Clover POS Software


Clover is an integrated point-of-sale (POS) system with custom hardware designed for several types of retailers. The program is available in both web-based and server-based deployment versions and offers a mobile POS option in addition to countertop units.

With Clover, businesses are able to run thousands of transactions, access reports on a merchant dashboard remotely and manage their inventory through a single solution. Clover replaces cash registers, terminals, receipt printers, label printers and barcode scanners. It allows businesses to read Chip and PIN cards, swipe credit cards and process Apple Pay and other mobile payment apps. Additionally, the program integrates with QuickBooks, includes a time clock to track clock-in and clock-outs and manages purchase orders and vendor maintenance.

With Clover's dashboard, businesses can visualize their key data metrics in real-time. Other features include accounting, order tracking, menu editing and data reporting.

Best POS for Starting Out their Businesses

Pros

It is one of the easiest POS to set up. I highly recommend Clover for those who are starting out. They made things easier because they have combined the POS System to its Hardware which is excellent.

Cons

The initial cost of Clover is somewhat costly to some because it needs to be upfront before you can try it.

Powerful Tool

Pros

Clover is user friendly, convenient and a powerful tool to manage employee and customer, check revenues and reports. It helps me monitor everything that gives me other time for personal things which made me love it more.

Cons

Payment First Data options may be a disadvantage for some but if you are used to it, it will not be an issue.

Great Tools!

Pros

Clover POS meet my needs. I cannot go wrong for choosing Clover. I would highly recommend Clover Pos to everyone. I bet my name for this Clover Point of sale. Such a great software.

Clover POS Great product!

Pros

This is a great start for everyone who want to start their own business like me. I already purchase for twice now. It saves my day every after my working hours done. This is pretty great.

Cons

I have no issues in purchasing this Brilliant POS. Tho it's my second purchase. This is really good. Their services is super highly recommended. It saves time. Thanks a lot.

Pros

Popular for bad reasons

Pros

Clover has a mobile app operating system and develops apps for many business needs. It has a familiar interface that many cashiers are familiar with, and it can be learned very easily.

Cons

You need to switch apps for doing different tasks. At a point of sale, this may reduce overall speed for high volume processes. If your business decides to use another POS in the future, clover locks you in by forcing you to pay the rest of the plan and devices you may have signed up for in the beginning. Customer service treats you like debt collectors.

Does what it needs as a rewards app

Pros

I use Clover to reap rewards from restaurants and small businesses in the area. I really like how you can present your phone to the clerk and they will automatically check you in for bonus points.

Cons

I think it's very similar to other rewards apps (i.e. FiveStars). Not much of a difference in terms of its interface.

Great Product that is easy to use

Pros

My brother in law opened up a new business and started using Clover POS. I visited him for just a couple of hours to eat some pizza, and after looking at the Clover POS I was confident enough in the product that I was able to key an order without any problems. It's that easy.

Cons

To be honest I think it's a great product. Fees are low, the product works well, and it is easy to learn.

The versatility that allows absolute customization with a wide variety of apps that are easily integrated.

Cons

Subscription prices for each app. it can quickly add up to a few hundred bucks and I wasn't happy with their poor customer service. Hard to get help when you need it.

Cons

not having someone to actually assist with training for the operation of the system. Someone from the bank came for the initial setup but, from there it was trial and error.

So many apps to help you run your business right at your finger tips for a fair price or free. Good customer report.

Cons

The contract time. Should be a month to month and should be allowed to cancel with no penalty. There was nothing else I disliked about it.

love love love it!!!

Pros

i like being able to change my prices when ever i need it and without anyones help. i can just login and do any changes i like. it also saves everything to the cloud so nothing will be lost.

Cons

after using it for almost one year now, it got a little bit slow but cleaning the old files does the job.

BE WARNED.

The reality is Clover Has one of the higher processing rates out of a huge pool of processing systems. Unfortunately, I thought it was a good idea when I started to process credit cards. Every statement I received I couldn't believe how much I was paying in fees. At least I had the common sense to call and get price quotes from other businesses. I am saving THOUSANDS a year after switching. It seems your paying a premium for a brand, nothing they offer is unusual for a processing system. Most other companies are comparable and have a better processing fee. The processing company I went with was Central Payment (thier customer service will work with you too!)

Pros

Easy to set up and integrate, fast processing speed, more apps than you will ever use. Unfortunately, that's all the good that comes out of this system

Cons

POOR customer service, Locked in for years (even if your company closes), THEY ARE NOT COST EFFECTIVE!

The software is ok, but the hidden fees will get you!

My experience with Clover was pretty unpleasant. When initially signing up I asked for a specific list of fees. The rep told me what to expect, but left a lot out. Sticking with Square.

Pros

For a small business the concept here is good - an easy to use POS for little companies. It's well laid out and pretty easy to use.

Cons

Mystery fees that you get charged that the representatives are not up front about when you sign up for Clover. Read every word of the agreement very carefully and get everything in writing from the sales rep or you could stand to lose a lot of money!

syncs with booker

sleek and connects to third party booking software, but acts up constantly with difficult support staff to resolve.

Pros

the clover pos syncs with our booking software, so that is a plus. it has a sleek design as well. it also prompts the client to tip, so we don't have to awkwardly ask.

Cons

freezes up about 10% of the time so we have to revert to a backup POS device. support is very frustrating when something goes wrong also... such a process to resolve issues.

Payments easy way!

Good product!

Pros

I use this product since 2 years and for small business it is very good specially to process payments easy way. You can manage different users and assign roles, see transactions, refunds, sales, reporting, among others.

Cons

Using Clover POS you need Internet connection in order to process payments, otherwise you won't be able to hold or take any money from your customer.
