Logikcull Software


 

Logikcull is a cloud-based system for managing the process of legal discovery. With Logikcull, practices are able to drag and drop files, search, cull and create discovery productions within a secure system.

Logikcull makes documents accessible via mobile phones, tablets and smartwatches.

With Logikcull, documents are automatically de-duplicated and de-nisted; metadata, attachments and text are preserved and searchable; every document is converted into a PDF format to review and use in productions; and images are automatically OCR’d through Logikcull’s partnership with Abbyy.

In Logikcull, users are able to find relevant and non-relevant documents through the program’s Culling Intelligence engine, and production templates can be created and saved for future use. Practices are also able to produce in PDF or TIFF formats either with or without endorsements and flatten and OCR redacted files to ensure non-redacted information is not produced.

This is an absolute fantastic platform. I deal with 1000s of files on regular basis and their search capability is by far the best. You really can't beat the price and pay as you go structure either.

Pros

Step 1: Drag & drop files into browser. Step 2: Get to work on the project.
(It's really that easy)

Cons

There are none unless you really enjoy spending lots of money. (I do not)

Can't think of anything. I've used this product for about 2 years off-and-on and it just keeps getting better.

Recommendations

If you use the software all the time, what tools are provided to batch, streamline, or reproduce the work process? If you don't get to use it often, how easy is it to pick up and use quickly and effectively, and how responsive is technical support? How intuitive are the online tutorials when you are under the gun and need to figure something out right away on your own, or in the middle of the night? Logikcull has both ends of this spectrum completely covered.

Logikcull makes other document processing and review products look their age. It's seamless UI and powerful processing ability set it apart from the competition and it represents the future of e-discovery products.

Likes Least

Nothing. When they have problems, they fix them as fast as you can report them. I've never encountered a product that implements user suggestions like they do.

Recommendations

Think towards the future and don't get caught up in the established and out-dated softwear available from other providers.

The product is very easy to navigate; it has a simple but effective interface with tons of power search tools and the ability to output document production in multiple formats. Logik is a great company to work with, their tech support always responds quickly with useful answers and they are very open to customer feedback.

Likes Least

The document previewer is a little slow to load larger(100+ page pdfs and etc.). Also the ability to do certain things like delete a document upload set from a project would be nice.

Recommendations

Temper your expectations going in. This a very useful product to assist with e-discovery but it doesn't do everything and it's built around the concept of power searching so you'll need to have some idea about what you expect to get out of the data you input. Try not to be overwhelmed at first glace. The interface has a great many options, settings, and filters. It's easy to get lost at first but once you get used to it you'll find it's very intuitive and powerful.

Logikcull is easy to use and is the only e-discovery software company of which I am aware that offers a free account up to 100 Mb. The software works on any platform and device. Uploading is easy and fast. The software makes it easy to handle any amount of data more efficiently.

Likes Least

I am told that Logikcull is improving the flexibility of its production/download capabilities. It already is a very effective component, but there are improvements that are apparently in the works that will make it even easier to use.

Recommendations

Fully test the software and use it in a case so you utilize every component and aspect of the software to provide a comprehensive and accurate assessment.

Easy to get started and minimal buy in. The pricing is also predictable and reasonable.

Likes Least

The double edged sword of simple cloud services is that they are hosted off site. The speed won't compare with something hosted in house for most folks.

Recommendations

Religiously try multiple products, don't just do demos. Demos are good, but until you're in the thick of it, you really won't know the product.

The product/service saves me time and my clients money while providing state-of-the art quality. My only fear is that we are seeing start-up price points that could rise over time. I certainly hope that does not happen.

Pros

The pricing enables access to an extremely sophisticated e-discovery tool even for the small-budget case.

Cons

It is not wholly intuitive. A missed step or a misunderstood function here or there can mean having to repeat a task. The learning curve is steep. However, support is excellent and the product is forgiving.

When we needed to monitor our reviewers, it was very difficult to see who did what (logged out, review rate).

Pros

Logikcull is a great program and what I liked most is the short learning curve. IT's easy to implement and the customer service is SUPREME!!! Any time day or night and team member is there to guide the way.

Cons

What I like least is the lack of features. In the field, the direct comparison is RELATIVITY. It needs to do everything relativity does basically... and right now it does not. The syntax are helpful, however, they are hard to remember and hard to find.

Logikcull streamlines document review in a revolutionary way.

Pros

Logikcull made reviewing, sorting, and organizing voluminous documents very easy. The best part is it recognizes text in PDFs and other documents without a conversion process, and you can search these documents with ease to find key words or phrases you are looking for. Great product!

Cons

Since this is a web-based document review, there was some lag time in opening each document as I sifted through them. It is unclear whether this was an issue on my end or the product's.

I needed to sort through a few hundred emails in anticipation of a potential law suit. We only used the program at it's most basic capability level as we were able to settle our dispute before serious legal maneuvers were required. Customer support was good.

Pros

I'm an older person (78) and don't like most software because it's not intuitive for guys who grew up without computers, but this program was reasonably easy to use

Cons

It's a bit hard to weed the advanced features and get to the basic features someone with simple needs wants

Makes it easy to track, redact, produce, and provide records and privilege logs. There is a chat feature to ask questions as they come up during the process. The OCR works great.

There's a learning curve. It's pretty short, and there is a chat function to guide you through it, but it exists.

The best part about Logickull by far is that it is cloud-hosted in a secure environment and does not require physical servers to operate. The platform is also robust in it's predictive coding capabilities and has been successfully used for both internal investigations and litigation-based document discovery productions.

Cons

The user interface could use some work when compared to its competitors. The searching interface also could be better improved for speed in constructing, saving, and running searches through the database. Additionally, the predictive coding, while often good, does produce inconsistent results at times despite ensured accuracy in the seed sets.

Great tagging and commenting features; allows to share easily with others; intuitive organizing helps share many documents with others easily

Cons

After commenting or tagging a document, a banner reading "comment added" or "tag added" or something similar flashes on the top of the screen, getting in the way of many toolbar features. It stays there several seconds, which slows down reviewing thousands of pages.

Pros

Cons

I loaded, translated and reviewed Asian character text with no need to call and complain to anyone.

Pros

My use is geared toward cross border matters and unlike any other tool I have used everything was calibrated toward the Asian character text smoothly displying in no time.

Cons

I be in touch when I find this one ... perhaps I could not pick about some challenges that disappeared by the second time I used it, so I won't.

Pros

The best part is the outstanding customer service. Immediate, friendly, knowledgeable. If you run into any issues, give them a call and they will guide you through it.

It streamlines document productions and gives my attorneys the ability to focus on quickly reviewing documents. I spent more time preparing documents for production than actually reviewing them.

Pros

Importing documents is simple, easy, and reliable. Being able to drag a PST file onto the loading page, walk away for 5 minutes, come back and immediately start reviewing was awesome. I've actually recommended this software to two people and counting.

Cons

I'd like an invoice detailing how much of my monthly bill went to each project. It would make it easier to bill clients.

Logikcull easily does all the hard work that users used to have to do - load files are "drag-n-drop" simple, productions are easily managed and created, non-technical attorneys who never could figure out Concordance or Summation can relate to and use this with minimal support.

Cons

Pricing is not transparent. The sales rep has to talk to the sales manager about everything and it seems that pricing strategies are based upon your circumstance.

What I liked best about the software was how easy it was to start a project and build your team. How easy it was to upload data and then start using Tags.
Very intuitive tools like using the filters and saving your searches.
How easy it was to see ROI!

Cons

I wish there was a way in Logikull to Zip an Unzip the data instead of using an outside tool to Zip the files.

Saves time and money and is very user friendly.

Pros

Entire batches of documents within a project can be reviewed at once with simple search features that are easy enough for anyone to understand how to use. Additionally, any time I've gotten stuck on any issue or have questions about any of the features, I'm able to chat immediately with one of the techs and they've always been able to figure out what I need to do or how I need to do it.

Cons

Doesn't let you format the text entered as the message on the email circulated when sharing files, but that's a minor cosmetic issue/preference.

Facilitate my job as a paralegal when it comes to reviewing document production.

Pros

How easy it is to review document production and label and take notes in regards to the documents you are viewing.

Cons

I would like to be able to text search within the actual document I am viewing rather than the Text view option you currently have since I have to go back into the original document and locate my search query. Also the saving feature of the notes the way its currently set up sometime I loose my notes since a return is saving - maybe prompt the user before closing a note with a dialog box reminding them if they want to save their notes.

What I like the most about this software is the ease of use for attorneys and paralegals and the ability to load, review, and produce information and data directly without significant additional hourly processing fees. Sending production links directly from the software is also very helpful because it eliminates the need to create a separate file link or FTP transfer.

Cons

Again, while my experience to date is somewhat limited, I would like to see the ability to have a separate viewer on another display in order to make document review a bit more efficient.
