Overall - great product. You just need to keep your site relevant and not allow it to go stale.

Pros

SharePoint was easy to organize and get a departmental website set up quickly (just a couple of weeks). Creating the layout, adding pictures and information was user intuitive.

Cons

The most difficult part of the implementation was designing the security aspect. Luckily, we had a consultant to assist with ensuring our data was seen by the right individuals.

Enjoy it !

Pros

I have always known it as the remote desktop connection and was always satisfied with it. There is no doubt as Sharepoint it is a million times better.

Cons

Fixing and connecting to other users to help them or collaborate has zero cons in my book. Wouldn’t you agree.

I have the Office365 which comes with 1TB of storage, I use it ALL the time and most of the time can't fault this service.

Pros

Files are uploaded swiftly and on the background, you can use the same desktop app for both your basic free OneDrive and OneDrive for business which for me makes life easier.

Cons

Sometimes changed files fail to upload as another file with same name exists, it is rare but annoying,
A feature which for some reason exists on the "standard" OneDrive but id missing here is the ability to collaborate with co-workers, I want to be able to see if changes where made and by whom like I can do on the standard OneDrive!

We used this product along with a CAD software, organizing and collaborating in real time, making all the parts designed by the engineers very easy to catalog.

Pros

Very easy to use and integrate with other platforms, this products now works well with lync and skype, making it an all-in-one platform.

Cons

This is not a cheap solution since it requires you to license other Microsoft products such as a Windows Server with Active Directory. But this will give you a single sign-on in all the platforms.

It's an invaluable tool for our organisation.

Pros

The user interface is friendly and easy to use and allows for some customisation for marketing and branding of the different departments within our organisation. It is easy to use and solves one of our major problems of distributing secured documents in a large organisation.

Cons

It would be nice to be able to hide certain information from specific users. At present they may not be able to see the documents but they can see all the departments that are using it. If we could make some departments not visible to other departments such as Legal and HR it would be helpful.

With a refreshed UI, this can consolidate its grip in the market.

Pros

It is the most commonly implemented File & Work Sharing solution you would find in most established business setups. So, in that sense, this is the most familiar tool and hence quite easy to get hands-on.

Cons

But, it is quite dated in terms of its UI and Ease of Use. You have to learn a certain set of procedure to deal with Files and Folders Access which are not very intuitive.

I would recommend this tool for teams to use

Pros

One of the biggest pros is the accessibility of this tool from any device.
Also the FLOW feature is so amazing as it allows to transfer tasks between team members without any issues.

Cons

There is no option to add a document to the library with read only access rights, basically anyone can modify your document unless you restrict access to the whole library, which is inconvenient. Because for example I would want my team to upload individual templates with their holiday days off request but at the same time I don’t want them to modify each other’s calendar requests. So each file has to be uploaded to individual libraries which restrict other people’s access. A bit crazy.

Pros

Nice collaborative interface if you are sold on Office for all of your standard business software needs.

Pros

I use Sharepoint to create sites and pages that I can use to keep the rest of my team up to date with what I am working on. Creating and editing sites is pretty easy, and hypothetically, if my other team members follow the site, or know where to find the site, they can easily see what I have published.
Sharepoint sites also have the ability to display Microsoft forms, which is a feature that I use. If you are using Microsoft 365 there are a variety of features that crossover.

Cons

Personally, although SharePoint is functional, I don't like the way it looks and I don't enjoy using it. I wish it behaved more like a drag-and-drop web editor vs. a Microsoft program. But since it is a Microsoft program it makes sense that it has some of the feel and appearance of other programs like Word, Excel, etc. Personally I don't enjoy that and I don't find it very intuitive.

Pros

Used MS SharePoint to set up Document Sets for various projects, so that managers and PMs can see at a glance the stage at which the various artefacts are at. Great for version tracking and rolling back to previous versions.

Cons

Too easy to download a copy and work on it, rather than check it out and back in again with associated changes. If a message could be displayed to advise if changes to be made please check out current version, it would be helpful for those who perhaps don't understand the process.

we needed something to be able to setup central project sites and sharepoint has been good for that.

Pros

It has worked wonderfully for creating and maintaining or department knowledgebase and for creating project sites for us to collaborate with offsite people. We are able to create the sites quickly and it interfaces with microsofts full lineup of software. it's nice to be able to have a central site during a project to upload documents and share information with each other.

Cons

It has so many features that sometimes it can be overwhelming. Also even though it does have the ability to interface with microsofts other programs it doesn't always make it easy to do so.

The experience has been amazing. It is a user friendly platform that allows workers to well collaborate in the company.

Pros

As of today, we are using SharePoint across all departments. We easily share documents to other departments and teams in the field so that they can modify ,edit, upload and continue sharing. For the clients we have a separate page where we upload all the necessary information about clients ,this allows for easily sharing of goals and information of clients across all departments.Share point is easy to use and also helps one identify the documents that have been left and those that need finishing or reviewing. I also like the fact that one can use the software as a mobile application in his phone.

Cons

The mobile application keeps on asking for security verification which can be at time annoying. I also do not like the search tool, it is good but not superb. It would be great if they had more robust search tool.

This is great software if you need to collaborate with others. Your files can be accessed from anywhere with an Internet connection, multiple people can work in the same file at the same time, and you have the option to make updates in web based versions of applications or utilizing client software if you have it. This software has really helped project teams at work become more productive and work more efficiently.

Cons

If Microsoft has certain issues or has things down to do maintenance, it can impact your ability to access and/or work within SharePoint since it is hosted by them. Granted, with a company like Microsoft, their solutions are highly available and it would be rare for issues to be experienced, it is a possibility.
