About cPanel & WHM

cPanel & WHM is a server management software that helps small and medium enterprises, developers, business leaders and partners manage websites and web servers. It enables teams to create domains, launch email networks and backup web files in a unified interface.

The solution lets administrators create accounts for customers, shared calendars, aliases and domain name space (DNS) zones to manage intranets. It offers a WebHost Manager interface, which allows businesses to monitor daemons and analyze servers’ hard disk usage. Additionally, cPanel & WHM enables managers to analyze servers’ statistics to diagnose potential issues, blacklist/whitelist several IP addresses and encrypt outbound messages.

cPanel & WHM offers an API, which lets businesses modify the system and integrate it with several third-party applications such as KernelCare, CloudLinux OS, JetBackup, imunify360 and more. Pricing is available on a monthly subscription and support is extended via forums, knowledgebase, phone, video tutorials and other online measures.

One of the best UI based panel to manage your server

5

I am using cPanel for almost 6+ years now, and it is the only convenient way to manage my servers. Even with reseller hosting, I look for cPanels. That is why I never prefer Hostinger or GoDaddy. Their management panel is more like a portal and it is not much useful. I love cPanel for its simplicity and the job it does.

Pros:
When I was new to hosting and server management, cPanel was first among the tools that I used. cPanel is so easy to use that any neophyte with minimalistic knowledge can use it without any hassles. They timely provide UI and icons update. There is a wide variety of plugins like SSL vendors, App installers, Metrics, etc. 3rd party integrations make it very feature-rich. I love DNS records management. It is very easy to search and modify records from their directory.
Cons:
Apart from lots of features, a few features need some mending. Like the file explorer (File Manager) they have is not very keyboard friendly. Keystrokes should be mapped with the buttons and features. Also, using the old email clients is not much productive. We cannot append the name of the sender in the header. A new email client (except webmail and horde) should be implemented.

Reasons for choosing cPanel & WHM

I chose WHM because its feature is unmatched compared with the above-mentioned panel providers.

cPanel & WHM Review

5

cPanel & WHM is a very good piece web based software for managing your server hosting. It provides you with a reliable and efficient interface, with all of the tools you need to manage website hosting.

Pros:
cPanel & WHM can be accessed via your web browser to manage website hosting, databases, emails, server side scripts, ftp access, SSL installation, domain configuration and more. You can administer different levels of access for other users as well as reseller accounts. There is a mobile app available for administrators that are unable to access a desktop/laptop to manage hosting changes.
Cons:
The software is effective, but does have a few limitations. As of now it is only deployed on Linux servers. You might find the appeal of the user interface to be more of a personal preference. I prefer the cleaner interface of Plesk. The listed menu style of Plesk control panel is a little more consistent and the appearance feels more modern.

Reasons for choosing cPanel & WHM

Using cPanel & WHM for different server hosts is the reason for using this software. Depending on the hosting, I have found myself alternating between cPanel and the Plesk control panel.

Pros:
Ease of usage, functions, extensibility everything is awesome and is well made for service providers specially in shared hosting industry, they also keep adding new features like free SSL and keep the code uptodate to minimalise any issues to appear suddenly, i worked with WHM many times and i personally like the working and and ui to be extra ordinary.
Cons:
there was not something i would consider i like least but a recent change made me rething my opinion about them, many of my friends who were exclusive customers of WHM/cPanel cancelled their subscription cause of a single change in their pricing which forced amny privders to either raise their plans or switch, and they choose the first one as cheapest wins the race in this idustry.

Server management software that has come through time and again consistently

Webserver management and webaite hosting is a breeze with cpanel, you set it and forget it. It also works with s ton of applications we use that are a pain to host if we go another route. The user facing workflow also never changes from the whm allocation all the way to setting up user accounts. including email

Pros:
Cpanel does the job it is meant to do. It intergrates with alot of applications we use mostly due to its longevity in the market and has simplified matters to enable even our beginner uses to get started with it relatively fast. Whm allows quick deployment of cpanel and they intergrate beautifully
Cons:
The recent pricing changes brought in alot of complications in determining the cost.

Reasons for switching to cPanel & WHM

At the time the features were simoly not worth the price

WHM for Best Server Management Experience

Hosting websites for customers and managing our VPS and Dedicated servers. We have secure and updated servers. Without cPanel & WHM we would have to manage most features with a Terminal.

Pros:
EasyApache is the best software for me, because I can easily provision different extensions for different PHP versions and then select multiple versions of PHP for each domain. Then I like the fact that we can create feature lists and select which features a customer will have available for his cPanel. Each customer should have only the necessary features and access to different tools. Suspending accounts is really useful when customers don't pay their invoices for a long time and after many warnings. The best of all is the Security Center where I can configure everything, set security policies, Brute force protection and other restrictions. Basically I like that cPanel is always recommending the best and safest option for each feature there is available across cPanel & WHM.
Cons:
We would prefer the old pricing which wasn't user based, but it's still affordable and very stable as a server software.

Cons:
Cpanel license is little expensive for small business or individuals if purchased directly from them but most hosting companies provide free license tagged with their products

WHM & Cpanel make navigating hosting solutions across different hosts a breeze

5

WHM (WebHost Manager) I have used since release and enjoy the UI for my own use at times, being more used to cPanel I can go either way. However for Clients, WHM is a stellar product and I enjoy it for that purpose every time I use it. cPanel is just ubiquitous to me when I consider hosting in general. Over the years I have had to use proprietary stuff from GoDaddy and many others but they were all CRAP. I would suggest against any option other than cPanel in any use short of huge Cloud accounts that need the specific build some Hosting requires. I have a Siteground account that is an indication of that, but short of anything below high dollar hosting I wouldnt work with a host that lacks cPanel functionality.

Pros:
Generic in terms of branding, fully functional in that form. In other words, different hosts aren't compelled to change it and that makes working on clients sites easily with no learning curve to worry about
Cons:
Occasionally doesn't allow for a feature but usually, that's the host. I really have no issue at all with Cpanel and have considered any hosting I was deciding on first based on cPanel. If they don't have it I will go to higher pricing first

Pros:
cPanel is a great product that makes it extremely easy to manage your own servers, DNS records as well as emails and clients websites. It is an all in one solution to managing both emails and websites as well as the technical aspects through a wonderful interface. The WHM master control panel also makes it very easy to manage multiple cPanel accounts and functionalities. Furthermore, allowing you to create separate login details for each of your clients to access their own cPanel dashboard for management purposes
Cons:
The biggest cons with regards to cPanel is that there exists no automatic backup functionality which is a very important feature, single-use licenses can also become extremely expensive. Lastly, the email interface options could also use more work and features to be included.
