Bitbucket Software

Bitbucket is a collaborative Git solution that allows users to review codes with pull requests. Users can have discussions with coders in the source code with inline comments. The software provides a multi-deployment option as it can be hosted in the cloud or on-premise.

Configuration as code enables developers to manage their own delivery workflows. Users can configure Bitbucket pipelines by adding a bitbucket-pipelines.yml file to the root of a repository. Bitbucket pipelines show build statuses automatically on branches, commits and pull requests.

Branch permissions provide limited access controls to team members, so that only users with knowledge of editing codes can make changes to the code. Users can analyze the changes in repositories with unified or side-by-side views while reviewing codes.

The solution integrates with other applications such as JIRA, Hipchat, Bamboo and trello. Support is provided via an online forum, email and phone. Pricing is per user per month.

can we have patch functionality in it to make more comfortable while working with local changes.

Pros

We can manage code and code branches for different environments like development mode or quality analyst mode . we can it while working individually or with team to have track of code and code changes.

Cons

if we are moving from one environment to other environment then we can see messed up code with branches and we can not generate log number against each commit.

Value for Money

Pros

It is one of the leading remote repository application for Version Control systems. It has pretty good integration with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, CircleCI and Travis.

Cons

It doesn't highlight the change of code when there is an indent change in the code. It could be difficult sometimes to search your own repositories. You need to maintain the server if you have hosted Bitbucket on one of your own servers

Pros

This is another great version control repository that uses Git. Has a great UI for tracking code changes and really easy to setup repositories. And, works integrates well with jira as well!

Cons

It runs slow sometimes before but haven't been for a couple of months now. Also, 3 repositories for free is a bit low I think.

A Smooth and Savvy Git Repository -

Ease-of-use

Value for Money

Atlassian Bitbucket is a smooth, intuitive, low-profile and very capable git repository. It functions exactly how you would want it to and can be considered a solid alternative, or addition to GitHub. The user interface and functionality have been markedly improved from previous versions, which were slightly less forgiving for newer developers. It was always a good product, and now it is even better, with continuous improvement and wonderful new beta features being added regularly. I love this platform and I'm anticipating the opportunity to test out the new features and see where they will go in the future.

Pros

Atlassian Bitbucket has a clean, user friendly interface. You can store full code, team projects, as well as code snippets, and search your code. There is support for large files. Bitbucket has easily accessible links with tutorials and tricks to get started, even at the very basic beginner level. It is fully collaborative for development teams with variable needs. The best advantage of this platform over GitHub is it allows for private code repositories in the free model. You can control access to your code with public or private repos, and even fine tune access control with additional rules and extensions on the premium mode. There are tons of excellent integrations, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, Python, Visual Studio, Circle CI. and more. New beta features seem to be added regularly. The free model is great and the upgrades are reasonably priced. This is a well-rounded, excellently performing, continuously expanding code hosting platform that is well-suited to support your individual or team projects.

Cons

Previously, there was a slight learning curve in the processes, but this has been smoothed out. There are no real cons that I can think of, except that the open-source social celebrity aspects of GitHub are not a prominent feature here. However, if you are not looking for these aspects, you will likely be very happy with all of the features which are included to support your building endeavors.

Pros

--Version Control, Able to host the server locally, Able to make changes and revert on the fly.
--Easy branch management, merging and conflict reviewing. Integrates nicely with tickets in JIRA so I can see what ticket a commit is fixing, and click through to it.

Cons

No feature to search in the code which is a big feature left out. - its UI component source tree has too many issues with updates.

Bitbucket reigns in the Git chaos

Ease-of-use

Functionality

Product Quality

Customer Support

Value for Money

Bitbucket is necessary to keep some control over Git, which is by definition a free and open world.

Pros

Several layers of security and protection. I am able to restrict users and groups of users from projects. I can also restrict access to past branches to read only. The layers of security means that senior programmers cna push their changes while junior programmers must submit a pull request to have a senior level person review their changes prior to being incorporated.

Cons

Git in and of itself can be hard for people to learn and adapt to -- especially the senior level people who grew up with the storage locker mentality towards source control.

Great source code repository for small teams

Value for Money

Pros

Private repositories
Has everything for complete project management for very small teams, e.g Integrated wiki for documentation, trello - for task management, file repository for managing downloadable contents etc.
Choice of VCS system between git/mercural
Can add code snippet for sharing with other and for storing small pieces of code that are not part of the actual source code, e.g. deployment scripts etc.

Cons

Free tier users are not counted when number of users cross the allowed limit of 5 free users, e.g. if you are five users, you pay nothing, but if you are 6 or above, you pay for all users. This is limiting for growing teams and start ups as the cost per month shoots up suddenly.

Pros

Bitbucket offers reasonable pricing compared to Github, while also offering many of the good features that Github made a staple for source control.

Bitbucket does not offer as many integrations as Github, and has a smaller user base. Expect new tools that integrate with git to not support Bitbucket as quickly.

Bitbucket is a modern platform that allows optimal management, scheduling and code collaboration. Including GIT in the web repository, it also allows the designer to be informed about the changes used in the different sections of the draft, as well as to make more effective use of the time spent on the outcomes carried out. If you know everything about GIT system, then Bitbucket is your choice. I can definitely say that your team will enjoy using this great tool. Safe your GIT repositories in a most reliable way, make the process of collaboration with your team workes quick and easy. Yes, I recommend this tool to everyone whose work is based on a teamwork.

Cons

According to the price, I can say that it can become too high if using with large software organizations.

For my small-side personal projects,I use Bitbucket to manage my software code.

Pros

The selling point for Bitbucket is how it provides me with a private repository on a small amount of cloud storage via its free package. Thus letting me use a small private repository for free ,with an option to upgrade to a standard Bitbucket repository space ,priced at an affordable rate.

Cons

Unlike on Github where I am able to manage my repository using its Graphical user interface(GUI),on Bitbucket I am left to use git commands for maintaining and updating versions of my repository.

Bitbucket was very helpful, our team benefited a lot. With this tool, we have the opportunity to work with a huge amount of our documentation and then to store all of it in a very large memory place. I had a lot of job to be done, and thanks to Bitbucket I could implement my goal. As many other similar services, Bitbucket also offers an online support, which is really helpful. You can always count on the working staff and expect a quick respond. Therefore, if you have some issues that you aren't able to solve on your own, then you can receive the desirable support.

Cons

Everything is good so far with bit-bucket, its a good tool surely I would like to recommend it. With Bitbucket I have achіеved everything I expected to save my development projects.

The best thing about this great service is that it offers free plans as well as payments for the business level, besides not only it works for web hosting but it is also ideal to plan, collaborate and execute and implement our codes so unlike other services or software with the same functionality this one is much more complete and much more efficient since it allows to make code revisions in a much more reliable and viable way which is the extraction and the best thing is that our projects will be safe in the cloud, so I consider it ideal for large developers.

I use Bitbucket mainly to store private repositories from projects of clients, so I haven't really used collaboration tools other than giving others access to some repos. For solo projects it's an amazing tool, with an easy to use interface and quick integration with git tools on desktop. It might also have a slight advantage over Github for hosting small projects, so it's a great service for small businesses that doesn't need all the additional collaboration tools that build over git repositories' native collaboration.

Pros

Private repositories available in free account.
Ease of use.
Tons of complementary tools from Atlassian, the parent company. Tight integrations with tools like Jira.

Cons

Collaboration and user interface aren't as polished as Github.
