Solid performance for most companies
The product is good. Easy to work with the information and intuitive.
PROSThis product is made for handling various modes. It is easy to use and companies can continue to extend its use and gain more value.
CONSImplementations need to improve. Many implementations have not went well and JB Hunt had a major lawsuit with Mercurygate.

MercuryGate Review
Very poor, the product feels as though it was designed by Devs inexperienced with the transportation industry and lacks automation in many areas where it should be an obvious. The amount of money spent on customizing/making this software work is astronomical. When you submit a ticket for support, at times you will receive a request for 8 hours of "Discovery", followed by a 50 hour billable quote. Not at cheap rates.
PROS- Web based - Variety of import/export options. - Ability to see underlying XML within TMS was helpful for developing "out of box" solution.
CONS- Customer support lacking knowledge of system, delaying support. - Anything not native to MG (which is a lot) is extremely expensive to pay MG to develop. - Any custom developments become available for purchase by your competition if using MG. - Many integration options broken or require extensive ($$$) work to configure. - Shady business practices, such as blaming customers for server failures or outages when root cause is determined to be due to MG. - If on a shared server, no access to lower level configuration, you must pay to have developed/implemented. - SSO option is insecure and does not support modern authentication. - No working integration with financial software. - Paid services function poorly (such as P44 integration) - Custom code is not reviewed during forced releases, potentially breaking and requiring significant cost to have them fix. - No constraints or limits defined for web service interaction, which leads to a dedicated endpoint that costs $3000 USD/month. - Lack of accountability when MG goes down (5x in 1 year) with very vague root causes provided. - Look and feel is terrible, new visual does not work properly - requests to fix required billable time. - No visibility on EDI transactions and files, status updates are applied but no troubleshooting possible. - Most of our functionality was designed in house separate from MG to accommodate automation. - Generally all work in the TMS is manually done, one page at a time, many clicks needed.

Good product but not for mid-size FTL asset companies or 3PL's.
It was very hard to get someone on the line to help with day to day issues and it's very expensive to have even the smallest thing fixed, created or altered.
PROSIt was able to do most day to day needed functions.
CONSIt was not built to use in a traditional brokerage set up. It seemed like it was best suited for an LTL platform.
Reason for choosing MercuryGate
At the time we felt it would fit the growth for the company.

Robust TMS for various types of loads, but has a bit of a learning curve.
-You can work with the vendor to have the software customized to your specifications. -Can integrate with other corporate systems.
CONS-The options are limitless....very hard to find standardization if you want to manage on premises. -The interface isn't very user friendly to begin with. Some tasks can be hidden and skipped by inexperienced users. -Requires an experienced engineer to implement, and can have lingering effects if done incorrectly. -Support is needed frequently, and is not cheap. -New interface is slow to produce search results.

If I could give support 0 stars I would
Support team is basically non-existent. I can open a ticket and not hear back for over a month and when I do its like the support person barely even looked at it and just threw in some random answer.
PROSThis software really does have a lot of functionality but its over-engineered and pretty difficult to make the customizations.
CONSHow cumbersome it is. You have to look in various places to make changes. ALSO V3 is not a mirror of legacy when it comes to functions/features.

A Synopsis of MG
i would describe it as a roller coaster. When it worked well I was happy and able to perform my job fluidly. When it did not work well I would fall into a state of overwhelming anxiety - I would liken it to fear
PROSWhat i liked most is that the software worked
CONSThe software looked old and like it needed a makeover

This TMS has the tools to quote, book, manage and invoice shipments, however is not friendly user.
What I like the most about this TMS is that when you already learn how to use it, it has all the tools available for you to update your load, to create a new one, to set up customers, get documentation need it when moving a shipment, verify claims and provide invoices.
CONSThe way it looks is not friendly for new users. You have to look for the options you want to use and sometimes there are several steps that need to be follow when you want to complete a simple action.
