About TypingDNA ActiveLock

To secure devices in work-from-anywhere environments, Cybersecurity teams (big and small) rely on TypingDNA ActiveLock to ensure only authorized users are accessing company equipment. By continuously authenticating the employee’s typing pattern while they’re using the device, ActiveLock will trigger an alert and lock the screen if the company computer is intentionally shared or gets into the wrong hands — protecting sensitive data and reducing the risk of fraud.

Unusual approach to common problem

We will try to implement company health check, but as a user that has software installed, i am satisfied. I even forget it even exists, but if someone tries to use my laptop, all of us gets reminded not to do that, as its company computer, not a personal/shareable one :)

PROS

Its zero touch, i don't see it, o don't feel it, unless i try to type with one hand, then it just locks my screen and says someone was using my computer :)

CONS

some quality of life improvements was needed, but they included that in next update. Maybe some insights/dashboard for user could be nice

Vendor Response

Thank you, Dainius, for using our continuous endpoint authentication solution. The app produces local logs (check user guide for specific file location) where you find information about matching scores and other activities. Our commercial version easily aggregates those logs and can display a dashboard using desired SIEM such as DataDog, Grafana, and others.

Excellent product

PROS

I use ActiveLock for a few weeks already and worked flawlessly. It was very intuitive and easy to install. Actually, after the training was completed, I set the highest security level and it worked perfectly. I was curious to see if it will lock the computer when I was using it, but it didn't lock not even once. So, it worked excellent.

CONS

I can't think of any specific aspect. Maybe the training was longer than expected, but in the end this could be a good thing, too.

Vendor Response

Glad to hear that you enjoy it! The initial training time is roughly 2000 words, about 1 to 2 days of average user typing. This happens passively while you do your work, so you don't have to open our app to type something actively.

TypingDNA ActiveLock A unique concept that certainly will be attractive to many users nowadays

my experience with TypingDNA activelock hasn't lived up to my expectations yet as i haven't yet been able to use it because of its training period

PROS

TypingDNA caught my attention immediately its able to replace MFA / 2FA with typing biometrics. I downloaded activelock which is able to constantly check if the correct person is using the device my verifying the typing biometrics is correct and locks the device if its not

CONS

activelocks training period is too long for infrequent use, i installed it on my machine and its still 48% trained after at least a week

Trial of Typing DNA

It was easy to setup and works as it's supposed to. It blocks unknown users and secures my computer

PROS

Typing DNA was easy to install and learns how the user types. I tested this by completing the training portion and then had another user type a memo. Within six words, it had locked the computer keeping the unknown user (unknown to TypingDNA) from doing anything else on the computer.

CONS

At this point, I can find no reason for not liking the app.

Reason for choosing TypingDNA ActiveLock

We're still in the trial phase at this time.

Vendor Response

Thank you for your kind words! We are continuously updating ActiveLock with a fantastic experience. Keep an eye on our updates.

atypical product

Even though all my colleagues are extraordinary, the application makes working at the office as safe as working at home.

PROS

It runs really smooth. From time to time I remember that the application is active and that it does its job discreetly and this gives me a feeling of security.

CONS

I think that a report on what happened in the last 30 days would be useful

Vendor Response

Well said! - "the application makes working at the office as safe as working at home."
