### A premium, all-in-one TMS solution with extensive capabilities and customizations

Trimble TMS played a central role in our enterprise. All users across all departments were interacting with the system on a daily basis, and workflows ran smoothly throughout the platform and into integrations with other vendors like Synergize/Microdea, Transflo, Samsara, Microsoft Great Plains, and Cleo for EDI. It was largely dependable and provided us with quality, well-designed data to enable quality reporting through SQL Server Reporting Services and Microsoft Power BI.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Trimble TMS (or TMW Suite as we knew it by) was the backbone of our business at Super T Transport. Its strengths are twofold: the breadth of features, and the customization capabilities. The entire stack encompasses the entire order lifecycle for both transportation loads and brokerage-logistics loads across all departments: operations, HR, safety, IT, and accounting. There is a MASSIVE amount of customization and configuration capabilities that I seriously doubt can be paralleled by any other competitor, both built-in and freeform by virtue of being able to change the back-end SQL code/stored procedures. The support was good: response times are quick, and users can generally get their issues resolved within an hour or two. It integrates with numerous vendors

#### Cons

The biggest con with Trimble TMS is its speed and click-intensiveness. The platform is undeniably huge by design, and many features can take 10-30 seconds to load. We understood part of this may be due to inefficiencies in our back-end database, but just be aware that if you're used to the speeds of platforms like Innovative, your users will need to adjust to being more patient. The platform was also premium-priced, but it was worth it for our enterprise to have access to the features it contains. We did also encounter bugs, mostly minor/nuisances, and fixing them required doing upgrades to new versions which took some effort to do.

#### Ratings breakdown

#### Pros

Trimble has excellent customer service reps that are very easy to deal with. Great that everything can be done remotely.

#### Cons

I do feel that our Support and Maintenance is quite high in cost, it feels like everything we require is invoiced out. Not really sure what it covers.

Poor customer service. The problems I was having, other subs were having. We were told to try again later in the day, that the system was down. I don't have time, day after day, to submit for payments. I emailed and they never responded. My GC said it takes a couple weeks to get a response.

#### Ratings breakdown

#### Pros

No support. Keep getting errors when, the system does not tell you what is missing, you have to go through every detail and try and figure it out. NOT USER FRIENDLY. A lot of time if wasted.

#### Cons

when I called, they just tell me things to appease me, and they act like they know their system sucks.

Having worked with Trimble TMS for more than 25 years, I've seen many changes over the years with the product. Through that time, the most important aspect has been having experienced support and DBA's to work with as we implement or upgrade different applications in the suite of products. Overall, we have experienced a very high level of experience and knowledge from Trimble.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 3/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Customer Service. It is imperative with enterprise management systems that the product support team is attentive to what we need. There are staff who have extensive careers with Trimble who provide expert support. This is a very important factor when considering a TMS.

#### Cons

As Trimble have acquired several organizations over the years, it can be difficult to coordinate projects that require support from several divisions.

I have used this product for 3.5 years and have loved it. My company just recently purchased another one to replace this one but I am very unhappy about that. The new one is very tiny and it spins and spins, taking too long to do anything. I really hate to lose Innovative!

Overall its been a good relationship over the past 15years, where we struggle is speed to market for version upgrades and support is slow to react to our needs. Lastly tighter account relationships would be great for advanced tech and roadmaps for how we can align to strengthen the product and client satisfaction

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 3/5
- Value for money: 3/5
- Customer support: 2/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

That at its core it does what it needs to do for base Order to Cash requirements for the Transportation vertical.

#### Cons

Not a platform that is advancing and keeping up with latest technology advancements! No Automation, RPA, ML and AI light on adapting open API's to allow for more integrations of advanced tools and making API management more native to the platform. EDI is a bear to work with, modern real time tools like mobile drivers applications and document management

Basic TMS system, but crashes so often and has limited technology. Our company is getting rid of TMW soon and getting a new TMS system.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 3/5
- Functionality: 2/5

#### Pros

Allows you to do most functions needed for brokering a load. Very basic and easy to understand the basic uses of Dispatch, Order Entry and File Maintenance.

#### Cons

Crashes constantly and kicks you out completely, almost daily. There are constant issues with sending documents or retrieving data like Lane History.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 3/5
- Functionality: 2/5

#### Pros

I like that the Dispatch board allows the creation of multiple boards; this has made keeping track of certain lanes' operations (such as during peak season) much easier. It also lends itself well to creating reports. Entering loads in Order Entry is relatively simple as well.

#### Cons

The interface is reminiscent of Windows 95, and not in a good way. It's unattractive and the layout isn't the most intuitive, either. Everything is very clustered together, which can make it difficult to find what you're looking for. Additionally, it's prone to freezing and crashing on a fairly regular basis, sometimes not even allowing a user access for up to an hour or more. It's been my least favorite software to work with, unfortunately.

Since joining the Trimble group, trying to access service for software glitches is next to impossible, even though our software support fees have always been and continue to be paid up to date. The responsiveness is mired in many layers of administration and the lack of sufficient knowledgeable staff to handle software issues. Case in point, I advised them of a software issue in November and I am still waiting for some one to address the issue. Jan 15, 2016. Rated customer service at one star because no stars was unavailable.

The support team is great, but they need some brains in the developmental department. They have made the software too cumbersome, click back and forth through several windows for parts orders and work orders. I have been using software since 1997 and this is the worst.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 2/5
- Value for money: 1/5
- Customer support: 1/5
- Functionality: 1/5

#### Pros

The support team does a pretty good job. Wish I could say the same for the rest.

#### Cons

If you like clicking through a lot of windows to complete 1 task, go for it. This is the software for you. Make a mistake, it erases your entry instead of letting you go back and correct it. You get to re-enter it. The big one for me is that the development team has been working on the month end report all year (it is not August) and we still have not had a correct report. This is a critical report for our organization.

#### Reasons for choosing Trimble TMS

I was not in on it.

#### Reasons for switching to Trimble TMS

Because of Truck Mate.

None that I have figured out today, about as bad as Mcleod.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 1/5
- Value for money: 2/5
- Customer support: 3/5
- Functionality: 3/5

#### Pros

They offer a hosted solution and have an *expensive* but semi integrated add on CRM module. Most legacy users are still server/premise based however. Their tech support gets an 'A' for effort but 'F' for functionality and follow through.

#### Cons

Very antiquated, this technology has been around since the 80's, nothing *cutting edge* about TMW, and their suite application requires a dozen modules that are each a stand alone program. So you need 4-5 different applications/modules open at all times to do you job. Buggy, has daily glitches that require you to duplicate your work.

Bottom line with the software is:- if you running large amount of fleet, booking large amount of freight, fast paced work environment where each operator constantly on the phone multi-tasking between 1 – 3 monitors/computers. I would never recommend it. This will change your attitude as the software will decrease your production ability. It’s made to make you Serve it. if you small operating company with small amount of fleet, and if its priced right for you, I would recommend it.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 1/5

#### Pros

visual. colorful. Teach extra high level of patience.

#### Cons

Slow Motion. Excessive unnecessary technical errors. Excessive amount of steps. Cannot utilize the software to serve YOU, the Software utilize YOU to serve it. “It’s like creating the beast that have no control over it”.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 3/5

#### Pros

I like that it is easy to track not only the trailers but drivers as well. Easy to set up routing and locations. It is easy to move around from dispatch to payroll and most of the time it is a quick fix when someone gets button happy. We have the option to send the loads directly to the driver and the system will track there movements, but we found it easier to manually move our OTR drivers. During the time of our transition from 2012 version to 2018 the problems we have encountered have been quickly fixed by the Trimble groups support team.

#### Cons

No back button when the person who is manually moving the drivers and equipment gets a little to quick on the buttons. We updated our system and did some testing before going live and some of the hiccups we caught and thought were fixed carried over to the live version. We are a Intermodal trucking company and our original version from 2012 had custom moves that are not able to brought up to 2018.
