely frustrating and took much longer than it should. In tow separate implementations, the project manager changed part way through the process. The project managers don't appear to be very knowledgeable about the client needs. For example, we had to do all of the research for holiday pay rules by province. This is something that should be baked into the system. For expense reporting, we had to do the research for the sales tax formulas. We would also prefer paying on a monthly subscription basis as we do with most other software, however Replicon requires an annual payment up front.

I was at the implementation of the Replicon, we are using Timehseet modul (with Payroll, Invoicing(, Expense modul Time off modul). We are using it for collectiong monthly timesheet hours and send it to our customers for the approval, we are using it for invoicing to the clinets, for preparation of the reports for salaries, for stimualtions that our consultants get based on the invoiced hours they wrote in the Replicon. Ozur consultants are also managing their expenses in Replicon, where me as Project office manager approved them in I see, what we have to invoice also to the clinets. Our consultants also carry in their time off, which we are also managing entirely through Replicon. Our Management are Supervisors and they are approving timesheets weekly from their consultants. Replicon really helped us managing and improving the visibility over the company work, budgeting and efficiency. I am also preparing monthly the profitabilit reports for our projects that we are managing, through different reports that I get from Replicon.

Pros

It covers most of the things we need as a company in our business, that we are efficient.

Cons

When I want to put some hours of our consultants from one project to another after it was already invoiced, I have to delete these invoice, so I can open timesheet and put hours on some other project, because the consultant made a mistake when he/she was writing hours in it.

Advice to Others

Maybe there could be one of the reports, where all the parameters could be included, just one. Because now it depends, which report template you choose, so you get just some of the parameters that are on the invoice. One reports could have all the parameters included.

Roc installed Replicon in July 2014 - we currently use it in 2 countries (4 Offices) - it is very easy for the staff to use and produces great reports

I would advise that the buyer ascertain exactly what they need before setting Replicon up - it's a very responsive system and they really need to know the outcome they need - As with all systems if it is not set up properly then it will fail - remember Lady Lovelace's words penned in 1840 " the Difference Machine can only do what it is told to do!"

Be best thing about Replicon was the implementation team. They were prompt and knew the system well. The functionality of the mobile app is very lacking. Increased functionality of the mobile app or cloud clock would increase the usability.

There also needs to be additional sorting functions from within the schedule, team, payroll and reports tabs. There are often times I find myself wanting custom fields but they are very difficult to sort by.

Custom fields pose a problem for reports as well.

Advice to Others

Fully understand the capabilities or lack of before moving forward with the product. It is extremely important to get clear answers on anything you must of the software do for you before you move forward.
