A7 IoB by Alpha7 is a cloud-based reporting solution designed to cater to industries such as e-commerce, professional services, digital marketing and more. It is a self-service digital workspace that helps organizations manage business data. A7 IoB enables organizations to perform financial as well as marketing function.

Users can pull data from websites and other business applications into a single workspace. The solution can pull data from various data sources including Xero, Google Analytics and more. Users can choose or create their own key performance indicators (KPI). With data visualization functionality, users can present data and visualize their business’s performance.   

With A7 IoB, users can get a real-time view into sales, products and preferences of their e-commerce businesses. Also, for professional services, users can analyze the revenue and cost per employee.

The solution offers services on a per month per user subscription basis. Support is provided via a knowledge base, online help desk and over the phone.

A really excellent reporting dashboard add-on for Xero users.

I get information from Xero, Google Analytics and CSV files presented to me in many ways that Xero and GA do not offer. The KPIs and dashboard are really well thought out, are pleasing to the eye (well, maybe just a touch too much orange!), but more importantly, CONVEY the information I want to know about my business quickly. That, after all, is what good data visualisation is all about. Given it's currently free and takes literally 2-3 minutes to set up, and cannot see any drawbacks here at all! If you use Xero, then I can tell you you have absolutely nothing to lose by giving it a go. I told my accountant about this, and he has customers that have Xero but don't actually use it themselves (because he does all the book-keeping for them). This would be perfect for those customers - they can have a mobile dashboard wherever they go and instantly see the state of their business. I look forward to seeing what other applications they will bring data from in the future.

Pros

VERY fast and simple to set up. The KPIs and visualisations are really good. It shows me information about my business in many ways that Xero does not (e.g. Top 10 customers, etc).
Price - the plan I'm trialling is free, but their paid plans don't cost much at all.
I can bring in data from Xero, Google Analytics and CSV files (apparently, more connectors are planned).

Cons

Just a few niggles:-
I wish there was more than one colour scheme - it appears Orange REALLY IS the new black..!
I have more than one website (actually, a subdomain) - it would be good to be able to connect to more than one Google Analytics source.
Some of the visualisations 'glitch' depending on the data. To be fair, I'd probably have the same problem with another reporting tool. It happens when the data descriptions are very long. I haven't reported this issue yet. I did have an initial problem connecting to Xero, but their technical support fixed it quickly and efficiently, which is pleasantly surprising for a free app!

Great tool for effective management of data and doing business reports

I save a lot of time by using A7 IoB®. Collecting my data is no longer a hassle, and doing my business reporting is now quicker and more effective. This makes it a very efficient way for me to track my business performance and improve it.

Pros

A7 IoB® is simple to use and by being able to connect different data sources and build my own dashboards to display my data, I save a tremendous amount of time when I am consolidating my data for business reporting. There are even dashboards and KPIs that are ready to be used on A7 IoB®. I used to spend days collating data and creating reports to monitor my business performance every month. By using A7 IoB®, this whole process now takes minutes. The team also responds timely and is on hand to help me with using A7 IoB® to meet my business needs and goals.

Cons

It may take some time to do the initial setup if you want to create your own key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards.
