  • “Compulink Software is all inclusive for my current needs – a combined PM and EHR.”
  • “I like that you can auto-populate ‘positives’ and that you can forward exam findings from last visit.”

Cons

  • “Poor integration with DICOM devices and systems.”
  • “Their eprescribe function is woefully out of date, and their ICD 10 codes are incomplete. They are putting almost no money into keeping the system up to date and it really shows.”
  • “Creating a diagnosis and plan and making additions and adjustments to those can be cumbersome.”

Pros

  • “The dashboard, shortcuts and reporting are some of our best features in InSync. We also like that the system is customizable and we have been able to enhance some of our documentation.”
  • “On the EHR side, the customization of the platform, particularly the Encounter Notes has been the best feature.”
  • “Being able to tailor it to our patient population with integration of review of systems, quick check-boxes and so many scales has streamlined our documentation and improved efficiency.”

Cons

  • “Actually, very little can be completed in this application in bulk, which is very frustrating and time consuming. Moreover, you cannot download a client’s entire chart at once.”
  • “The reports are plentiful, but almost too many options. It has been somewhat challenging to find the right reports to measure productivity.”
  • “I have not found a quick/simple way to resend a telehealth link (by receptionist) to a client if they can’t find their previously sent link.”

Pros

  • “Prescribing app is fantastic – can send refills or new prescriptions easily from the phone, and also see any signed notes if you have questions to consult before prescribing.”
  • “I love the way you can actually chat with someone online rather than have to call and wait for hours before someone finally picks up the phone.”
  • “It’s so easy to navigate and chart. I like that it is customizable. I like being able to work from home too.”

Cons

  • “Notes – many dropdowns, and hard to scroll between drop downs, rather than being broken up into sections on the side bar that you can easily click through.”
  • “The appointments are not color coded. I can’t glance at the schedule and see when I have a new patient, I have to read every appointment.”
  • “When entering Pt’s info in the demographics, it would be useful to have a suggestion tool pulling from pt’s MPI in Artworks, to save time of typing it all.”

Cons

  • “Drug databases, though present, could be expanded to include adverse reactions, interactions, and hepatic and renal toxicities.”
  • “I wish it had a special set up for antenatal visits and gynecology.”

  • “This software allows medical professionals to easily track and access patient’s charts.”

  • “They (Epic) constantly monitor performance, DR/BC availability, and uptime and tell you *exactly* how you should configure your environment.”

Cons

  • “Orders can be difficult to read or find what you expect in the right place. “Expand all” should be default cause there can be a lot of hidden information!”
  • “The horrible color themes and lack of customization therein.”
  • “The inconsistency in customizability — there’s a “wrench icon” practically everywhere, which allows you to tweak certain settings.”

  • “Patient engagement features were great, such as automatically notifying patients that prescriptions were sent to the pharmacy and calling for appointment reminders from the schedule.”

Cons

  • “The progress notes are semi-prepopulated, which could lead to information getting into the note that you did not intend to.”
  • “Reporting on clinical data is not good at all. It’s very difficult to search the database and get accurate results on labs/medical history/diagnosis/etc.”

  • “Secondary claims that need to be sent to insurance for some reason never go automatically. I am not sure what exactly I am doing wrong or if that is just how it is.”
  • “Sometimes the database structure makes it difficult to access the particular information one wants at a given time. It takes a lot of knowledge to understand the right process.”

Cons

  • “Unable to put in an automatic reminder to patients to book a follow up appointment one year later.”

  • “The system currently lacks the ability to verify insurance eligibility for Medicare and Medicaid patients.”

Learn more about Software Advice FrontRunners

To come up with this list, we looked at all the products that were placed in our medical FrontRunners reports released over the first half of 2021 (January 2021 to June 2021). Then we ranked the products based on the number of reports each appeared in.

For qualification, each product must have been featured in at least three of the following categories: EMR, mental health, telemedicine, medical billing, patient scheduling. In the event that two or more products were featured in an equal number of software categories, we listed them alphabetically.

We relied on Software Advice’s FrontRunners data to create this report. To create our FrontRunners reports, we consider recent, published user reviews for individual software products in order to score and rank them.

The data we collect for FrontRunners reports falls within a set time frame and is not updated after publication. For that reason, FrontRunners reports should be interpreted as a snapshot of reviews data.
