For the past 25 years, Intac International has been supplying field service, installation and construction companies with the tools they need to manage their entire business with one simple to use program.

Intac’s all-in-one solution, Wintac, includes full accounting and appointment scheduling features. It also comes with a full year of live unlimited support.

At the core of Wintac is its scheduling, dispatching and work order management module. The color-coded dispatch board allows users to drag and drop appointments, so that dispatchers can easily monitor the schedule and re-assign calls if needed.

Technicians in the field can access their schedule at any time through the Wintac web-portal. Wintac also allows businesses to easily track service contracts for each customer and equipment at every location. Know when service is due, contracts expire, as well as the entire service history on any piece of equipment with the click of a button.

Wintac also offers functionality for tracking current and potential customers, creating estimates and proposals, and managing accounting. Job costs can be broken out by inventory items, POs, and payroll.

From there, Wintac has the capabilities to generate cost and profit analysis reports. Information can be shared on internet ready smart phones, tablets, and laptops, and the system supports e-signature capture in the field.

Wintac integrates with Microsoft Office and Quickbooks.

I suggest you look at softwares like Service Fusion, HouseCall Pro, Fleetmatics WORK, Salesforce.com, Dataforma, Quickbooks Field Service Management, etc. They look current, have great integration with Google maps, automated alerting to the customers, client portals, better app functionality, much easier to use and more intuitive, multiple tabs open at once, Overall blows Wintac out of the water. When we first got Wintac it was great. But it just hasn't developed as quickly as the market has. We are considering moving to a different software.

Pros

The software has all the basic features we need like quoting, scheduling, inventory, and invoicing..

Cons

None of the features are robust, current compared to other softwares, easy to use, functional, etc. Features and bug fixes are EXTREMELY slow to come out. The software isn't available in the cloud. There can be long wait times for tech support. You cannot have multiple tabs open.

Cons

I wish the program was a little bit easier to use. It takes some time to get use to, but once you do then its easy. I also wish that i could customize the field portal, so the tech do not have to see things they dont need.

As a current user I would cautiously consider this product for purchase for new customers.

Pros

When it works its a good product for the cost. It will do almost all of your basic business operating needs.

Cons

We have been using the product for almost seven years. Ever since switching to the SQL version we have had constant problems with the program. Most recent problem is accounts payable randomly address payments to the wrong vendors without our knowledge untill we have a late payment. Support is sometimes available and thw recent fixes seem to just create more issue's and we are constantly waiting foe the next patch while chasing problems or finding work arounds. The new SQL version has been a thorn in our side and is costing us money due to all the additional labor we are having to use to go back and redo work.

Pros

The office personnel does not have to hound the service technicians to explain their handwriting on invoices anymore. Saves upwards of 40 hrs per week because of reduced duplication of entries. Works well with quick books

Cons

some searches do not always yield the same results for the same criteria. When going to some screens the placement of the cursor could be changed.

We bought the software thinking there would not be any annual fees but found that there was a substantial annual fee for software upgrades and support.

Pros

Helps organize the scheduling of staff and their assignments. The techs know where they are going so less time is wasted at shop.

Cons

There are several glitches in program. ie. every time we open up the program with a different user we have to do housekeeping before we can get into the program.

Pros

Wintac has an easy to use color coded daily dispatch board. It also has a good Web Portal for techs to use in the field and it is getting better. We enjoy excellent support from their tech services.

Cons

At work, we nicknamed it DOS123. Because that's how it feels. We had Fieldaware before that. But my boss didn't like the service at Fieldaware and also wanted to own the software and not have to pay monthly like most web based systems. That was a good intention but also a huge mistake. This switch cost so much money to our company. Which could've paid for years and years of Fieldaware service.

Pros

The idea of it. We liked the fact that we actually owned the software. But in this day and age. Web based is the way to go.

Cons

not user friendly. Feels like it's built on a 1990 platform. And if you need to work remotely away from the server. Then it's a problem. Also, having multiple branches in multiple time zone what a great problem.

This program wins out over others we've tested because it's already setup to hold all your vital customer information. It's easier to use a program that is established instead of one that forces you to customize everything yourself. Wintac is easy to use and reliable. We've looked around and we keep coming back to Wintac!

Cons

Wintac sometimes freezes up and has small glitches. We have had to rely on technical support several times over the years to get us back up and running, but they are always more than happy to help via phone, email, or live chat.

Wintac is easy to use and even after a 7 year lapse I was able to remember how to do everything without training!

Pros

It is very easy to search for customer and vendors. I don't have to fumble around trying to figure out what I am doing. It is right there!

Cons

Some times when I want to print a schedule for my tech or a purchase order it will take a while. I can't do anything else while I am waiting for it to print.

Easy dispatch board for our office staff to look at on a daily basis. We find it real easy to dispatch our techs directly from the WIP's. The field techs are able to invoice & check records easily using the Portal.

Cons

Some portal glitches. When my techs process out it sometimes deletes their time in & replaces it with the time out Some challenges searching thru records & addresses.

This software is very powerful and flexible. We started using it in November, rolled to a couple of technicians in December, and phased the rest in between January and April. We have had very little problems. The problems we do have are always related to our hardware or internet provider set up. Even in these issues, Wintac support has been extremely helpful in resolving. Accounting Links to Quick Books was a breeze once we got Wintac support online to help. There were configuration issues in Quick Books. Rather than sending us to Quick Books Support they accessed our Quick Books remotely and changed the settings that were causing our issues. They are really amazing at support.

Pros

Easy to set up. Easy to learn. Great support documentation built in. Wintac online support is really good at getting to the problem and resolving the issue quickly.

Cons

If there is a con, it is that it is not specifically built to our exact company needs. But, that kind specificity is only available if we pay to have someone build a software application proprietary and to our exact needs. That is extremely expensive and beyond the scope of what we really needed. The flexibility of Wintac more than solves these minor issues for us. The price was definitely reasonable. So, the price and flexibility make up for any lack of specific details that we may have "liked".

The program is very user friendly. It is fairly easy to learn and will help stop you from making mistakes. We rely on WINTAC to keep track of information which is vital to our company. This program helps keep accurate information for ourselves as well as our customers. We are able to send most all of our billing out via e-mail , which is a big savings to our company. There are so many tools that are available through WINTAC that we still need to learn and utilize.

There are times when it is difficult to locate a file. When trying to locate a customer by address it will not always pull information up.

The software helps organize the information very well. The customer support and assistance resolving issues is top notch. The option to export data to Microsoft Word or Excel is great.

Cons

It is not easy to use. The search functions aren't the best. The more information, the slower the system operates. Simple tasks seem to require too much time to complete. Errors are difficult to correct. Has not improved in the daily operations of the system, as now tasks take 2-3 times longer to complete than with our previous system. Have not gotten a chance to use the portal for tablets, as each attempt has caused a crash.

We are a company in the Plumbing & HVAC Industry. We switched about 2 years ago to Wintac because we felt it was what we needed to replace our old system that had problems on their server based program that when messed up we couldn't do anything about. This was actually the main reason we considered Wintac because it is based on our servers not theirs so if something messes up we can fix it. If they switch to cloud based like they are thinking it will be really hard for us to keep them with how they currently work. Wintac is pretty decent when it comes dispatching, purchase orders, and one place for all customer information but there is a lot of problems within the program too. First off it messes up a lot during the day a lot of errors and different things. We have to run housekeeping & user refreshes a lot even though they say you don't need to do that anymore with this years version. Also with all the information we have we feel like the system runs slow especially when you do searches. When you try to get a hold of customer support a lot of times they either need to return calls or when you email them rarely do we here back. Live support doesn't work very good either because they just tell you they will let their engineers know and then next update comes around & no fix for the problem. The biggest issue we have though is with the accounting features inside the program. We do not like using secondary programs like Quickbooks & we were told that the accounting within the program was pretty good but it is not. Their reports change all the time even when we have done anything like add income or expenses. Also now with their latest update invoices that have already been paid are showing back up under A/P Bills. It just isn't sufficient enough for accounting.
All in all the program could use a decent amount of work we will stick with them for awhile but if problems like this keep happening it won't be long. A lot of the things that need fixed have either been problems for the 2 years we have had the program or are problems that arise after new updates are put out but then haven't been fixed since the new update was put out. If you are considering this software I would only recommend it based off the fact it is solely on your own server you don't have to worry if their servers go down. Most other companies are ran on their server or are cloud based. If Wintac does that like they are considering I can't recommend them.

We are a small HVAC service and replacement company. We first used WINTAC in 2007. Initially it was way more than we needed. But now, ten years later we have grown into the software and all of its a features. Like any data based program, you have to " feed the beast" if you want to get something back. At first it seemed unnecessary and a waste of time to enter the smallest of details about customer, equipment, vehicles, etc. But now, I have ten years of data at my finger tips. I know my customers and their equipment. Wintac has been a valuable partner in the success of our company.

We are an HVAC company and have used the software since 2002 as our database. Last year we began using the portal which has helped our techs find important info when needed in the evening if the office is closed. we are still trying to implement the use of the portal in the field for techs full time. We have never used the accounting side,our bookkeeper prefers Quick books. The software is very easy to use and can be customized in my different fields to suit your needs. We are a flat rate company and although we use a flat rate program that is not as popular at some of the big names Wintac support was able to create an import utility that allows us to use the flat rate program we wish too. Overall we think it is a very decent software.

Wintac has been very helpful to us. We are able to do everything we need to in order to manage our business. There are some features we don't even know how to use yet because there is that much. I do have a few recommendations for constructive feedback, nothing I hate about it but there is always room for improvement. 1) The customer service team is always fantastic. Lately, however, they have been super busy. You used to be able to get someone on the line right away, but now it's more of an answering service. I would like to see them bring on more staff to accommodate their growing customer base. 2) I would really like to be able to have the dispatch board up in a separate window so I can always see where I have all of my guys, but still be able to navigate through WT. 3) With the many features of wintac, I would love to be able to see more webinars available for training. I feel like we are only scratching the surface.
It would also be neat if Wintac could integrate with gmail or Google calendar.

I love how Wintac is always asking us opinions and implementing our suggestions. Thank you for always being open to listen to our requests.

The program was not as intuitive as standard "windows" programs, but the training available was great . Wintac is very easy to operate (now) and we cannot imagine our professional life without it!

We implemented Wintac a little while ago to go paperless and streamline out billing process. Wintac is not an integrated solution but does have a limited transfer to and from QuickBooks. Tech support on average is good. All our issues have been fixed if not immediately, have been fixed in a day or so when the correct support agent is tapped to straighten out our software problems. The online support is pretty good and quite often connects to my computer to fix the problems, and usually shows me how to correct the problem I was having. Had a few problems with the Web portal, but most of the troubles have been corrected. Do use the Wintac app. It has a bug capturing signatures that support assured me would be corrected with the upcoming release.

I have to say that anything was better than our old system. Keeping that in mind the rep was very sneaky when he sold the software to me. I purchased one license and the mobile system which I did not need at first. Here is what he did not tell me that bothers me now. Every time you add another computer it is an additional 1k and up per computer if you want to use that computer separate from the first licensed computer. You can use on as many as you want but not at the same time. That is a pain in the you know what. Every time you add another computer license your support fee also goes up.How does that make any sense if you want to ask a question you re penalized for all computers. Being a small business owner every penny counts. The support center is weak and there are long hold times and uninspired help. ATTITUDE ATTITUDE ATTITUDE!!! It's easy to have when you have your customers over a barrel. I wish I could of paid one flat fee upfront for my needs. Save your money and buy something else with better service and support for a reasonable price.

When we first bought this software program, we had asked a series of questions to make sure this was the right product for us. Turns out, over a third of the questions we asked and were told this program could do, was nothing more than a flat out lie. But they could do what we asked if we paid several thousand dollars more than we had already paid, to add in these features we were told that the software already had.

We have been using this software for 2 years now, and are have nothing but problems. I am only going to list the bigger issues we have, mainly because, I¿m not writing a novel here, just a review.

-We haven¿t been able to fill our 2015 taxes so far this year, because our income and expenses from 2014 change every day. We have not been making any changes where these numbers should be changing in any way. This is an extremely serious issue, so far their tech support hasn¿t been able to tell us why this is happening.

-When we go to look up a customer, more than half the time, the customer account won¿t show up, as if there is no account at all. Then, same with when we finally do get into the account, half of the service history is just gone. Most the time the accounts will show back up, we will either need to restart the program or open on another computer and then they will be back. But we have lost a few accounts to this glitch, where they never showed back up.

-When writing checks to our vendors, I will put in the amount that needs to be paid, but once the check is written, it is for a complete different amount. This will happen about a third of the time when writing checks, and I have yet to find any reason why this is happening.

-Taxes are not updated annually. Federal taxes should be and need to be updated annually.

-There have been 11 updates to this software so far this year, each causing more problems, one of the most recent being, customer statements. Customer statements were printing the wrong amount due.

-We have to run housekeeping on this software every day. Because if we don¿t, we are more likely to lose accounts, more reporting issues, more checks incorrectly written, etc.

This software is junk. Their price makes it look good for what they say they offer, but with all these issues, it is a complete waste of money.
