Daylite from Marketcircle, Inc. enables users to manage many business aspects from a single application. It prioritizes projects and opportunities to provide visibility over short and long-term goals of the company, then organizes and connects these objectives to daily activities such as managing contacts, notes, emails, task lists and schedules.

Integration with Mail for MacOS allows emails to be saved as history as well as converted into actionable items like tasks and appointments directly from the email window. History is catalogued for each record and displayed as a timeline of interactions that also includes calls, appointments, tasks and notes.

Both projects and sales opportunities can be managed within Daylite. It tracks potential sales in addition to progress on projects by milestone and assigns tasks for each user involved.

Daylite is suitable for legal, consulting, real estate, financial, design, technology and sales businesses.

Price for cloud base is high for small shops like mine, instead of buying more licenses for all of our users we share one user and use categories to keep track. If price was lower I would buy more user licenses and fully utilities the capabilities

After developing my entire CRM system around Daylite, they switch to a subscription service. It's bait and switch. My data and my system are now being held ransom. The company cannot be trusted. Don't commit yourself or your company to them!

Pros

Daylite has the best feature set available. It connects mail, projects, calendars, and more. One can get a lot done from within this one program.

Cons

Extremely expensive for an individual. I bought the product before they switched to a subscription model. If I want to continue, I must keep paying.

Cons

More sophisticated features very hard to learn — such as projects, pipelines, opportunities. Manual is quite good but complex in these areas.

Pure Mac app. I loved the interface and the flexibility. The email integration is great.
I found data entry and management really easy.

Cons

There is a bit of a learning curve and sometimes I would get 'lost in panes'.
For me, it was overkill in the end.

The perfect Mac CRM program.

While I am glad to see a Mac-compatible product, I really wish that it was available for PC users. As someone who uses a Mac for a laptop and a PC as a desktop, it can get a little annoying to have to bring out my Mac to use it. I have seen a lot of people complain that you cannot use Daylite with other email clients, I know you can use Gmail with Mail. I have not tried connecting my Gmail with Mail, but I would imagine that once you have it connected, Daylite will work with those as well.

Pros

Well, the best part of Daylite is its integration with my Mac’s Mail app. There are a lot of products that leave out Mac users, but Daylite works perfectly with my High Sierra machine. I love that I can create a calendar entry for things that I have to do that are mentioned in my emails. The ability to track future sales helps us keep up to date on how we are meeting our company’s goals. Not only is it very easy to use, but it also has a mobile app that syncs with the program.

Cons

The price has to be the biggest con for me. It is rather steep when compared to other CRM programs, especially when you start to add users. While I am personally glad that there is finally a Mac CRM program, as someone who also uses a PC, I find that it’s a little frustrating to have to pull out my Macbook every time that I needed to use the program. I would also like to see an option for more storage, especially for the cost of the program.

This CRM is great for those who are devoted to Apple. I loved it while it lasted, but I had to change CRMs due to my team utilizing more than just Apple products.

Pros

It integrates with all your native apple applications and can enhance productivity. The app is intuitive and mimics the feel of apple applications.

Cons

If you are implementing this CRM for your company and you have several team members that you'd like to include, be aware that you may be unintentionally excluding many of your team members. The CRM does not work on PC or Android mobile devices.

Nothing out of the ordinary, easy and has all basic functions as well as many other surprise elements that you might enjoy integrating into your use.

Pros

Great for team working, I can set up a project, choose team members and then in all one big step and include them all in to see all of the information on their, deadlines, meetings and other helpful information.

Cons

It is only able to be used or compatible with Apple products, I myself am not an Apple fanatic so I use Androids and regular laptops. I only used it because the company provided the Iphones and Ipads to use it.

If you are a MacOS based business looking for a workflow management I would definitely recommend Daylite

Pros

For our consulting business I did not think I could find a platform that would allow us to automate so much of our business development and project management. It even interfaces into our accounting system and works brilliantly on desktop, phone and tablet.

Cons

The biggest issue for us is that while the business is MacOS many of the consultants come with their own hardware and some are either Windows or Android. But there are work around with that.

Get Product For The Apple Centric Environment

Daylite manages customers, accounts opportunities with ease. Tightly coupled integration with Apple Mail and calendaring functions make it a seamless product that delivers results. It has depth and many time saving features as result of this tightly coupled nature of the Apple only ecosystem. It is this point where the challenge to Daylite exists, not the product but having the customer convert from a non-Apple platform to a Apple based computing infrastructure. The barriers of cost outside of Daylite are not insignificant, but the good news is that this cost barrier is becoming less over time and most users would be happy to move to an Apple based product.

Great Opportunity management. Ability to tag specific emails through the Mail Assistant to people, companies and opportunities is one of the greatest strengths
Easy to create sales processes

Daylite has a lot of functionality and wonderful integration. (Our calendar and email integrates with Daylite). We use this software for our customer database. To get the most out of the product, you need to take the tutorials so you can learn how to "tag" customers and create mini databases. For example, if you have a buyer that has bought certain items from you company, you will want to tag that buyer with the name of the item so you can pull up reports. The more you use the tags and connections, the better your reports will be. We find these very useful, but if someone in the office forgets to tag a customer properly, the data is pretty much useless.

Cons

It is not "plug and play". You need to put the work in to understand the functionality.l If you have a "lazy" employee, you might not get the full use of the software

For a novice, it was difficult to understand how CRM software works. Though the tutorial covers the basic of CRM, many of the steps are based on a previous version of the software, so it was confusing.
However, the basics are very logical and easy to follow. I still need to more fully understand the less commonly used features, but I feel comfortable enough with the software to use it on a regular basis for all my CRM needs.

Pros

Consistent interface across the multiple features.

Cons

Using some of the features are restrictive and don't work for me. For example, the choices within the category, type, state, etc. don't provide choices that make sense in the context in which I use them; if there is a way to change them and make them specific to my needs, it was not made clear from the documentation.

Using Daylite (and replacing the rest)

In the past I have tried a number of software solutions. I've used other CRM's along with TODO list apps. Daylite allows me to keep everything in one place and basically use just one app for managing relationships as well as email (on my desktop), projects, tasks, my calendar and more. No more jumping from one app to another - it's all here. Basically every bit of information about a client can be linked. The forms and reports are incredibly useful and it's the only CRM I have found that allows me to link and show important items in my Apple Calendar (without having to use Google Calendar.) Now scheduling is a breeze.

Pros

I love the integration. When using the desktop app I can link everything and see the relationships right away. I use it as a smart contact list, a project planner, a reminder system - and even very simple finance tracking. The learning curve has been fairly easy and I have to be honest, I appreciate Marketcircle's videos as well as the user guide when I get stuck.

Cons

The only 'wish list' item I have is for Daylite's mobile app to allow linking incoming emails with contacts and organizations. Other than that I can't think of anything else I want it to do.

Advice to Others

Daylite is a Mac only app - but if you're a Mac user this is the CRM to take a serious look at.

Terrible

Pros

It doesn't seem to lose any data or break in a way that destroys the work that goes into it.

Cons

It is buggy, inconsistent, hard to use (and thus hard to teach to use), and, most of all, badly designed. It attempts to match a Mac app sort of feel by having things almost look and act like they do in a stock Mac app like Numbers, Preview, etc. But they fail in actually making it intuitive and useful. The most obvious example is the way it "pulls in" information from the left side of the window in a thing that I don't even know what to call, maybe it's a page? Anyway, these "pages" (for lack of a better word), stack and cover up everything below, and they are also temporary. This causes a few problems. First, you can't go back to the ones below without closing the ones on top, they go away and if you're trying to reference previous "pages" you keep having to go back and forth, sometimes between multiple layers of pages. It's extremely annoying and very unintuitive. There are plenty more examples of its design ineptitude, but I'll give 1 more: The way you edit the "pages" is to aim for a tiny little edit button on the very bottom of the sidebar. And your edits are not applied until you click "done" which appears in the same place. If you accidentally exit the "page", it loses all your edits. And it's waaaay too easy to accidentally exit a page. You should be able to open these "pages" in a new tab, or window, or anything else besides its current functionality.

DayLite helps me and my team stay on top of our daily issues in a way that is better than any tool I have seen or used.

Pros

I have been using DayLite since version 1.x, so you can say that I'm a happy camper. DayLite is so featured rich that there is always a way to solve what you need. The features I make most use of is :
• Task Management where it is fantastic to be able to delegate tasks as well as having full control over what to do and when.
• Mail integration that makes it easy to store mail that are connected to Opportunities or tasks.
• Calendar integration that helps me see who I met where and when.
• Opportunity Management that helps me stay on top of deals and quotas.
• Last but not least - I'm always in sync, I have a local copy of the database no need to be connected to the Internet at all times.
...and much more.

Cons

The possibilities with all features is also a potential risk that you lose your self in the software - so I think it is a good idea to make use of any of the professional consultants that are part of the network. When I started with DayLite I was on my own and I could probably have reached my goals a lot faster with some help.
I also really miss that I can not handle multiple currencies without having to buy an expensive add-on.

1. My primary contact list, especially for business associates and friends​ globally from my working life.
2. List of domestic service providers with all relevant data such as contact details, account numbers etc. I have created forms as records of vehicle and equipment maintenance. All these can be linked including receipts imported as pdfs.
3. Domestic and community project management where suppliers, venues, resources, tasks, schedules/pipelines and receipts are linked.

Pros

Almost infinitely customisable fields, keywords etc. for fast data search and smart lists.
A CRM database, with the added functions of project management and data forms.
Automatic copying of e-mails to companies and people​.
Ability to telephone from the app.
Ability to create templates and forms.
Linking of people, companies, tasks, correspondence​ and files such as receipts to a project, for example.
Not enough time to list all its amazing features!

Cons

Daylite is aimed at the corporate market. The switch to subscription service will sooner or later make it unaffordable for me as a retiree using Daylite for non-commercial personal and community projects. Marketcircle really should offer​ a lower cost version for personal use.
Because Daylite is so highly customisable, you need to have a very clear idea of what data you need and how you will use it before starting. However, once you have it set-up to your liking it is intuitive and simple with the aid of templates and forms etc.

Daylite is a robust contact management program. It is great for a single user or larger organization with multiple users tracking multiple projects. Any questions or issues are addressed quickly by their customer support team. Not only do they follow up quickly, they follow up days later to insure the problem has been resolved.

Cons

Finding a criticism is tough. I would think one would be that uncompleted tasks do not roll over to the next day automatically. Moving them is easy enough. As a single user I am sure I am not using the full functionality of the program so I would not be able to highlight any underlying annoyances.

In the Mac world this program has no equal in terms of the flexibility and the power of built in features and the ability to add on modules that your business needs. When you have questions or problems their system for customer support is better than ANY I have ever dealt with inside and out of the software world.

Cons

There is a steep learning curve to get to the full functionality of the product but that does not prevent you from utilizing what you need to begin with and they have great training videos.

Pros

It is complete (no stones left unturned) for building a complete customer and prospect database. I've been on several and this one is the best.

Cons

I'm not a tech person so I guess I would say it can stump sometimes on things that I must learn.

Daylite helps me get clients information quickly and easily. I can sink the info into other programs that my company uses so that we can keep everything organized.

Pros

It is pretty user friendly. It helps me stay on task and organized for the company.

Cons

The only issue I have is if I enter a "new person" and if any of their information is duplicated from a previous client, such as their address, I would like for it to tell me that before or after I save the new clients information.

I want to love Daylite. If the reporting were more robust, I would be THRILLED to stick with it. But without reporting and analysis, it is more like a glorified Contact Manager, Appointment Calendar and Task List--which is why my staff loves it. Unfortunately, I need business intelligence, and Daylite doesn't provide that.

Pros

It lives on the Mac desktop, like a "real" business application; not on a browser where it is too easy to get distracted. Awesome. It works on Mac. Excellent.

It takes some forethought to get it set up, but once set up it is flexible enough to handle unique needs. I initially loved that. Activity Sets automatically create Meetings and Tasks based on date (but there are huge problems, noted below).

Daylite does an excellent job of tracking individual events for each Person.

Cons

While Activity Sets do a good job of creating a series of upcoming Meetings and Tasks, Daylite has no idea that these "events" must exist in series. A meeting is a meeting is a meeting and a Task is a Task is a Task. This makes reporting next to impossible... Daylite cannot generate a report of how many People made it to one Meeting, but not to the next Meeting. It cannot tell me how many Phone Calls (each entered as a separate Task), for example, were made to a Lead before they came in for that first meeting.

Daylite uses Categories to keep track of People. A Person might begin with a category of 'Lead', then change to a category of 'Client', then have category 'Completed'. (We actually had 5 primary categories, each with subcategories to help us understand each client) The problem is that there is no history. Reporting, again, is nearly impossible: Daylite can give raw counts: How many People were added in the last 7 days? How many Leads do we now have? Etc. But these reports are a snapshot of current data. Once a Person moves to the next Category, I can no longer get an accurate report of: How many new leads were added last week? What is our conversion ratio? How long did they exist as Leads?

The Report Module is very limited. Custom Reporting is available but requires a 3rd party programmer.

Piplelines proved too clunky.

Our team deals with 100 to 200 persons a day. Daylite is the best CRM for us when it comes to filters, reports, analysis and bulk edits. It easily integrates with all other tools via Zapier.

Cons

It should support Gmail and not just Apple Mail.

A great CRM, a little pricy for a solo preneur as I am, and with dedicated times you can master it.

Pros

Dailylite is a great CRM, many many options and custom possiblities and I like that it is linked to Billings Pro for invoicing and proposals.

Cons

I found this software a little hard to master, and the graphic interface needs more love. A little pricy.

The functionality is kind of like working with windows which is actually a con.

THE UPDATES! Please get it right and stop with the updates! It's every two days.

Pros

The integration between iOS and OS X make this the most powerful CRM on the market for small businesses running Macs. Making calls, reviewing notes, following up with customers, and formulating campaigns are brilliantly seamless with Daylite.

Cons

While it’s a solid, unhesitatingly buy for Mac shops, it’s unable to integrate well with A heterogenous shop— PCs and Androids don’t play well with it.

All of our emails are synced into Daylite. They're all associated with the email address but kept in the same place. For instance, if me and my coworker are emailing the same client, we can see all the emails that have ever been sent to that client. This is great because it allows us to be up to date with the client and know what's going on with them.
Another great thing about Daylite is that it's kind of like a family tree in the sense that you can connect different contacts to each other. An example of this is being able to connect office managers, spouses, co-workers to one main boss or business. It's simple to do and easy for the user because then you can see who is involved with the main person.

Cons

Sometimes the emails sync more than once. Makes it difficult to easily see the correspondence to and from different emails.

The interface is really easy to use and fairly comprehensive, it's great for team working and collaborating for projects. The integration with Apple email makes it easy to create task from incoming emails.

Cons

The fact that it's Apple exclusive, being one of its biggest strengths, is also kind of a limitation for users with Android devices or Windows laptops.
