A great app that will only get better

Pros:

I come from a mint background and neontra really does a great job at replacing mint in all aspects. It allows to connect to bank accounts, see the whole overview and even allows for live tracking on cryptos.

Cons:

One of the things I don't like about Neontra is the security layer that could be better. Having to login every time we open the app is not the best experience

Since mint was shutting down i looked for an alternative to their platform

Great....As long as your main account isn't NEO Financial

NEO Financial is my main institution, so it's frustrating that I can't get the app/website to download the proper information without having to delete transactions to make the balances add-up. However, the ability to view all my accounts and credit cards definitely does help managing my finances.

Pros:

I love being able to see all my accounts together. Even for the FIs that are not available, you still have the option to download the transactions from their website. The budgeting tools are very useful.

Cons:

For the financial institution NEO Financial, multiple duplicate transactions continue to appear in the account histories, despite having deleted the account and re-adding it several times. Submitting a case with support was not successful months later.

Easy to learn, affordable, works with all of my accounts, keeps me accountable in my budgets and has good flexible tools

Cons:

Account connection issues are very common, app is still obviously under development so there are often bugs, 2 factor authorization seems to mess up account linking

Pros:

Neontra's budgeting tool is incredibly intuitive, making it easy to track my expenses and stay on top of my finances. Neontra's robust security features give me peace of mind, knowing my data is protected.

Cons:

The user interface and the fact that sometimes it does not Auto categorize my credit card transactions.. The syncing with the financial institution is also frustrating but I understand that is because Canada doesn't have open banking.

Mint closed down and I'm glad I found Neontra's.

Pros:

Ability to importing transactions when real time update fail is an extremely good option. Also, the cost is quite friendly.

Cons:

Some of the bank accounts upload are not reliable to seamlessly update and usually fail, especially Cambrian and PC financials. Helpdesk are a little slow or not responsive.

Could be excellent with some continued work. Just ok for now…

I would say, so far it’s an ok replacement for Mint with room for improvement which i believe they are trying to do

Pros:

It connects with pretty much all of my accounts (except 1). The ability to create transaction rules is ok, but i feel the system should be able to learn from single changes. Also. I’ve found the responses from customer service to be timely and helpful.

Cons:

Man accounts continually need to be reconnected. I feel there needs to be a way to prevent this as it was in mint prior to its closure.

Good Basic Budgeting App

Pros:

I really enjoy being able to link my bank accounts and credit cards directly into the app (even though the connection does not always remain and I need to reconnect frequently) so that I can see everything in one place. The budgeting section is super helpful for our family as we can monitor our spending and make sure we are not going too overboard in certain categories.

Cons:

There are a few areas where the app could improve. The biggest one for me is not being able to change the date on transactions to put them in the correct month. Because of how banks work where transactions cannot happen on weekends for direct debits, we sometimes end up with say 2 student loan payments in one month technically and then 0 in the next month. This makes it difficult to actually view your spending per month so if we could change the date on the transaction to move it to the correct month, this would help a lot!

Free Tier , The calendar that shows weekly expenses , the net worth option to see overall stats, the Goal feature to see how closer I am to reach the target.

Cons:

the forecasting tab pulling the data in synch and updating it, it's slow and it shows 3 days old data
