Clover POS software

Clover is an integrated point-of-sale (POS) system with custom hardware designed for several types of retailers. The program is available in both web-based and server-based deployment versions and offers a mobile POS option in addition to countertop units.

With Clover, businesses are able to run thousands of transactions, access reports on a merchant dashboard remotely and manage their inventory through a single solution. Clover replaces cash registers, terminals, receipt printers, label printers and barcode scanners. It allows businesses to read Chip and PIN cards, swipe credit cards and process Apple Pay and other mobile payment apps. Additionally, the program integrates with QuickBooks, includes a time clock to track clock-in and clock-outs and manages purchase orders and vendor maintenance.

With Clover's dashboard, businesses can visualize their key data metrics in real-time. Other features include accounting, order tracking, menu editing and data reporting.

Supported Operating System(s):
Web browser (OS agnostic) , Windows 10

The reality is Clover Has one of the higher processing rates out of a huge pool of processing systems. Unfortunately, I thought it was a good idea when I started to process credit cards. Every statement I received I couldn't believe how much I was paying in fees. At least I had the common sense to call and get price quotes from other businesses. I am saving THOUSANDS a year after switching. It seems your paying a premium for a brand, nothing they offer is unusual for a processing system. Most other companies are comparable and have a better processing fee. The processing company I went with was Central Payment (thier customer service will work with you too!)

    Pros

Easy to set up and integrate, fast processing speed, more apps than you will ever use. Unfortunately, that's all the good that comes out of this system

    Cons

POOR customer service, Locked in for years (even if your company closes), THEY ARE NOT COST EFFECTIVE!

My experience with Clover was pretty unpleasant. When initially signing up I asked for a specific list of fees. The rep told me what to expect, but left a lot out. Sticking with Square.

    Pros

For a small business the concept here is good - an easy to use POS for little companies. It's well laid out and pretty easy to use.

    Cons

Mystery fees that you get charged that the representatives are not up front about when you sign up for Clover. Read every word of the agreement very carefully and get everything in writing from the sales rep or you could stand to lose a lot of money!

sleek and connects to third party booking software, but acts up constantly with difficult support staff to resolve.

    Pros

the clover pos syncs with our booking software, so that is a plus. it has a sleek design as well. it also prompts the client to tip, so we don't have to awkwardly ask.

    Cons

freezes up about 10% of the time so we have to revert to a backup POS device. support is very frustrating when something goes wrong also... such a process to resolve issues.

    Good product!

    Pros

I use this product since 2 years and for small business it is very good specially to process payments easy way. You can manage different users and assign roles, see transactions, refunds, sales, reporting, among others.

    Cons

Using Clover POS you need Internet connection in order to process payments, otherwise you won't be able to hold or take any money from your customer.

Overall still a great value on this products investment

    Pros

Definitely a wide variety of options for categorizing our inventory, organizing and pricing our items, and categorizing our sales.

    Cons

I assume the reason is that since it’s such a well known POS company, it receives a lot of call and a large staff, so maybe they aren’t always the most knowdgable, patient, or helpful. But if you learn it’s system fast, you won’t really need them.

To be fair with the major issues like outages or system updates they help you right away, it’s usually the small and intricate details that they have trouble helping on

I've had it crash on me a few times over the course of a few months. Not a major inconvenience but to reboot you must be on the customer side which can delay a transaction majorly.

Best POS system I've ever used. Its easy for an owner to set up, staff to use and clients to pay.

I loved that it was easy for me to set it up and for the staff to use efficiently. It would even text, print or email the receipt to the client. As a business owner I also liked that I could print out my weekly earnings as well see it online.

    Pros

It is so easy to set up online and add (mostly) free apps to help run your business. We bought our clover but their is some places that will let you finance it. For the price of the system I found it worth the money because it saved me time and it was easy for the staff and the clients to use. Even when the internet would go out it would take payments and then process them once it came back on. It was easy for me to set up categories so the staff could check people out fast and didn't have to look for a item too long. This system definitely saves time

    Cons

The clover is just like a cellphone, if you drop it, it will break and you will have to replace it. They don't offer any kind of insurance to help replace just the screen. The receipt paper is expensive to buy though clover but you can find it on others sites for much cheaper. Some apps to help run certain businesses were a little expensive like to add your logo to the receipt was extra. Overall depending on your business some of the Clover apps to make the system easier for your staff can get pricy.

Instant and easy to use POS that anyone can learn in a matter of minutes.

    Pros

Easy to use with features that can improve inventory / customer efficiency / reordering.
Software was very affordable as well.

    Cons

Software has some apps that do not communicate with Clover efficiently. One such app INVOICEASAP is the only billing app that Clover offers and their two inventories do not communicate automatically with each other. There are also lots of small fees that can add up monthly.

    lo l

    Pros

It did not work for us at all, and I'm surprised it is advertised that it can work in a bar because it cannot and is not built or designed to do so.

    Cons

BofA recommended the system, we got it in, but trying to force it to create Tabs for patrons (when it is not designed with Tabs) simply didn't work. No, "Tables" are not "Tabs". It could not do our promotions properly, the "work-around" was cumbersome to try to use. And there were too many "work-arounds" that the system became useless. What should be a keystroke on the touch screen became 4 or 5 keystrokes every time, over and over. Useless for a bar or nightclub

Unfortunately I paid for the system up front, the salesman took 6 weeks to come out to do the training, when he could not get the system to work for us, Clover would not take it back because they have a 30 day return policy and would not make the exception for a very busy sales-trainer. So my clover mini sits in a box, unused, and fully paid, collecting literal and digital dust.

My favorite part about our Clover POS system is that it has a lot of apps created by other users which give extra features to us. Also it's very time-efficient and has us very happy.

    Makes accepting credit cards easy

    Pros

Not locked in with a credit card prepossessing company. There are multiple ways to use the terminal. I use the Clover Go terminal, it accepts swipes, chips, self entry, and tap (ApplePay, etc) payments. The app is easy to use and there is a companion app for tracking various aspects of your business.

    Cons

I had to pay for the terminal. The app is a little clunky and it forces you to change your password with some frequency.

    Pros

I love how my cloverflex is portable has everything i need in one. It connects to Wi-Fi or hotspot, takes payments when its offline, it also has apps, camera, and prints receipts. i love that payments are there the next day because its connected to my business bank account. I received the clover flex through my bank

    Cons

You really have to be careful and make sure you put the clover flex properly aligned on the charging station or it won't charge, and do wish they can add some type of menu for your services and products because so far what i have seen is that you enter the total amount for the sales transaction but you have to use a separate software maybe computer or phone for invoice or itemized receipt.
