Deputy's rostering application helps businesses to create schedules that can calculate overtime and provide capabilities to schedule staff. If a team member cancels their shift, managers can send a shift request to their next available staff member and fill the shift’s space.
In addition to time/attendance and scheduling, Deputy incorporates other features that include a communication platform that creates a way to generate announcements in a single space for all employees. Mobile applications for iOS and Android devices are also offered that enable remote usage.

Some customization options regarding the flexible hours could be added as an update. But the customer service is good.

I have appreciated the customer service and response time with issues that I have run into. I love the 24hr support as well with real-time response.
can't add 'position' only training which is not an efficient way to schedule multiple employees- you have to go into each profile to access training and you have to click multiple times to get there, the lag time in accurate updating between smartphone and computer. timesheets don't always load on smartphones. Overall WAY TO MANY clicks of the mouse to get to different areas in OIS platform.I would not choose this scheduling software based on my experience thus far, less than impressed compared to other scheduling software.

This software is so simple to use and to read, I schedule people and use it for my own use and deputy makes it so easy to see where everyone is, if someone is ACTUALLY at work when they clock in because of the map feature.
it would be really good if it could automatically send emailed reminders of up coming shifts to email or something sometimes I don't even get notifications that I have a shift

I was looking for an easy to use and not too expensive scheduling software for the beginning. The more advance programs are great but we would not yet use all the features. After searching I am happy to start using Deputy. Its easy to log in. Overview is great. Information can be put in so easily. It has everything we need for the start to organize everybody.

This makes my job duties with HR so much easier! I have many more responsibilities than just HR and this definitely cuts back on my time spent entering employee hours by hand and processing schedules, etc. This allows my employees more control and keeps them more accountable for their own time, PTO requests and changing of schedules!
All very easy to set up and integrates well with my payroll software. Also has a message board that is seen by all employees which makes it easy to send information and receive confirmation that everyone has read it.
Sometimes requires too many approvals.
Take time to watch video and really understand all that it is capable of.

Easy to access on any device, tracks employee time and geo tracks. The new feed is very helpful for notifying employees across a large territory.
Nothing I can think of overall. Deputy was the best choice for use based on interface and useability of the product.

It saves me time and effort and precisely tracks my employees' time on the clock.
It seamlessly and easily ties into my accounting software (Xero). Exporting timesheets is a breeze and ALWAYS works.
I can't manually add exact break start and stop times if an employee forgets to clock out for a break. I can only add chunks of time to the time on break.

Easy scheduling and time tracking for my small company where I wear many hats. I can take care of our schedule in a small amount of time and make changes or adjustments easily.
Deputy offers flexibility and accountability. I can handle all the scheduling in minutes and the mobile app allows me to make quick check ins or adjustments.
Publishing copied shifts is a tad cumbersome but does prevent errors. I've learned to work wiith it.

I love that it's super easy to use! I love that the people you make the scheduled can put in certain times they're unavailable it makes working with their schedules so easy!
The only complaint I have is that it doesn't work well on an iPad or tablet. The software is awesome for computers and laptops but wish it was designed so that it was easy to us on an iPad

We manage there different veterinary clinics with Deputy. Love the payroll projections for the work week. We use the journal options to keep track of items for review during our performance reviews. Love love love the integration with Quickbooks and Intuit Payroll, makes life super easy!!
We have not encountered any shortcomings. We have only experience difficulty clocking in with our employees once which was a system wide issue and was resolved quickly.

Saves me time and hassle. Employees know how to use it quickly with little/no training.
Inexpensive, feature rich, and easy for me to export timesheets to our payroll provider, Gusto. It was easy to add our existing employees when we made the switch. Employees have no complaints using it for time off requests, unavailability or integrating with their calendar so they know when they're scheduled.
The manager side of the mobile app is lacking full access to make it easy to approve time off requests. Depending how I pull up the request from my phone sometimes it also shows the date as Christmas Eve from years in the past (like 2015). Hasn't been a big enough pain for me personally to be mad enough to contact them, though I should so they can tell me I'm dumb and using it wrong or fix it.

I like the ability to be able to reach personnel in timely manner. It provides contact number and the ability text and email. Scheduling shifts is easy. The clone feature is a time saver.
We had to adjust the way we built shifts. At first it would not provide a map of the location but now that feature has been added.

Able to have all my employees sign in , sign out , and break time when they work. Pull out time sheets to do our payroll efficiently now.
Easy to use. User friendly interface. A lot of features available, however we don't use all of what Deputy has to offer.
The employee can change their login time without manager's approval. I always have to check the history to change the time back to what they signed in at.

I is nice that employees can be grouped by department, or class. When its time to do payroll, the calculations are already there.
I have noticed that when someone does not sign out for their break, the calculated hours show that they did. This has caused some frustration with employees who expect to be paid for the break they did not take.

The best feature is when the software alerts other employees of an open shift. Other features that are good include the schedule copy over and porting the hours over to quick books.
I have has some issues with porting over the payroll hours to quickbooks. It sometimes does not work.

Employees can manage their own schedules, and they get text messages with schedule updates. It is easy to create different departments. We also like how it exports to our accounting software.
No cons. There is really nothing I'd change. We've been very pleased with the app. It is much better than trying to do everything on google calender like before.
