Jewel Mate (formerly Jewels 2000) software is the business management system preferred by more than 2,500 jewelry retailers and wholesalers. We currently recommend this system for all-sized jewelry vendors.


Jewel Mate’s unique tools, such as the Quick POS for easy transactions, inventory barcoding and imaging, and built-in reporting, enable sales associates and managers to increase efficiency and productivity without special computer knowledge or experience.

Integrated customer relationship management (CRM) features assist users in marketing to customers and tracking customer birthdays, anniversaries, referrals, relationships, call-logs, and wish lists. In addition, the Task Manager ensures that activities such as follow-up calls don’t fall by the wayside.

Logic Mate also provides custom website design services for jewelers. Each website is tailored to users' specific needs and integrated with the Jewel Mate software for easy management of inventory and e-commerce.

Logic Mate provides excellent support from a staff that has guided and educated countless other jewelry industry implementations. The system is provided as an on-premise solution that runs on Windows operating systems.

I have had this product for 12 years. We eventually accepted the shortcomings as "getting what you paid for". No more.
We are switching today.

Pros

System has an integrated accounting function which I had a requirement. It is serviceable. Or was.
They have recently changed their policy to require a support contract of $1400/year. I use 2-3 hours of support per year. It is a bad deal.
The system is functional and allows for multiple work stations but is light on reports and functionality. There are better choice for only a little more money. I’m switching.

Cons

Lousy support. I have had the software for 12 years and it is a running joke in our organization that they have never made a mistake and everything they do is flawless. We know that it will have to be “our fault” or they won’t fix it. It can take days to resolve simple issues. Always seems like they are doing us a favor just by speaking with us. Friendly customer service is not their thing.

I have been with LogicMate for over 10 years, wholesale version, and now we are upgrading to Enterprise version. I had several sessions to go through the program and I found that it has incredible reports this system offers. The reporting looks very easy and customizable to your requirements without any help. The loose diamond inventory screen and the reporting is very much detailed to search and maintain the inventory.

To me, it looks like a very powerful system and of course their service is almost flawless. The LogicMate never disappointed me on the service. I believe that we are one of the oldest users of JM 2000, and we're moving forward with Enterprise version.

I have been with Logic Mate for over 13 years and I recently upgraded to Jewel Mate 9 and I am truly amazed in the power and incredible reports this system offers. Managing and tracking employees, vendors, inventory, special orders,repairs is so easy to run yet gives me more information than I thought possible to run my business efficiently. The reporting looks like it's for a Fortune 500 company, but reads with ease and organization. The loose diamond inventory screen and the reporting is so detailed and makes tracking our 1,500 diamonds between our two locations easy.

I get daily reports emailed to me, the system will text my customers when a repair is ready, and I get an email if my nightly counts are not reconciled in the system. Jewel Mate 9 has everything a jeweler dealing in gems, loose diamonds, jewelry, custom, special order needs, and powerful reporting that will make your business stronger by making accurate decisions. Jewel Mate 9 also is connected to our web site and new inventory appears on our website and keeps track of sold products daily.

The system is powerful, but the staff and Logimate support is incredible. They are responsive, supportive and realize we are jewelers, not programmers. For over 26 years I have worked with many software companies, but none compare to the service Logimate offers.

Jewel Mate by Logic Mate is a tremendous asset to our company. The ease of use is at the top of my favorites list. The reporting capabilities allow me to order properly, run time sheets, file sales tax and a host of other reports with a click of the mouse. The integration between my website and Jewel Mate allows our website to keep growing and avoids duplication.

The customer service is top notch. I am a very demanding, impatient person and Logic Mate lives up to my high standards. They are always willing to listen to my suggestions. They utilize cutting-edge technology.

We have 17 stores that use a central server using terminal services to access the database 24/7. We wanted real-time access to our stores for all aspects, with a fully integrated platform that would increase productivity and reduce error rate. We needed robust reporting abilities with enough flexibility to format information on sales, buying and financial needs.

Before Logic Mate we had a custom software system built over 15 years using a AS400 that processed our daily sales in a batch format. Our stores weren't online in real time.

We started with JM2000 FoxPro platform in April 2005. A substantial customization was required; it took 6 months after implementation to finalize our criteria. Logic Mate's team was responsive throughout the conversion period and provided us excellent value for the final product produced.

The navigation is fairly intuitive on the POS and accounting modules. The inventory, open to buy and ordering modules are more challenging. Again the training support was was adequate to help our users.

We have doubled the size of our business with adding only 2 people and seasonal processors, which we couldn't have done without this system. This statement speaks for the software's positive impact and expense savings.

The opportunities for improvement are as follows:
-Better documentation of the software functions and navigation
-Better project management of the QC process for software development
-Better "time line" explanation of implementation and/or software development
-Better software design documentation for customization requests
-Better report options

I have to say Jewel by Logic Mate has unbelievable customer service--most of the time my rep is Steve and he tries to do whatever he can to get back to me in a timely manner as well as solve my issues--the other service representatives are just as nice and helpful, I just happen to develop a relationship with Steve! Ayano is retail jewelry business in Minnesota. Both my husband and myself have a banking background and did not know much about inventory management until we got into business. With our background, we knew that not only did we need an inventory management system but also a customer management system on which we can build the foundations of our business.

This search for the perfect system brought us to California in July 2010. Initially we reviewed three Jewelry Management Systems and based our selection on ease of use, features, and cost.

Jewel Mate Retail answered all our questions and provided much more support than we expected. Inventory management, tracking, accessing profit margins, tracing slow moving items is at the tip of our fingers. Our overall business analysis could not have been easier or more transparent.

The implementation and training took about a week and at all times, Logic Mate staff was available to answer questions and walk me through any teething issues that I faced. I purchased a POS system with the software and they ensured that everything was integrated seamlessly.

Jewel Mate is accompanied by a comprehensive guide which answers all questions. Initially we did not do layaways but when the need arose we independently learned how to manage the layaway funds by going through the guide.

In short Jewel Mate lets me do the following:

West Coast Jewelry is a high volume shipper of low price point fashion jewelry.

We needed a system that would coordinate our inventory and allow us to easily create and ship hundreds of sales orders without slowing us down. We didn't want to have to hire additional staff just because the process took longer. We worked with Roger from Logic Mate to identify steps that we wanted to eliminate in the process, and they customized a Quick Ship feature for us which is now a part of their main software. It allows us to ship thousands of items per day without slowing down our team. The barcodes on the sales orders allow us to scan out items on a sales order basis and not item by item or line by line.

The software is well laid out and well organized. We have been able to streamline a lot of our processes, and get insight into areas of the business where we had very poor analysis beforehand, such as forecasting and replenishment.

Some PROS:
Efficient, logical, ease of use, powerful. Customizing new features to accommodate your business needs.

Some CONS:
Fixes are not always tested fully. There are not enough help documents or support forums so we end up having to call to figure out how things work. It seems like there are many features that we could use but there is no manual or documentation, so unless we ask about a specific function we won't know it is there. Also, when doing high volume tasks like importing hundreds of orders or shipping 50 sales orders at once, it tends to seize up the rest of the system for our other departments. We may need a better server but it's still frustrating.

We also have a website integrated with the Jewel Mate software. The problem there is that the integration does not currently work both ways, so we can upload new items to the site (which takes a long time) but we cannot export orders from the site into the software, we have to do that manually.

In the end, as with any software program there are challenges. The question is how the company responds to the bugs or problems. I think Jewel Mate does a good job of handling our tasks. It could always be faster and of course we have a long wish list, but the company is committed not only to selling this product but also improving it along the way, and we have found great benefits in the fact that they do continue to improve on their software.

I know that if and when my business changes, Jewel Mate will be able to change with it.

We have a wholesale business and sell diamonds and jewelry. We have been using Jewel Mate for more than 8 years and I am very satisfied with the program and the company's support. It is very good for inventory and manufacturing, which includes the component for making tags. The logical layout of the screens is a plus. The number of reports and their adaptability to any requested data lookup is amazing. It seems the program is constantly being update with new and functional features. The basic functions are a breeze; sales tax, POS, inventory, etc. There are some weak areas such as the "look up" feature the runs extremely slow to the point it is really not a usable function. On the plus side I needed a link to MSWORD for the way I do appraisals and Roger's crew was able to oblige me. In all, a Great Program and well worth the purchase price and time to learn it.

This is a great system for either the start up or established jewelry store. It is easy to train new users and advanced enough for seasoned professionals.

Pros

The system is a very logical and simple system to both use and train others to use. Anything I need explained is only a phone call away. Steve is most patient in answering any questions I have and always gives answers right away either by return call or email. Very user friendly system and highly recommended.

Repair Module--wish it could work with Geller book. Wish their was an easier way to use Stuller with Logic Mate. Wish fields in customer maintenace were longer--like last name.drivers license. Wish could have a box I could check for people not to send newsletters to but to be able to keep their email on file.

Pros

Great flexibility for our business. The web interface makes updating the website a breeze. The sales and po functions are quite good once you learn some of the short cuts. Customer support is leaps and bounds over anything I've used before - great group of people!

Can be a bit cumbersome but once you learn some of the nuances its a breeze.
