Value for Money

It is a good platform that quickly automates your email marketing campaign projects by collecting subscriptions from a mailing list already obtained or generating more subscriptions. All that without mentioning the affordable price to any company, big or small.

Pros

It integrates very well with several websites where several data are processed as well as with several CRMs making an easier job when transferring information. It contains many very robust and affordable features for any type of user with different needs, thus being able to create fully personalized email marketing campaigns. The response time also gives points in favor to this software, its attention is fast.

Cons

You should have a multitasking so you can manage different campaigns more quickly. The app on android should improve, sometimes it closes as it gets slow, thus preventing the use of the mima. Another problem is when passing information from one campaign to another, having to start from scratch makes the process of creating an email slow.

They should keep its pricing more competitive.

Pros

I found it very effective application for sending newsletters to my clients. It gives me accuracy and early responses. Its email design editor is very simple and user friendly. I can create newsletters in very less time.

Cons

I found its campaign report analysis feature is not as per my expectations. It should be easy to understand and more detailed.

Pros

It us a tool for marketing automation at the same time your sales CRM. With its automation, it gives me more time to focus on my other tasks such as telemarketing and closing more sales. It has unique features such as Win Probability and Lead Scoring that help me focus on leads that has a better sales opportunity. It has 14 day trial period for you to try all its features before you decide if you want to subscribe or not. Since it is also a CRM,no need to use another tool for that which lets me save money and time.

Cons

It is not that easy to use and you can struggle a bit on how things can be done. Support is not consistent. Sometimes they can be fast and some times they can be slow.

Pros

It's so easy to use and the automation processes are intuitive. This system's lead scoring feature is great for keeping our top prospects at the top of our list.

Cons

The lists aren't as dynamic as we would like them to be. Also, for the migration process, you're pretty much on your own if your former CRM isn't on their list of approved CRMs.

This system offers everything a marketer needs in one login. I love the reports and tracking that can be set up for each campaign and also love the CRM system for tracking leads. It is so simple to set up an advisor with a user to be able to view and track their leads through custom follow up systems and pipelines

Cons

The pricing scale is easily scale able for mainly small businesses. Although I needed to exceed their pricing chart, they made a great deal with me since I needed over 200,000 contacts space.

Automate the marketing and segment your most valued and active prospects.

Pros

The automation of emails works great in ActiveCampaign, we can automate the right content to the prospect according to their responses and frequent behaviour.
- Integrating the marketing and sales processes has made the approach very easy and effective.
- We can see how the prospect is responding to the emails or the marketing content sent to them so that the sales team can make a productive approach.
- Creating leads was one task, but creating genuine leads and making them a win can be achieved through ActiveCampaign.

Cons

Need improvements in API access, reports and definitely the customer support, if they make the customer support more frequent, can be a better option than other software, who are charging higher.

I'm sure this has a great use somewhere or with some type of business, but for our clinic's use it just didn't work. Almost no response. We do not have a set person over marketing so it ended up taking too much extra time to get something going.

Pros

It is a really fair as far as cost is concerned. It can be customized if you're will to put in the time. (we were, but to no avail) When you get all the tracking to work the reports can (in theory) be very helpful.

Cons

I had a number of my attempts go straight to spam. The reporting is not up to the simplicity/ease-of-use standard of other options out there. It took at least 45 minutes to put together something that didn't look childish or amateur.

Pros

I've always seen Hubspot and Marketo as platforms that do everything - and cost more than I can spend. After finally spending time with them, yeah, they're cool, and I believe packaged platforms will increase as time goes on, but for now nothing compares to using ActiveCampaign for automation and a solid custom stack. And I'd call ActiveCampaign the core.

Cons

The forms aren't great compared to Gravity, but duh. The email builder is pretty weak - who cares? The CRM is alright, but I'd link it to another. The automation and other services are brutally efficient.

Value for Money

Pros

- simple and easy to use/set up
- contact import is really nice
- has a lot of zapier connections/integrations
- automation functionality is really nice for simple drip email campaigns
- contact search can get pretty granular
- support can be helpful, but usually slow
- has a lot of options for email sends (one-off, time-based, a/b tests, etc.)
- has site tracking and event tracking capability whereas most low-cost automation platforms only do site
- lots of if/then conditional triggers for automations so you can get pretty targeted with your emails
- really cheap if you're looking for an automation platform that has all the essentials

Cons

- limited API use; their API is bad
- custom event recording is pretty hit or miss, isn't in real time and often get a lot of rate limiting/errors
- their reporting is pretty garbage... can't manipulate data, export results, or anything
- seems to go down more often than it should which really impacts customers
- not a lot of out-of-the-box integrations with other big software platforms
- you can't send an email within an automation drip on a specific date or time... just date/time intervals
- missing some small, but key functionality that most other big automation platforms have

The tech support is the worst, i try calling for 3 month no one pick up the phone it sims to me like they see the caller ID on the phone and they don't pick up the phone, had problems sending out email and setting up the picture, I sent them a nasty email and they told me we cant give you any support because you only pay some amount a month i was not told that, i only had 50 contacts and only sent out a email 3 to 4 time a year, well we went with Constant Contact they did me a favor what a difference the nicest people you can deal with. there program is a lat friendly to work with and someone picks up the phone within a few. I highly recommend Constant Contact.

Cons

The tech support is the worst and there platform not friendly to work with.

Automations are VISUAL - this was a must-have for me, you can literally see the automation workflow and this makes creating automations very easy.
Drag and drop email design. I had a miserable experience with another email marketing app that loved HTML and Liquid. I hated that app. I lvoe Active Campaign because I can easily create beautiful emails without literally learning two programming languages. I'm a marketer not I.T!

I've had a good experience with ActiveCampaign and sent many thousands of emails with this software without any issues. The reporting is top notch and it's good to get live data feedback on how your campaigns are performing.

Pros

I think the best feature of this software is how easy it was to use. You didn't need to know much about email marketing to get setup and be sending good looking emails to your customers. The dashboard and reporting features are sleek and easy to navigate through. The present the data clearly and in a pleasant to view manner. They also have many templates to create new campaigns with and you can edit them without needing to know HTML.

Cons

The only downside I can think of is that there are so many features that I don't use and I don't really know how to use. That's more on me than ActiveCampaign though. If I wanted to use those features I could easily look at their documentation to implement.

Pros

I love ActiveCampaign for the fact that you can put Tags onto contacts and that you can run Automations with it that simply work. The visual composer for your automation flows make it very easy to set them up. Deliverability of what I have seen so far is very good. Many native integration with SaaS.

Cons

Well the Design does not look very modern anymore. However, everything works so probably no need to change it. More native integrations with Apps.

ActiveCampaign has everything, and I'm not having to workaround missing features. Not every process is as slick as I would like, but that happens with more powerful apps. But I haven't had to wonder whether ActiveCampaign can do anything, because the answer is that it can. Highly recommended. It's worth spending a few bucks more on a system that is here for the long haul and has everything most businesses will need for email marketing.

Pros

I love that ActiveCampaign is fully fleshed out. I use a lot of smaller apps, and there are usually features missing. But I recently started using ActiveCampaign for email automation and campaigns, and it just has everything. And the cost for the core functionality is actually more affordable than I thought it would be. ActiveCampaign is widely known as one of the best email marketing applications, and it is.

Cons

I wish there was a smaller plan for those wanting the full-sized CRM. Right now, the starting price for those wanting the full CRM is a plan with 25 users. I just need a couple. So the price for jumping up to that is a bit steep for a small business.

ActiveCampaign makes my email marketing simpler and as easy as it can be. The dashboard lets me see analytics in one spot and the customer service is very helpful.

Pros

I love how intuitive the setup is- I was an email marketing software newbie and MailChimp drove me batty, so when ActiveCampaign was recommended, I was wary. It has exceeded my expectations and has been a great experience! Even when I can't read the directions correctly and set something up incorrectly, the customer service team is quick to help, and even send a video of what to do in my account so I can just follow the steps.

Cons

I would like extended customer service hours- I do my email marketing at the end of the day and there often isn't a live tech to chat to after 7 pm EST.

Great. I would 100% recommend AC to someone who is getting started in business and wants to implement advanced marketing campaigns. However, once you scale over 50k contacts, I would move out of Active Campaign because of the difficulties to segment contacts and send broadcasts. (AC: you should imitate Ontraport or Influsionsoft for your broadcast segmentation)

Pros

The price point to the functionalities is GREAT! Meaning, if I'm getting started with my business, and I have my budget limited, this is the BEST tool to get started.

Cons

The segmentation to send broadcasts is very confusing and difficult to use. And I'm saying this as a software developer, so I'm very familiar with IF and OR functions, but the user interface, and the display make things very hard to use.

My overall thoughts are that while ActiveCampaign isn't the worst option for mass email, there are certainly better ones out there.

Pros

I will start with listing out the few things I do like about Active Campaign. It's not the worst I've seen by any means, but there are much better programs out there that can do much more.

1) The home page is customizable which lets you have the data you need right at your fingertips.

2) The reporting on campaigns is actually really nice and shows you exactly what you need to see.

3) Writing emails is distraction free and lets you do the basic task of writing an email. It doesn't give you a lot of unneeded and unnecessary options.

Cons

Active Campaign has a lot of room for improvement. Maybe it's just me, but I don't enjoy using it when I login. I am left with a clunky user experience and I am just not a fan. It's one of those things thats hard to bring down into words, but I will share what I don't like about it here.

1) It's list centric vs. subscriber centric. ConvertKit is a competitor that uses a subscriber centric model and I think it works much better. The entire point of building an email list is to build relationships with folks, and when you have a list centric email list this function gets more difficult as the same person could be on multiple lists.

2) I don't like the inability to easily see where subscribers are coming from. It takes some digging to find a screen that clearly displays how you are getting subscribers. I feel that this is an oversight as the very first thing I want to see is how I am getting new subscribers. I like to know whats working or not!

3) I don't like that it's not intuitive overall. It feels clunky and not like a new tool. It feels outdated and thus I don't enjoy using it.

Pros

This is my favourite application for email marketing automation, as the campaing planning system is so intuitive and easy, that it lets me create new complicated campaign very quickly

Cons

The pricing can become very expensive if you have a lot of contacts, but definitely the quality of the service repays it

Pros

I wish I could say something here, but I really don't have any pros. I'm the developer hooking it up to our app, not the user so maybe the users would have something good to say, but it's a real pain to use their API.

Cons

There API is terrible. V2 is HORRIBLY inconsistent in both values it accepts, and responses that it returns. V3 is pretty barebones at the moment. There's a lot in V2 that hasn't been added to V3 yet. Documentation for V2 is incorrect in a lot of places, so you're left to guessing what values it might take and using trial and error. V3 documentation is better, but again, that API isn't fully fleshed out yet.
