ShipStation software


ShipStation is a multi-carrier, multi-channel shipping solution designed to facilitate the shipping and fulfillment process for online retailers. The solution is cloud-based and key features include label creation, order management, customer information management and discounted shipping rates.

ShipStation automatically retrieves and consolidates order information from over 40 sales channels, applies a preconfigured set of shipping preferences to each order based on specifications, processes and prints customized shipping labels and packing slips and automatically updates each store with shipping status and tracking information.

Management of all customer communication is automated and provides consolidated reporting for immediate viewing. Other functions include prefilled international customs forms, the ability to combine and split orders, user auditing and permissions management. ShipStation also offers integration with Fulfillment by Amazon.

    It is a hassle-free tool that lets you manage international shipping. It is ideal for online sellers who don't have time to personally go to the post office.

    Excellent customer service. We pay for enterprise support and the chat team has helped us on so many occasions.

    Pros

    Shipstation helped our small business in many ways. The process of integrating your marketplaces is straightforward and simple. The native integrations offered are quite extensive, and we did quite lengthy research to pick and fulfillment software that integrated with the most marketplaces possible. The value for the cost is totally worth the investment, and the customization of carriers, labels, automation rules, notification emails truly makes this a great product.

    Cons

    You can only integrate one Amazon EU account, not all countries. So for example, you can integrate amazon.uk, but not amazon.it or amazon.de. There are still some marketplaces that do not offer a native integration with Shipstation. I wish reporting "insights" were more extensive.

    This one lets you recognize goods that are returned and those which are new, efficiently. Their rules are within most business limits and are really friendly. Their filters are a great shot and often enhance your platform. They are user-friendly and worth the money. Customer service is quite vibrant.

    Cons

    It is quite a complex one if yours is a big business lot. Flexibility is one issue. Mistakes made between placement and delivery of offers can create havoc, especially if more than 1000 shipments are made per day. There is no option for one to edit the manual orders. The process has to be started once again after its deletion. No detail is provided over choices of shipments with lower costs. Paypal cannot be used. No offline version for the system.

    Pros

    Being able to have all your orders in one place really makes a difference. I love the fact that I only have to go to one place to print all my labels. Also being able to edit my packing slip is awesome (HTML Knowledge Required). Not having to jump from site to site looking for orders really is nice. This integrates perfectly with my UPS account.

    Cons

    Can be a little difficult to set up if you aren't tech savvy. but overall you should be able to learn how to use it. Use the knowledge base site.

    It's very easy to link all of your online stores so you can see all your orders on once screen. You can set presets for select items so you don't have to manually input shipping info every time as well. Customer support, the few times I've had to contact them, has been speedy and very helpful. This has made our shipping process so much faster and less of a headache.

    Cons

    I'd like some more customization options for packing slips, other than just adding my logo. Every once in a while, I'll initiate a manual refresh of my linked stores for orders and the site will hang, taking 5-10 minutes to refresh and pull in the orders. This isn't a common occurrence, but when it does happen, it's frustrating.

    This site allowed me to make shipping products 10 times easier! I loved how I was given a free 30 day trial as I was unsure about the site initially.

    I do feel like shipping prices are better on paypal and with paypal I do not have to pay a monthly fee.

    You can effectively organize and manage shipping and service from your e-commerce websites. Presence of a powerful feature to identify return customers. The search customer feature where you can search four to field details of a customer is very robust as it reduces a lot of time. A huge volume of orders is processed with higher fulfillment times. Highly responsive customer service. Automated client communications, integrating emails, messages, and chats. A rugged inventory tracking system, they, in fact, have a lot of templates you can work on.

    Cons

    The user interface gets quite slow at situations. You cant just edit the created orders, you have to take up an additional effort to delete and create another one. The address confirmation feature could be made better. The absence of the desktop version of the software

    ShipStation will supercharge your SOHO level logistics. It's cheap, and easy to use. It's great for when you have minimal SKUs.

    Cons

    ShipStation is self limiting once you expand, but if you're in the category where this will be an issue, you probably would know how to handle this issue - it takes a while to hit this limit.

    A significant increase in productivity in the workforce and also a key contributor in our streamlining of the business. The Shipstation team themselves are real joy to work with with excellent customer service. Shipstation is great and has genuinely solved a lot of our issues with regards to order fulfilment.

    Pros

    The simplification of the fulfilment process is second to none. The feature of bulk printing labels is incredibly helpful as it saves so much time, leading to increased productivity in fulfiling our order requests. Centralising all of our contracts with couriers has also been incredibly advantageous, saving a lot of time. The fact that this pulls across the shipping information of each individual customer really makes this system fool proof. It has allowed the company I work for to branch out and purchase it's own warehouse, and subsequently make huge savings by no longer outsourcing our storage, picking and packing solutions.

    Cons

    It can be a little tricky with regards to actually setting up integrations, however this is only a minor limitation due to the fantastic customer service I was given.

    I was able to open an e-commerce store and manage manual order shipments as well. I also got a free stamps.com account.

    Pros

    Completely reliable, excellent customer support, intuitive, saves so much time, able to customize but not confusing to do so. Fits all of my needs. Oh... and we got a free stamps.com account, which saves me the amount.

    Cons

    Honestly, I have no issues with this software whatsoever. I got a call when we signed up, the rep helped me configure everything and we were up and running the same day.

    ShipStation makes it easy for business owner especially online sellers to work efficiently; not having to focus on their shipping thing.

    Pros

    This is an all-in-one shipping software. You can basically import, manage and ship your orders with ease. I also love that integration is never an issue!

    Cons

    It sometimes lags. I think with better interface it can be easily resolved. Other than that, it works totally fantastic!

    The software is an excellent idea, however the company behind it is less than honest in blaming others for their failures and then failing to take responsibility

    Pros

    Usability, easily check between shippers and import sales. However multiple shipments and checking history usability is poor

    Cons

    Unfortunately their customer service has failed greatly. They hid multiple charges per shipment via USPS and blamed Stamps.com even though Stamps actually showed these charges, which is how we found out.

    Shipping products can be a logistics nightmare for small to medium size business. ShipStation provided an easy means to track my shipments and remove them from inventory quickly.

    Cons

    ShipStation could be more intuitive to use. It also lacks substantial reporting options. I would prefer to be able to dig into my sales data on this platform.

    After trying just about everything else out there, Shipstation is as close to a perfect solution as you'll find. It helped me save over an hour each day, time that I was then able to spend on actually growing my business. It was a stretch to think of anything I didn't like - which speaks volumes about the software.

    Pros

    Integration with most major platforms and channels - it communicates back and forth between your Shopify, Amazon, eBay, etc. accounts to mark orders shipped and email the customer.
    Discounted shipping labels - The subscription pays for itself with how inexpensive the labels are.
    Automated tracking emails - create your own template and look the part of other major e-commerce stores.

    Cons

    Can get a little confusing when dealing with international shipments but their support team is definitely top notch and can help you sort out the issues quickly.

    Being able to batch a group of orders that are set to ship via the same carrier method and print all of the labels at once.

    Cons

    Sometimes it takes a few minutes for the stamps.com integration to auto-fund itself so there can be some unwanted down time between shipments.
