Does your organization have an employee engagement problem?

This is a constant fear for human resources (HR) professionals and unfortunately, according to our research, your answer is most likely “yes.”

To help you understand this issue, we created a detailed employee engagement infographic that shows you what things in the workplace they value most in order to stay happy and motivated (see below).

The Impact of Employee Disengagement

Gallup estimates that only 32 percent of employees in the U.S. are engaged, meaning they’re “involved in, enthusiastic about and committed to their work and workplace.”

Reasons for poor engagement vary, but the solutions that HR often uses to try and motivate folks—ping pong tables, company-sponsored happy hours, skateboard ramps—rarely, if ever, do the trick.

The result? U.S. businesses lose anywhere from $450 to $550 billion in lost productivity every year.

The solution may lie in dedicated HR software: Software Advice surveyed 200 disengaged employees to learn what factors would help them become more engaged, and identify how HR software can help improve on these factors.
