Simple and effective - An improvement in your supply chain.
We're using CarrierPoint for more than 10 years now. The system has evolved a lot and is still getting new features every month. Team at CarrierPoint/Intellitrans is constantly listening to customer's suggestions and requests. If you think of something that would be nice to have they will definetely have a look at your idea and they will find a way to get you where you want to be.
PROSInterraction between CarrierPoint and our MRP is fully automated via EDI. There was also a possibility to use their own communication interface using a local database being synchronized via the web but we decided to go with EDI since we have a better control on any possible enhancement. Tendering rules are easy to set, very customizable and effective. The shipping department can easily manage their rules, no need to call IT everytime they need to change something. Communication with carriers is simple. They received either an email or an EDI communication (if they are integrated with CarrierPoint with EDI). They can accept or reject a load usine their own system sending back an EDI to CarrierPoint wich in return relay the information to our system using another EDI communication. THere is also a possiblity (for carriers that do not use a complex ERP) to use CarrierPoint's web interface to accept/reject loads, provide pickup confirmation and delivery confirmation. CarrierPoint is also integrated with Intellitrans' other system called DockMaster. It allows to manage appointments at the dock. Information between loads offered and appointments is transparent and easy to configure and use. App exist for carriers that allows drivers to confirm delivery in a click of a button. Nice feature that improves our performance tracking. Team at Intellitrans is very reactive. Everyone there is willing to hear and consider suggestions.
CONSThey have implemented a new GUI that is very nice and much more intuitive. However this UI still need to refinement since not all options from old GUI are developped. However it is very easy to switch from old interface and the new one. So some of us are using the new interface, some other prefer the old one. But both GUI can be used. App is more for carriers, not the shipper. Some development is to be done on that aspect.

Good product
software has always been in place while I worked in this department so I have nothing to compare.
PROSCustomer support is excellent, software works well 98% of time and when there is a problem customer support is quick to respond. Contacting customer support is quick and easy. timely response's to issues
CONSWhen it is not working properly, some times a challenge to correct and the inability to change ( back date a load) has caused some issues.

Administrator review
We are able to move 1,000(s) truck loads a week with minimal man power.
PROSPrioritizing bidding process. Ability to upload and attach POD documentation. Audit and Invoice features. Analytical tools.
CONSNot having full definitions for many of the setup options and capabilities of the software. Support services to answer setup option questions and best use of software too slow. Support services on the EDI side need to have better knowledge of system. Being unable to manage Carrier information within the software.

Integration was easy with our TMS and with Macropoint. Customer service worked with us to help understand where some of our processes may ave been causing issues and were ablet o implement changes quickly.
PROSThe Shipment Messages and History Log is where i spend most of my time as i help GAF customize and integrate with Penske's TMS system and Macropoint. I can easlity track the EDI flow for any order and it helps me understand were something might have went wrong or when everything is working just right.
CONSAny issue that we had such as canceled loads not sending info back to Macropoint for tracking and a couple others were resolved with the help of your IT customer service team and i really cannot complain about anything at this time.

Having to settle
It is fairly easy to use but items seem to be hidden. Once working with it a while it becomes easier.
CONSThe latest update is terrible. I don't see how it is improved, just everything moved around causing the trained comfort to be removed and have to learn new habits.

CP For My Daily Use
CarrierPoint allows me to find the best and cheapest option for coverage of loads. It cuts the work and time in half for me if i were to manually broadcast.
PROSI enjoy how quickly it responds, and how i am able to monitor the bids that are placed by carriers.
CONSThere are some glitches from time to time with the flow through of information from CP to our systems (Ryder Online and Transportation Management)

Pretty good overall. I have used other systems, and this is better in many of the areas. There are always things to improve though.
PROSIt is very user friendly. I can do most things from my phone if needed.
CONSI cannot track my own loads with ease. Also there are certain glitches that cause a mess to clean up.

Caririer point,
We mostly use it to schedule loads and to kinda have an idea of how many trucks we have per day.
PROSI love how easy it is to understand, and how easy it is to schedule.

Good info - just have to dig for it
It's fine - like the title states, the information is always there, but it is always a chore to dig for.
PROSAccurate information - if you need to know if a truck has arrived or left at a certain delivery, this software will let you know.
CONSWAY too much information displayed. Probably 10x the lines of information than necessary. Very difficult and un-intuitive how it is layed out. Could easily be updated for a cleaner view.

Good Product For Training
After getting adjusted to using it there was no issue, just overwhelming at first.
PROSThe additional profile features and track of training is nice. Its easy to stay up to date with new lessons and training you need to complete
CONSWhen I first used it, it was pretty confusing / overwhelming just because of the clustering on the opening page.
