Outstanding Product & Customer Service
Volante was able to get my kiosk up and running in record time. They helped me customize it with graphics and pictures of my choice. They honestly walked me through the entire process with amazing customer support and training.
PROSI love the look of the kiosk. Decor and wow factor was very important. We cater to teens who are not easy to impress and they think it’s the coolest thing ever! Aside from how it looked, I needed very specific requirements and. Planet was able to provide exactly what I wanted.
CONSInitially I was intimidated by the “back end” piece as I am very non-techie, but Volante provided excessive training in every area. Their customer support is excellent and very timely to respond!

As a new small business, cost was an issue. Volante was able to help me stay within budget. I got a product that was superior to others I looked at for a fair price with excellent value!

Software good but their covid policies poor and implementation painful
Original purchase in 2011 was excellent. Have nothing but good things to say. Used it was almost 9 years and was your biggest advocate. New version purchased in 2019 took simple processes and made them difficult, I've had my system go down a number of times and no one can explain or fix the freezing issue. I was very familiar with the use of the product after 9 years and yet install was painful and the 'Trainer ' on site that I paid was not able to solve basic issues. Then covid happened in 2020. Policy is pay your bill in full and then next time around, we'll give you a 50% credit on the bill a full year later. Great, but we're closed. I understand you have to pay your bills but your customers need help now, not a year from now and I'm legitimately not using the software. Every single one of my vendors worked with me except Volante for immediate needs.
CONSSoftware (original version) was a 10 out of 10. Software (new version) is an 8. Day to day usage is excellent but there are glitches now and programming takes twice the time. I wrote cons in overall above.
Reason for choosing Volante POS
Recommended in 2011 by Lakeshore Links. Had been happy until then with zero problems do purchased again in 2019.

Volante POS
Volante has it's advantages as well as it's disadvantages.
PROSI like the ease the cashiers have with using the different screens. I like that you can run a report from the terminal for a surprise cash drawer audit.
CONSI do not like the fact that at 11pm every night the day locks so any voids that need done can't be done.
Reasons for switching to Volante POS
We had HALO POS. That was a great POS system. When a new company took over, Volante was affiliated with them, so they switched. If I had a choice, we wouldn't have switched.

Reliable but cumbersome
It has been our POS since 2007, reliable system and support technicians have been very helpful

POS system for the modern age
It is a good product that fills a lot of our needs.
PROSWe recently took out our bookstore and replaced it with a self service shop. This allows students to come in and get supplies 100% unassisted and pay for it at the terminals.
CONSThey had a hard time integrating with our student IDs. The system is still lacking a few key features that would completely integrate it with modern technology.
