Exceptional! Streamlined gallery workflow + Increased online sales

Artcloud has allowed us to streamline internal workflow, track & bring sales to fruition (in-person and online), expand e-commerce and web efforts. Their platform has been instrumental in positioning the gallery well for COVID-era changes.

PROS

I have been working with ArtCloud since 2013. We transferred a mid-size gallery from a Bento database to Artcloud with little conflict. Their team's approach is forward-thinking and they are constantly adding new features to the platform. Inventory management, client relationship management, and branded invoicing/messaging are all handled with ease. Great sales reporting features. Lead tracking and dashboard status is a huge help for the sales team. User management also easy--have created accounts for higher-level employees to temporary interns, changing access permissions accordingly. In 2020 we implemented their Artcloud API with a custom Wordpress site with great results--huge reduction in data entry redundancies for the staff and web sales increased 83% from previous year (e-commerce sales + website leads that closed). Excellent support, managing issues and open to feature suggestions.

CONS

Not much. Perhaps more flexibility in tracking inventory-to-sale for marketing purposes and flexibility in further tailoring branded materials (wall labels, invoices, tearsheets, etc).

Artcloud's fee structure was affordable and scalable, especially compared to more established brands, used widely in the fine art industry. Their team's energy, knowledge, and enthusiasm for constantly evolving their technology was also a huge factor. We wanted a platform that would grow and stay competitive with the ever-changing landscape.

Upgraded my gallery

The customer service has been exceptional from initial contact through to connecting my domain/website and now using it on a daily basis. Everything is elegant and well-designed.

PROS

Our website is stunning! People are blown away by how beautiful and easy to navigate it is. We love the ease with which we can enter and manage the information that previously took multiple spreadsheets, documents and applications to achieve. We feel like we've been given the gift of extra hours in our days!

CONS

We regularly produce events such as small concerts, workshops, retreats etc. We sell tickets or seats to these, and currently have to classify and treat them the same as selling artwork. This is confusing for customers, and it would be nice to have an additional category or product type that would accommodate things like this.

We were managing everything using multiple spreadsheets and Word Documents in conjunction with Square and Weebly. There was a lot of room for error and duplication of work. Art Cloud Services

Although the system is good until the support issues are resolved, I don't recommend you do business with them. Unless you are willing to pay for their website services. Maybe this is the problem; they are trying to push their web development team, resulting in a lack of support for regular accounts. And the support person is excellent for the job; she manages very well to talk a lot without saying anything other than underlying rude messages.

PROS

The inventory management is excellent and easy to use.

CONS

Customer service does not exist in this company, although they offer customer service. They have two levels of service Pro and regular. Ours is a regular account that only receives support by email. The people in that position about a year ago were excellent. This team is going down the hill now. The person in customer service is very rude. You get answers that bottom line only to prove how not smart you are; you end with more questions than answers. I exchanged eleven emails but never got a straight answer. This has happened two times already. My third experience was before Christmas when I needed to add pages to my website. I was told there was a "system bug," I cannot add new pages. All the plans that were made for the season had to be canceled them.

Good looking, high functioning

A business that listens to it's customers, brings in change as quickly as possible and is there to promote the businesses it works with. We truly feel like partners, which, we never did with competitor brands.

PROS

Ease of starting and the user-friendly nature of the dashboard. Upgrades make sense and follow the same clean approach of the base system.

CONS

As a UK gallery, we have a specific need to work tax slightly differently so the tax function doesn't work well for us. That said, we have a work around which is not labour intensive and works perfectly.

Reason for choosing ArtCloud

Price to function analysis proved ArtCloud to be superior. We tried ArtLogic but found the system to be glitchy, aimed at the secondary rather than primary market and overpriced for the functionality we could use.

Reasons for switching to ArtCloud

Superior product aimed at our market with much better useability and easy to train new staff to use.

Artcloud is a game changer

Our gallery has been open since 1990, and we have been using Artcloud for five years now and it was a game changer for us. It has increased our efficiency by leaps and bounds, and made us a much stronger company overall.

PROS

Artcloud has a very active development cycle, so there are always new features being added. I love the back end of their system as I find it easy to use and generally pleasing to the eye. I've used some of their competitors, and I feel like many are behind the user experience and aesthetic curve. But aesthetics aren't the most important thing; it's about what the software can do for you. And, Artcloud delivers on that front. The features that have helped us are too numerous to list, but I can put it this way, we've had several employees move on to different careers since we started using Artcloud, and we haven't had to replace them. That's because Artcloud does so much! They even recently added integration to 1st Dibs, which was a huge plus for us. We consider Artcloud an integral part of our team and I highly recommend them to any of our gallerist friends.

CONS

I don't have any cons for this software because they have such a responsive team. Any technical issues are handled right away and with their constant/active development any needed features are often added, within reason, of course.

Reasons for switching to ArtCloud

At the time, Masterpiece didn't have a responsive enough developmental cycle, and it was too buggy.

ArtCloud's platform is a great fit for any gallery looking to grow their sales

PROS

We love how easy the product is and how response ArtCloud's support team is. They listen to us when we have feedback and often times implement that feedback into new features. We've been with them for over 5 years and can't imagine running our gallery without their platform.

CONS

There really isn't anything we don't like.

We choose ArtCloud over ArtLogic because they are located in the US and not in the UK. Also we found that ArtCloud's interface was much more intuitive and easy to use than ArtLogic's

ArtCloud Recommendation from a Studio Artist

When I decided to revamp my website to include an e-commerce capability, I joined ArtCloud approximately a year ago.I discovered that I was utilizing numerous software programs for functions like email contacts and campaigns, invoicing, inventory administration, and many more, but with ArtCloud, everything would be housed under one roof.During my shift to a new web presence, I found the ArtCloud personnel to be very patient and helpful.For a more complex and professional collection of art-related platforms, I heartily recommend using ArtCloud.

Having several software packages under one roof--e-commerce, e-mail contacts, inventory management, business forms, etc.

CONS

I find it difficult to manipulate some of the software, but the support team is very helpful.

ArtCloud will transform your business

I've had a great experience with ArtCloud. The team was all too willing to get on zoom calls while I was designing my website, and they are very responsive to feature requests. In general, the support is excellent, which was (and still is) very important to me in the ever-changing art market.

PROS

I had previously been using a spreadsheet to track art which was highly ineffective. ArtCloud is easy to use and allows me to know where the art is at all times, create quicklists for galleries and clients, and build a website based on my inventory list. Database design is still important so that you can easily retrieve your art but once that is accomplished, ArtCloud takes care of everything else!

CONS

There is no drag and drop on web pages to easily arrange your art as it is done via quicklists.

We LOVE ArtCloud

Prior to ArtCloud, our inventory software, website, client contact list, email marketing, and invoicing were all separated and took a lot of time to keep updated. Now all of those things are housed in one platform that is incredibly easy to use, saving so much time– time that we can use to focus on other areas of the business. The ArtCloud team is fantastic to work with. They are friendly, professional, knowledgable, and quick to help with anything we have needed. The transition and data migration process was simple and we are excited to use the platform to its full potential to help grow our business.

PROS

It's difficult to choose just a few favorite things about ArtCloud. The administrative work we used to dread is now streamlined and enjoyable because of ArtCloud's ease of use and myriad features that all function together. We are truly on cloud nine with ArtCloud.

CONS

Switching our systems over to ArtCloud was very simple and the transition was smooth. It's great that the team is constantly developing improved features and integrations. I am excited for the email marketing to become more robust with enhanced analytics.

Best in the game

PROS

ArtCloud is the best in art gallery management. I've been with the company since nearly their inception, have believed in the software and watched in grow over my tenure with three different galleries. From contact management, invoicing to website hosting, ArtCloud has it all and is constantly improving. They are very responsive to inquiries and customer support.

CONS

At times there are features I would like implemented more quickly but I understand as a software company they are thinking about all their customers. They are very receptive to development ideas and have launched several things I have suggested.

Masterpiece was such a headache, especially when I was using it as a locally hosted database.

Many pros, some cons, overall our best choice for inventory and website

ArtCloud's customer service is excellent and they always try to solve the problems that arise. The software is constantly being worked on, which is nice in general, although sometimes constant changes make our staff weary. I think the important features of the software - inventory, sales, client database, website - work well, they save time, and they integrate with each other perfectly - no more double data entry or maintaining multiple spreadsheets.

PROS

We moved from a system of tracking our inventory in spreadsheets, creating invoices in another spreadsheet, manually updating a separate website, and tracking contacts in Outlook. It was a lot of work. With ArtCloud, all those pieces are integrated and speak to each other. We make a change in one place, and it updates everywhere immediately. The amount of staff time this saves is huge. ArtCloud is easy enough to use that all our staff can use it, including remotely (which was big during 2020). When ArtCloud released their own website builder, this was also a big deal for us, as we were feeling weary of constantly updating websites due to technology changes (from MS Builder, to Wordpress, to custom built). Having all these functions in one place is amazing.

CONS

In some ways, I'm finding ArtCloud becoming too customizable and bulky. Certain features are becoming a complex maze of toggles and tweaks and don't operate intuitively. The website builder is too much work, in my opinion, when I just want to drag and drop elements and have them look decent out of the box. Now I find myself having to tweak padding and margins on every single element, and I still can never get it looking totally normal. But having the website builder integrated with our inventory system is, overall, a benefit.

Amazing Art Gallery Software

Phenomenal. We've been using it for over a year and everyone in our business, from owners down to employees, love using it. Their support is top-notch and the software is continually getting better and better. I did a ton of research before switching our software and everything pointed to artcld being by far the best option for our company. It has lived up to it.

PROS

This software has changed our business. We have three locations and this gives us a fully cloud-based inventory and point of sales program that is integrated for all three locations. We can access our entire inventory system from any computer or phone. Transferring inventory from one location to another is very easy. Creating tear sheets and custom lists for collectors is a breeze. Tracking sales by artist and client is very simple. The entire software is very intuitive and professional. Frankly it makes our lives easier and makes us look more professional to our collectors. Everything is easy to set up. We have different tax rates for each location and artcld handles this well. We can also customize tax rates directly on an invoice if the piece is being shipped or delivered. Adding items to an invoice is easy, adding inventory is easy (they even have a bulk uploader and can help with bulk image uploads too), creating clients is easy and sales reporting is great. It has a CRM built into it, so you can set reminders to follow up with clients and track activity per client. It has a read receipt built into its internal email software, so you can see if your emails have been delivered to collectors and if they've been opened. Their customer support is amazing. They're always working to improve the software and taking input from users on ways to make it better. It is a fixed rate paid monthly with unlimited locations and users.

CONS

They only integrate with Stripe for credit card processing, so we use a separate processor with better rates and manually enter payments in. I think Stripe can only link to one bank account, and we use separate accounts for our different locations, so that doesn't work for us. Their web integration looks great, but the only way to purchase through the website is through their marketplace, which also requires Stripe, so we maintain a separate website. The android app never works as well as the iPhone app. For galleries it's well worth the money, but the cost for individual artists to use the software is a little high, especially if you add in website integration, so our artists haven't switched to it yet. Their accounting and reporting keeps getting better, but it still doesn't match up exactly with how we report and track.

Fabulous & Efficient System Perfectly Suited for Art Galleries

Artcloud is awesome. I recommend 100%.

I can't say enough good things about this company. For starters, Artcloud's team and staff are knowledgeable, responsive, and truly dedicated to their clients. One time they assisted us over a holiday weekend when we were pressed to meet the launch date for our new website. They went above and beyond to make sure all went smoothly-- and were polite, friendly, and professional through the entire process. They take all of our requests and questions seriously; nothing is overlooked. And again, they are so polite and friendly! Their sunny personality really makes a difference. The Artcloud program is perfectly tailored to a gallery's needs. It is our go-to platform for nearly all aspects of our business, including communicating with clients, contact database, inventory management, and our website. It's so nice to have everything in one place, so there is less redundancy and errors. The program itself is very efficient: Artcloud introduces new features to streamline processes, and removes features that are superfluous or clunky. The interface is sleek, intuitive, and user-friendly, which helps us keep our data clean and organized. Training new employees on Artcloud is a breeze.

CONS

Artcloud is still in the process of being finessed and perfected to suit its purpose, so there are hiccups from time to time. But the team is always available and responsive when we're having an issue. I really feel like I have a direct line to their staff, which is more than I could ever ask for in a software company.

ArtCloud has been very responsive to our suggestions regarding services and adapting to our needs. I can easily start a conversation with a new or existing customer whether in person or through our website and make a sale in an instant or through a dialogue over the course of multiple emails, phone calls, or visits. Through using the website and the interactive app, I have access to all of the information about the the artists and their artwork. I am then able to provide the information to clients and artists with very easily.

PROS

ArtCloud makes it easy to upload images and create inventory pieces that help us clearly show the aspects of paintings and sculptures when customers cannot be physically in our gallery. A lot of industries are moving towards internet and cloud based facilitation, but when it comes to the gallery experience nothing beats an in person visit. ArtCloud allows us recap and follow up on visits, promote new artwork and shows, while collecting information from our clients with ease.

CONS

Sometimes when new updates are implemented, it actually adds to the amount of clicks and extra pages to sort through. At times, this makes previously simple procedures more time consuming. What's good for one may not always be good for all.

Absolutely wonderful. The team is a dream come true. They are so helpful and timely. [SENSITIVE CONTENT] is incredible.

PROS

One on one contact from the beginning in setting everything up was amazing. Having access to the team on the chat function is also great. The design aesthetic is lovely. Customization is a a bonus. Having the inventory system and website on the same platform is so helpful and saves us a lot of time.

CONS

More features could be added on the accounting side of things.

Very friendly team, knowledgeable, personable, and helpful. The Artcloud staff having experience working in art galleries is also an added bonus. It really helps us streamline discussions, actions, and outcomes. Integrated inventory system and website makes things so much easier for our team and saves us time so we can focus on other tasks.

Reasons for switching to ArtCloud

Artgalleria did not have the functionality and integration we were looking for. They also came back a number of times with extra charges for work and wanted to charge us for accessing our information, client lists, etc. The time difference was also difficult to work with.

Superb customer service

PROS

I opened my gallery in April 2022. I was not sure what website/POS platform to use. I asked a colleague what site she used with her gallery and she recommended ArtCloud. I am tech challenged! ArtCloud was our best decision in opening this gallery. Everything a gallery needs is in this platform. And I mean everything! Including wall tags, Mailchimp capabilities, POS, inventory…everything one needs for a gallery. The staff helped me set up our site on 2 occasions. Recently I wanted to enhance our home page. Like I said I am tech challenged and couldn’t make the changes I wanted. This was my issue not ArtCloud. However the staff was more than gracious and accommodating to my needs and helped me with this page at no cost. The staff is there for you when you need help! The features of this platform go beyond art galleries. Any business with inventory and POS can succeed with this platform. I want to thank the staff of ArtCloud for everything! I highly recommend them.

Great Value!

Great! I think it is a good value for what they offer, and it's allowed me to run my gallery smoothly from the minute I started it. We went from doing $300 a month, to almost $250,000 in a year and it has helped us immensely staying organized and efficient.

PROS

I love how integrated everything is, the inventory, website and their marketplace. Their marketplace is really great because our collectors can access all of our work (if we choose,) but our website can be curated with select pieces and an option to then see all the works. I also like have another platform for art buyers to browse, and ArtCld has been working on marketing that platform as well, and we've seen an uptick in traffic. Their customer service is also excellent, and very open to suggestions.

CONS

The mobile app is unusable when it comes to invoicing. I really wish we could use the mobile app more frequently, but I have to use the website instead when I'm on my phone or iPad. The website design isn't intuitive, or super flexible. This area could use the most room for improvement in my mind.

I don't remember the other alternatives, but the cost was the prohibiting factor, and the ArtCld marketplace was a big driving force for me to chose them.

Excellent Experience All Around with ArtCloud

PROS

We started using ArtCloud in 2020 and couldn't imagine doing business without it! It's increased our business and productivity and the features are so easy to use. If we have any issues or questions, their team has always responded quickly and is extremely helpful. We worked closely with their website developer, [sensitive content hidden], and she was dream to work with! She designed a beautiful website and was receptive to our vision while recommending key features that made the site even better than we could have imagined. We're so excited to launch it! Thanks to all at ArtCloud, especially [sensitive content hidden] :) !

CONS

Overall it's been a great experience, but their website builder doesn't allow items to be ordered easily, so that's been a little cumbersome to navigate.

We love ArtCloud

Overall experience has been fantastic, the platform is wonderful to use and has definitely improved our business. The ArtCloud team is amazing, in particular,[SENSITIVE CONTENT], who has a deep understanding of the software and is always prompt to hep with our questions. We would highly recommend ArtCloud.

PROS

ArtCloud is a fantastic and easy platform to use, once you have learnt the basics, and we have loved using it over the past year. There are many fantastic tools and abilities to utilise within the program, and we feel like there is much more to learn and discover. The customer service has been amazing, the attentive team is always on hand to help. The improvements to our website and ability to click and pay have been two of our highlights.

CONS

- Ability to edit the look of invoice and COA could be improved. - Processing of lawaways/deposits could be improved. - Virtual installation on website could be tweaked. - We haven't quite been able to create specific client groups as desired, we think this could be improved. - The updates are great, and part of the improvement of the platform; but sometimes can be frustrating to re-learn processes!

Art Cloud is the best CMS for Art Galleries

This CMS has brought our Gallery to the next level with customer experience. We have an app, full service website, inquiry and marketing portal, support management, POS, etc.

PROS

I love their responsiveness to support inquiries and their customer relationship. They have a team of all stars who are so helpful and friendly. You feel like they are part of your team and really care. I hope they never lose this as they expand because they are certainly the best Gallery CMS in the market.

CONS

I really cant identify anything that I am unhappy with to be honest. Their integrations and user friendly CMS is extremely efficient and impactful

Reasons for switching to ArtCloud

Because Art Systems did not have POS capabilities. This is the best switch I ever done.

Coming from Web Builder with No Coding Experience

The customer representative I talked to, [SENSITIVE CONTENT], was a godsend. She almost replied within 10 minutes of every business hour and helped troubleshoot all the website building and database formation. The customer support team really makes this ArtCloud software shine. Sometimes it can be a handful to navigate, but they really make it up by being super responsive.

PROS

Website and database buildup integrated, while providing customizable input. Great even for small starting up galleries and businesses.

CONS

UI/US definitely needs more improvement, website functions may need more customizable elements available & errors may need fixing.

ArtCloud for Galleries is the easy button

We have used ArtCloud for over 8 years. ArtCloud's interest in our needs started at the very beginning and continues through this day. Their feedback and response is nearly immediate. They actually care about what we need, sadly this is rare in business relationships. I cannot imagine being in the art gallery business and not have ArtCloud as an ally.

PROS

Our gallery is the quintessential small business; there are two of us who do everything. I handle marketing (and everything else), the [sensitive content hidden] handles business and everything else. ArtCloud provides THE solution for inventory, artist, contact and WEBSITE design and updates in one place for a very friendly price point.

CONS

The things I don't like are so nit-picky I cannot think of them easily.

ArtCloud Is An Essential Art Gallery Tool

ArtCloud makes it easy for us to notify clients of new arrivals, update our website daily, all while seamlessly syncing together to make these tasks easier for our staff. ArtCloud is extremely responsive to customer service requests, encourages customer suggestions to enhance their overall site performance, and is a pleasure to work with.

PROS

ArtCloud provides our gallery with a system for managing our inventory, running sales, implementing a website, and communicating directly with our customers. ArtCloud has streamlined all of these services into one shiny package that's easy to use, straight to the point, and generally customizable depending on your individual gallery needs.

CONS

I cannot think of any Cons about ArtCloud. It is an essential service used in our gallery.

Gallery Express was outdated and limited in its capabilities.

Studio E Gallery is a champion for ArtCloud

We've been ArtCloud since very early on and have helped them grow their business as they helped us grow ours. So when we say we are strong advocates of their platform, we mean it.

PROS

ArtCloud is an easy to use, easy to integrate all-in-one service that handles your inventory, payments, accounting, marketing, website and more. There isn't a competitor on the market that even comes close.

CONS

All companies have room for improvement. I'd say that for the price vs their competitors they have the shortest list of improvements. Things like a more robust ios app, or some additional accounting tools. But the good news is, is that's all in the pipeline and their fabulous customer service reps are always happy to help.

Reasons for switching to ArtCloud

Spinnsoft couldn't offer a cloud solution and got trapped in the limitations of its outdated coding.

Thank you ArtCloud!

Wonderful customer service and ArtCloud team. Very responsive and positive.

PROS

ArtCloud centralized my database and I can now monitor inventory, invoices, contacts and artwork interests all in one place. I love being able to one-click print artist bios, tear sheets, and certificates of authenticity. ArtCloud has made my business much more efficient! The website is also streamlined and attractive. ArtCloud aims at empowering the user, which is valued added to the experience of interfacing with my gallery's website.

CONS

Two things have been tricky for me - first, discovering the system would not take dashes in inventory numbers AFTER uploading and listing the bulk of my inventory. That created a major redo. The fonts and spacing in the artist bio sections are sometimes inconsistent.

Good look and excellent customer service.
