Brink POS Software

Brink POS by Brink Software is a cloud-based restaurant management solution specifically designed for fast casual and quick service chains. The solution delivers the key functionality required by restaurant owners, managers, kitchen and staff to track sales, enter in-store and online orders, implement customer loyalty programs and manage kitchen operations.

Brink POS is suitable for multi-location restaurants. It runs on the local workstation and backs up to the data center in real time. Users can run a wide array of loyalty programs and supports reward programs based on points scored, number of visits, item base, lottery style and bonus events. Users can generate ad-hoc reports for one or multiple locations to keep track of real-time business performance.

The configuration and reporting feature can be accessed via any web browser and provides an integrated solution for the restaurant industry. Interested buyers can avail this solution on a subscription-based pricing model.

We purchased Brink just before the sale to ParTech. Agent sold us on the dream of a single source of truth in our data that could be easily accessed via API and a robust cloud based solution that removes the BOH computer from our stores.

Alas, the dream is much better than reality. Almost 2 years in, the API continues to lag what were originally told it would do and rollout of new features is both slow and incomplete.

The service we receive is poor as well. The tiered support levels are ineffective and Brink fails time and again to root cause solve issues that make it difficult for us to transact our business.

To be honest, we are beginning the hunt for alternative POS systems. Brink should be the system we use forever, but the features offered and the lack of development and support make it a hard system to stay with. Happy to speak more about this in person.

Pros

The idea that was originally sold to us. Cloud based with a truly open and useful API.

Cons

The support, the lack of fully developed features, the API that continues to disallow useful integrations

Advice to Others

Some real work needs to occur on both features and on support if you want to compete in the POS world at scale. The idea of the software is significantly better than the real experience of having it.
