They understand restaurants

The company itself is positive - I believe they are hustling hard to make a product that helps us stand out in a crowded marketplace. Their people are tremendous, showing genuine care and actively working to find solutions to difficult problems.

Pros:

Lunchbox has a team that genuinely cares about independent restaurant's success, which is a rarity in modern software. They understand a lot of the challenges that face restaurants and are actively working on creating a system that will drive more revenue into the hands of operators. Specifically I would like to call out \[sensitive content hidden\], who were the lead on our transition to their platform - they were complete professionals and their hustle was out of this world.

Cons:

Their system can be tricky to navigate until you spend a fair amount of time with it. Additionally, they have two seperate admin dashboards which can be confusing, especially when training new team members

Their people and their team truly care about independent restaurants and we felt like we would have the most support from their team.

Lunchbox is slowly turning into an industry leader for first party online ordering and it's great to have a competitor to Toast and Olo.

Support has been outstanding. The platform can have their quirks, but support needs to be great and being bale to get your answers relatively quickly.

Cons:

The opposite of the pros. At one point 1.0 was not working and support was lacking. The help desk chat box can be better. It should allow you to just move into a full screen.

Nothing. It is expensive, very hard to set up, mediocre as a platform, broke constantly in the beginning and they won't let me leave.

Cons:

This company is a disaster. Getting online ordering setup was extremely time consuming and unnecessarily complicated. Nothing worked out the gate so we spent months constantly triaging issues with that Lunchbox couldn't understand. It created chaos in our store and cost us a significant amount of business. The sales people assured us that everything we asked about was live but it turned out a lot of it was actually still in the development. 18 months later, all of those things are still "on the backlog" with no delivery timeline. These are very basic functionalities like saving favorite orders including modifications. Everyone we dealt with was inept. The original team were all fired and replaced with a new team that was at least responsive. That team has since quit or been fired. We are now trying to leave so that we can have an online ordering platform that works and the company is threatening to charge us $6k to leave early.

Go Parrot was purchased by square and we use toast so we had to change.
