#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 3/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 3/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

Grafana gives the ability to produce beautiful data visualizations that offer realtime insights into the data set s thanks to its rich collection of graphs and visuals. It supports connectivity with numerous data sources like excel, csv, SQL etc. The created dashboards are opened in web browser that gives great opportunity to share and present on network operation centre main screen. The dashboards developed are scalable and flexible.

#### Cons

In the start it takes little bit of effort to come up with a visualization that you need to develop there on its fairly easy and scalable.

#### Reasons for switching to Grafana

Power BI gives limited functionality to share the dashboards, and owing to IT policies restrictions to not use the cloud for sensitive data, Grafana offered good options to share locally on company LAN network.

### Metrics + Visualization + Alerts = Bliss

We were looking to have multiple monitoring targets with good visualization to pipe out for both classical notifications and visualization. I can't say enough about the awesome visualizations; makes it so easy to demonstrate across teams when things are good (heart symbol), or when things are bad (giant spikes pushing over your happiness thresholds; dashed tolerance lines).

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

I love the customizable dashboards with the ability to zero in on specific time frames. The alert settings can be adjusted, the data sources can be customized, and the notifications can be customized. It's a very flexible tool and is open source.

#### Cons

The downside of having something so customizable is that you need to invest some time to get it to produce what you're looking for. It's worth the investment, but know ahead of time that it is a significant investment. Aside from setting up the data in and alerts out (and configuring the limits, etc.), you also need a storage solution if you want to keep a historical record; but this isn't super necessary since your data sources likely have storage solutions. Still, it would be nice to have a record of Grafana since that is where you've invested the time and congregated the data.

### One of the best analytics and visualization tools that every team should have

We deployed Grafana so we could get insights on all of our environments as well as alerts when something goes wrong. So far it has been doing great and we are planning to develop dashboards for other teams in the company.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 3/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Although dashboard creation might be difficult at first, once you get to know Grafana, creating pretty and useful dashboards is quick and easy. Being open source is also a great characteristic Grafana is easy to integrate with all the other tools and services your team might have, such as Slack, SQL databases, Elasticsearch databases, etc... Also, the alert monitoring feature is very useful, powerful and easy to configure

#### Cons

Grafana is a very complete but complex tool. The initial configuration is complex and cumbersome. Dashboard creation has a steep learning curve (although very short) and the creation of more complex dashboards requires knowledge of JSON. Also, when Grafana can get slow, specially when you try to render a lot of data at the same time (for example, months of 1s granular data)

#### Reasons for choosing Grafana

We needed to display data, with free software, from different sources other than Elasticsearch and Grafana allowed us to do this in an easier and user-friendly way

Grafana has been a reliable part of my day-to-day workflow. I use it regularly to monitor services, investigate production issues, review logs, and verify system health after deployments or configuration changes. The dashboards are also responsive and make it much easier to spot problems than reading raw logs alone.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Grafana has become one of the tools I use most when troubleshooting production issues. The dashboards make it easy to monitor services, check latency, inspect logs, and quickly understand what's happening across different components. I like that everything is in one place, so I can move from a high-level dashboard to specific logs without switching between multiple tools.

#### Cons

There are a lot of dashboards and options, so it can take some time to learn where everything lives. Some dashboards are also very specific to a team's setup, so new users may need a little guidance before they become productive.
