Endpoint Security for Business Core Software

Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business Core is a security solution focused on providing fundamental protections for any office. This on-premise suite includes anti-malware, a firewall and a central administration control.

Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business Core combines traditional, signature-based malware detection with the latest pattern-based technologies, enabling it to defend against new and emerging threats. It also taps into the Kaspersky Security Network, which aggregates over 25 million samples of suspicious behavior every day, allowing Kaspersky analysts to keep track of threats in real time.

Meanwhile Kaspersky’s advanced firewall and intrusion prevention system helps protect workstations and servers from intruders seeking to steal business data. The firewall comes with hundreds of rules for the most common programs already in place, thus reducing the time required to spend on configuration.

A scalable system, Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business Core works on multiple operating systems, including Windows, Mac OS X and Linux.

Pros

This product seems to do a good job protecting my work computer. I have had no issues since it's installation with any viruses or malicious software. I get alerts that are easy to understand and I'm able to understand any actions it recommends I take.

Cons

I use this as a background program so I am not actively in the product all the time. With that said I don't have any cons to share at this time.

Nice product that gives a great protection of your business computing environment.

Pros

Once it is installed properly and configured, it runs well and protects your computer/network environment very nicely. We have used the Kaspersky Endpoint Total Solution for several years now and have been well protected.

Cons

Sometimes, we have issues with the database (signatures) expiring and have to reload the softwared. Fortunately, these have been just a few exceptions to a great product.

Likes Best

The feature list is good, and the performance are very good. The users didn't feel the difference with and without then antivirus.

The detection was fine.

Likes Least

When you disable some feature, you have annoying indication that tell the user to reactivate it. Since it's from the server, it should be all green.

The Mac version is a mess.

Recommendations

Haven't using long enough to be sure, but overall it may be a good option to add to your evaluation list.

Protects systems and file servers across various Operating System platforms. One central console to manage all endpoints including mobile devices.

Likes Least

With all sorts of protections provided, I missed the permanent file deletion tool. It is just one step away from becoming the ultimate endpoint security solution.

Recommendations

One of the best endpoint protection software available in the market which provides complete value for money. Offers excellent data loss prevention.

The admin software is great tool. It found viruses that I had not found in prior scans with my old software. I was able to confirm that there were no false positives as well. It worked well and the console gave me everything I needed in one place.

Likes Least

Not real fond of the fact that most of the software development is located in Russia. I understand its a global market but it doesn't mean I need to like it.

Recommendations

The user interface and admin console is easy to use and the feature are robust enough to serve most of your needs.

Kaspersky has helped protect our desktop computers for a number of years now and seems to be very effective.

Pros

Kaspersky End Security has a ton of great features including full scans and quick scans of the entire computer to help find any malware or viruses.

Cons

There isn't too much I dislike about Kaspersky but I feel like the Full Scan could be a bit quicker.

What I like best about this product is the ability to run behind the scenes. This product is very low maintenance but is also highly reliable. On top of this it works! You can customize what scans you want to run or set it all up manually.

Cons

I wish there was a feature that could push updates to computers that have not been scanned in awhile.

Does software deployment where deploying software to your entire domain of computers at ease. Web restrictions which require fine tuning but block and prevents unwanted access to malicious sites and unwanted sites. Antivirus does what we all know about

Cons

Antivirus scan and usage on systems. When product does full scan, it slows performance of machines by 50% and delays the IO of the HDD by a lot. Its a needed step but wish it did not degrade performance of the systems by that much.

Protection from cybersecurity threats.

Pros

Peace of mind: With new hacks in the news almost daily, additional security is a must. For a small business, using Kaspersky Endpoint gives us added security against the inevitable incursion.
Ease of use: Kaspersky software itself is easy to use. See additional info under Cons.
Reasonable cost.

Cons

Added hassle: While Kaspersky software itself is easy to use, it adds a layer of additional hassle to everything we do online. We have accepted that as necessary for today's business climate.

It does a good job of securing our network.

Pros

This is a well polished mature product that will do the job. It's full-featured and fairly easy to deploy and manage.

Cons

This software is rather heavy on the system and could potentially impact performance of older machines in a meaningful way. While it should be fine on newer hardware, older hardware and OSes could be problematic.

Kaspersky is a great file protection program for the average user.

Pros

Kaspersky is very user friendly. The software platform is very easy to manage and administrate. It catches herustics very well.

Cons

The program could be less irritating if the pop ups were not so frequent. Many of the pop ups are very redundant and not necessary.

Protection from malware and other cyber security threats.

Pros

Kaspersky has a good reputation for providing security to workstations accessing the internet. Running scans is pretty easy, and doesn't seem to stress my workstation's capacity too much.

Cons

Install/initial use not easy or intuitive: I had some issues getting the software to work after I downloaded and installed it. I finally figured out I had to immediately update the database.
Can't figure out how to tell Kaspersky which websites are safe: I keep getting warning messages when I visit websites like LinkedIn. Not cool.
Considering the current cyber security threat environment, Kaspersky is a necessary pain.

Pros

Management suite includes many remote functionality tools. Easy to install and manage. Comprehensive package that can include antispam.

Cons

High Integration into windows os that can make windows crash. In order to have real time protection against wanna cry worm you need to have the enterprise suite which cost more. Older machines may become slower if they only have minimum requirements.

I have been using Kaspersky Security for 7 years now. With two teenagers and 3 PCs in the house we were constantly being plagued with viruses and having our computers cleaned up even though we were using anti virus software. We asked parents of our teens friends and one put us onto Kaspersky. We have never looked back. No virus since. Easy annual renewal on multiple devices. Cost is minimal and well worth the security and peace of mind. Customer service is amazing should you need to get in touch.
