Affordable & Simple Point of Sale

Our little shop manages retail sales as well as services thru this POS. It's perfect.

PROS

The product is very easy to use. Our team are not overly highly computer savvy and we are able to use it pretty much flawlessly. It's made a big difference in our operations.

CONS

I would like there to be a report to run for seeing all our accounts receivable.

Compatible software

It is a stable and reliable Point of Sale solution that we have been using for many years. Actually since the days of DOS. We have grown as a business and we are happy that Retail Plus has evolved as well.

PROS

We use Retail Plus exclusively for 7 Point of Sale stations. There are many features built into Retail Plus, such as product kits, product size matrix, customer bonus points, etc. The database structure allows us to easily integrate with our own inventory management software and our online store.

CONS

As our business evolves there will always be additional features that we would like to see in the software. Right now, we would like to have the option of setting purchase quantity limits for some products that are in short supply. Also we would like to be able to offer customers the option of receiving "green friendly" email receipts instead of printed receipts.

Compatibility with our own inventory software and very reasonable price.

Problematic

Had problems and the only support was it must be my computer. Even though its brand new. Just restore from recent back up. Yesterdays backup is no good either because its been corupt for a week. Even tho says backup succesful

PROS

It was a Local Island Company . It was easy to install.

CONS

Program Crashes all the time. Searching Items it crashes. It may work ok with a couple hundred items. I have about 3000 items and it cant deal with it.

It was a local company. I thought the support would be better.

Hello Mark, 3000 items would still be considered a fairly small inventory. Chronic problems often indicate a computer contains malware. Please run the virus scanner and remove the web browser from your point-of-sale, and avoid

Variety store - review

PROS

The software is easy to use, and easy to teach to new staff. Shortcuts with the F keys make completing transactions much quicker. If I had a touch screen monitor, it would be even better.

CONS

I don't like how this software is meant to be used with a touch screen monitor. When using the fastkeys, we must use a computer mouse, which is more time consuming. My biggest negative with this software is the inability to properly manage inventory levels when offering a "2 for" deal. For instance, we sell Monster energy at 2 for $5. I have to create my own barcode for the deal, which means the inventory for each flavour of beverage is not deducted when completing the sale. It would also be nice to have an option to change inventory numbers to a group of products all at once as opposed to individually. When you have 1000's of skews in my type of store, makes inventory management time consuming.

Best POS for the price I could fine.

I like Retail Plus enough to use it for the last 10+ years and will be using it for another 10+ years if all goes well.

PROS

We have been using Retail Plus for the last 10+ years starting with version 2.5. The best features for us are the inventory and ordering systems and of course we can not forget about the sales screen. Installed all version myself on 4 pc's, 1 main and 3 workers.

CONS

The biggest problem we have with the software is the way the program "creates a purchase order", I always pick the Supplier I want to order from but the software likes to pick the supplier with the cheapest cost, so i am constantly changing the supplier for that part back to the supplier I want to order from.

I choose Retail Plus Point Of Sale after looking at more then a dozen other products, because at the time it was the least expensive solution with the most to offer.
