A Very Powerful and Flexible Business Security Product

Overall, the switch to Emsisoft Business Security has been a positive move. Initially, there was lots of activity detailed in the Global incidents Report that need attention daily along with the time and work to create exclusion lists, but monitoring is done in a shorter time period each day.

PROS

Emsisoft has a wealth of features that allows for a lot of customization for specific client needs. I like the process of reporting "false positives" based on known software processes that automatically creates white list applications and processes to exclude from scrutiny going forward. The File Guard and Behavior Blocker features can be set to ALERT ONLY which is helpful on new client deployments so known business software processes are not inadvertandly blocked and processes can be white listed. After the first while, protection can be strengthened.

CONS

I find that there are many features and settings within that can be tweaked, but found that it was a bit overwhelming at first - although the usual defaults are a good starting point. It took me quite a while to work with informational videos and Tech support chats to get things set.

Reason for choosing Emsisoft Business Security

Both of these products are now offered through Atera, and through them I am not purchasing any long term commitments. I am hoping to test Malware Bytes for Business on a smaller site, so that I can better get to know that software as well. It is possible that this might be better suited to some clients, so it's good to know I have the flexibility to switch between the two products if needed.

Reasons for switching to Emsisoft Business Security

When I started my MSP Business, I researched quite a few products and found good reviews regarding Webroot. I had a personal MSP business contact and this individual provided assisstance during onboarding and I was able to get what I believed to be a competitive pricing for the initial seats I was able to setup. During the next two years, even though I had doubled the number of seats, my MSP Business contact left to another division of the company. I reached an annual renewal point and the pricing offered was considerably more expensive. I tried to get some clarification and tried unsuccessfully for weeks for anyone to talk to me - no one would return my calls, so I left. In the two years, I had needed the support of Webroot Tech Support and didn't find them very responsive - not providing any real support, so felt I was very much on my own. Support was Email only - No chat support.
