Growing in the Digital World
My overall experience with this eCommerce platform has been quite positive, with some challenges and areas for improvement. The highlight has been the increased visibility my business has gained since I started using it. There has definitely been an increase in customer attention and interest towards my page, which has been crucial for the growth of my sales.
PROSSince I started using this eCommerce platform, I have noticed a significant increase in my page visibility, which has been a really positive change. I feel more connected to my clients and see growth in my business.
CONSWhat I liked least about this e-commerce platform is the actual cost, which turned out to be higher than what was initially indicated to me. The 10% commission that was initially mentioned appeared to increase over time, creating some uncertainty and discontent regarding the clarity of the pricing structure.

Used to be great but lack of focus recently is making the platform everyday less interesting
Originally we were raving about BN and very happy about the design, the platform and the cost. But over last 2 years, it is clear the focus on florist is not there anymore (I even think they now outsourced their support), POS was not updated despite clear issues. So it is a bit frozen in time. Great product compared to FTD and the other bloodsucking dinosaurs. But I am wondering whether there is not another platform designed by florists for florists that will steal the show, we are actively looking to change.
PROSWe loved the pricing schedule, the website design and the ability to manage catalog ourselves. We loved the tech team at the beginning as they were very responsive and agile. ZIP-based delivery charges
CONSThe lack of customization is getting more and more of an issue. The POSand reporting have not been upgraded in 2 years and we fear they will be frozen as is despite all the flaws. No customizable holiday pricing (flat increase/decrease across the board for period of time), no customizable catalog based on dates, it is in or out. Marketing seems to be mostly in LA/SFO and NY area. All customers from BN were based in these cities (we are Houston-based).
Reasons for switching to BloomNation
FTD (and before Teleflora and 1-800) are bloodsucking entities, very expensive and frankly enemies to florists, so that is the obvious,We developed our websiute with Yahoo Small Business which had awesome features (like ZIP-based delivery fees) but with time was never updated and was cumbersome to update. They got sold and resold and with it support vanished and issues arise (got locked out of my own website) so did not trust them anymore. BN offered both website and POS hence the switch

Dishonest from the get go!
I was so happy to join Bloomnation and the onboarding process was so smooth. They do not give you all the information up front. My partnership with them barely showed up on my radar and they want to charge $200 a month for a basic website. I called and cancelled my subscription but was told I could still keep my website and just use them to do my CC processing. That was not true at all. They are keeping my money that I worked hard for to pay for the remainder of my contract....Its time that you train everyone in every department to know their job and to communicate with the client.
PROSNothing. They were convincing to get you to sign up.
CONSLack of up front knowledge. I had to figure everything out by myself when I noticed things weren't working.

Bloomnation is a great help
I know that my page is getting noticed more with bloomnation which is a huge plus!
PROSI like that I'm not forced to pay a monthly fee. I was told over the phone that there would only be a 10% commission but it does seem higher than that. I like the look and feel of the website and that there is a florist to florist wire out available.
CONSThe price was higher than promised. I would like a little more control of the website design. The catalog is very slow in uploading new products at times.
Reasons for switching to BloomNation
The offer of a percentage being taken out rather than a monthly fee helped me as my business grew. Paying a monthly fee with very little traffic to my site was not the way for my business to start out! This was extremely helpful to grow. Bloomnation seemed to understand what it was like to be a florist and modernized the industry.

Love this E-commerce site
We are situated in an aging community. I am using my Bloom Nation website as a catalog for funeral and Celebration of Life services. The site is offered for browsing when clients call regarding particular funerals. We also have a private room set up specifically for families to spend time making special decisions on floral selections, when planning there funeral. We feature a large screen monitor with the website showing our own design ideas for there perusal. This is extremely helpful, and when set up carefully, it is a very easy selling tool.
PROSAllows each florist to feature our own designs, along with stock photos, if desired. Very easy to add your own images. Reasonably priced, considering what the site does for the retail floral shop. I considered all aspects, such as ease of building the site the way I desire it to look to my customer. Bloom Nation pays the fees for credit card use, they keep us very visible on the internet, they reach out to my previous customers with reminders at holidays, change my header seasonally, allow me to create offers, and watch my back when orders are placed. This program is basically free of charge to get started, which appealed to me, as well as no timed contract. A reasonable percentage is taken from each order. So the more you sell, the more they make. It works in tandem because they work extra hard for us. My customers have shared comments such as " your website is easy to navigate, and represents your style". This is invaluable! I, too appreciate the young aspect of floral creativity and Bloom Nation's insight is "spot on" to the next generation of floral customers. PS: a former Teleflora website owner. Jump in, you won't be sorry!
CONSCustomer service is a bit slow on making changes if I need support. However, this really isn't a software issue. Also, should your community only have one zip code, such as mine, the software does not allow a way to up-charge on farther away and rural route destinations, for delivery fees.
