    Pros

I managed a nonprofit with many volunteers who were 65+ in age, so utilizing our ipad for sales at events could be intimidating. However, they found the square app straightforward, easy and were comfortable using despite not being "tech-savvy."

    Cons

Our square fell out of the ipad a few times, causing concern because it sticks out. We were very careful with a great case, but I'm always nervous it'll get knocked out of the ipad at our events.

The Square was a little slow to ship. Keep that in mind and order it ahead of the time you actually need it.

    Pros

I love how simple and small the Square POS hardware is. I am the only employee for my business, so I don't need a whole lot, so this small hardware and easy to use software is exactly what I needed. Highly recommend for small business owners that don't need an actual register!

    Cons

I'm not crazy about the interest rate, but with all things considered - many softwares have higher rates.

    Cons

The only negative thing about the software is the price. It has a flat transaction rate, but that can add up as sales increase

Customers are happy to follow the customer display and see their charges without having to squint at the screen.

    Pros

Ease of payment for customers. Customers are generally pleasantly surprised at the ease with which they can pay without having to relinquish their credit cards.

    Cons

I am unable to discount individual items. Sometimes we just want to put the discount on one item without having to modify the item listed in the inventory.

    * The app is also great with a set of simple functional features which are easy to use

    * There is a small transaction fees which has tuned a tiny portion of customers away but i believe this is only fair for the excellent offer that they provide.

Square is the easiest POS system I've ever used. At first it was a short term solution but we have integrated it into all our retail stores.

    Pros

What I like the most about this product is the ease of use not only for our salespeople but also for the customers. We are also able to pull spreadsheets to analyze what products are more popular in different cities in the Bay Area. This helps us with our marketing efforts and allows us to stay in stock on the most popular items.

    Cons

As ridiculous as this might sound, we haven't run into any cons about this product yet. Aside from the little training and set up required, this is a great POS system for all consumer-facing retail stores.

    Square Point of Sale

Overall the Square Point of Sale system is surprisingly simple to setup and use. Sending invoices via email as well as reminders for over due bills is ridiculously easy and even fun. Square provides users with a code so they can recommend others use the application, that when used, allows both users a free period of use of the application. I would recommend anyone needing a POS system check out Square.

    Pros

Square POS is easy to setup and use in a very short time frame. They offer the Square card reader which allows both small and large businesses to accept credit cards in places that would normally not be able to provide that kind of service. Vendor and Craft fairs for instance. It not only offers easy invoicing and employee management, it also allows you to produce some reports and identify some trends.

    Cons

Hit a few snags during the initial setup stage of my business as I seemed to do things a bit out of order than I should have. Once I figured out what I missed, I was able to keep moving forward with ease. The application allows for reports and some data filtering, though it does appear to be somewhat limited. It is not a full on CRM system like the ones I am used to working with, but I don't think it is intended to be. Not really cons, just some thoughts on it.

Easy to use. No knowledge of the technical sort needed at all. Such a breeze to setup. Do not be worried when getting this software as this takes just a few minutes of your time to set up. Basic knowledge is needed but nothing that would hold anyone back that is not technical at all.. This makes taking payments such a breeze. I use it daily

    Cons

There are really no downfalls in my honest opinion. This is an easy to set up and easy to use great functioning product.

Good for the money. Not the best system, not the most expensive either.

    Pros

Easy to use, IPad can fit just about anywhere. Easy to add/remove product buttons to sell. Convenient with card reader attachments

    Cons

Internet dependent, not easy to swap to offline mode. Should have option to transfer data/sales into another platform.

    Pros

I love that I can take card payments at my small rural farm store. It allows me to make high dollar item sales that I otherwise might miss out on because customers don't always carry that much cash. I also don't have to run to the bank in town to make deposits.

    Cons

I'm a little bit wary of using the offline mode, but so far I haven't had to. I occasionally have problems getting the chip reader to connect, but I can always default to the swipe reader.

I really like the ease of use and direct deposit features.

    Pros

I really like the ease of use of the school where and how easy it is to get payment and provide a receipt also I like the fact that it’s direct deposited right into my checking account and I don’t have to worry about cashing a check or sign the back of it it just goes right into my account .

    Cons

There are no real cons I really like this feature and I really don’t have anything negative to say about using the square and I may actually even get the one that takes a chip .

I really recommend giving Square Point of Sale a try. You can pick up the card readers in most stores that carry electronics so you don't have to wait for a reader. They have some really nice paid features such as Time Tracking and even Payroll. Get Square right now, if you are still using an old register and haven't made the move to a digital POS.

    Pros

Square works on almost any platform (Windows, Android, and iOs). It's extremely intuitive and easy to use. There are tons of great features. We used the Square POS for our iPad and we were up and running in no time. We can easily check on the sales and adjust inventory from our smartphones or any web browser. Best of all, Square Point of Sale is free!

    Cons

I struggle to find any problems with Square. The only real issue is hardware support. Square POS supports a lot of hardware, but maybe not quite as much as other POS software. It's not overly basic, but it does lack some advanced features.

    Using Square for Special Events

    Value for Money
    Pros

We use square for all of our special events since it is easy to take anywhere. Sale screen is large and easy to read which is great since I have many older volunteers. If a customer has used Square previously, Square remembers their choices for receipts which speeds the process up especially if you have customers waiting. Their pricing is reasonable although not the cheapest but for our special events, it is quite handy. Also, I have had no problems with the funds going straight into our accounts.

    Cons

The Square readers working are hit or miss. Luckily I have 3 including one of the new chip readers. I have had to switch to a new reader because another one isn't working even though I may have used it on a prior occasion. Very inconsistant. Luckily they are inexpensive so I make sure I always have 2 with me at our special events.

I switched from Shopkeep POS to Square about a year ago for my small cafe/bakery. It is super easy to set up and use and affordable for the quantity of credit card sales we use.

    Cons

The way I use Square, I don't have any complaints, but I imagine there are certain limitations. I think it's a simple system that doesn't allow you too dive deep into analysis. I'm only speculating.
