It's to use, a lot of functions, a good way for email campaign, great money value, your solution to marketing, and report function is great as well.

MailChimp Marketing Software

Ease-of-use

Functionality

Customer Support

Value for Money

Overall MailChimp is an easy to use and powerful marketing tool. It's certainly worth a look and a test drive at very least, especially if your company is budget conscious. If you are looking for a more complex and robust system, you may want to keep looking, but at least give MailChimp a test drive, you may be surprised at all it can do for you.

Pros

MailChimp is fairly easy to setup and use from the start. It integrates well with Salesforce and the reporting ability on both the MailChimp side and Salesforce side is done quite well. Lists are easy to setup and use and it can deduplicate contacts within an individual list. It also offers bounce reports and those bounces, when MC is integrated with Salesforce, report directly back to Salesforce in the standard out of the box bounce alert.

Cons

MailChimp is designed for the average user and not so much for a high-end marketing team. It's simple easy to use style can at times be overly simplistic and not allow for the customizations that can be needed at times. One thing that I have come across, and MailChimp is not the only one to do this, is that reporting is done at the list level and not so much at the Group level. To keep costs down, the recommendation is to create a mast list and groups within the master list. Campaigns can be sent to groups so they are more targeted, but when reporting is done at the list level and not group level, you lose insight into where you are hitting and missing your target audience. Additionally, contact deduplication can only be done within a list and not across lists.

Value for Money

I love the accessibility of features and customization for MailChimp. I can create beautiful emails to send out to thousands of people and they will never know I did it all at home in my pajamas!

Pros

I love Mailchimp. I think it's accessible, easy to use, and they offer great values for little to no cost (seriously, even their free plan works better than you would expect for a free plan to work). I'm constantly able to send out monthly newsletters that look professional and get our name out- something every small business needs!

Cons

The customer service can be very lacking sometimes (especially if you aren't on the paid plans) and restrictions are unclear. I used to use MailChimp for a real estate marketing campaign, and one day they just kicked me off and did not send out my scheduled campaigns, even though I had been following all the rules and making sure my work was compliant. Big bummer. However, I continue to use MailChimp for other business needs and it works well.

If you find yourself needing help, theri FAQ and customer service reps help out tremendously!

Pros

Customizable, drag and drop, full preview in real time. Easy to find your pictures/ products and attach. Very clean website so finding everything is a breeze. Very well done overall.

Cons

Other than not having a place to add just one email (which is not really intended to do for) you have to create a list of just one person to send to one person. Other than that, works great!

Simple, simple formatting and excellent user interface. There's not much that's confusing on mailchimp which is excellent. Also very solid connection engines - you can do anything between mailchimp and Zapier.

Landing pages are kind of weak, I wish they were excellent - they should buy a competitor here so they can crush it. Also the 1k limit can be frustrating, but I understand the reasoning.

Great email management system to boost marketing

Ease-of-use

Functionality

Customer Support

Value for Money

It is a solid tool, which provides the opportunity to effectively develop marketing activities and improve communication with all potential customers and customers. It also provides detailed analysis that yields excellent results thus contributing to great progress and to deepen much more in the complete study of emails, means by which we do campaigns and promote much more our services.

Pros

With MailChimp, the work now is much simpler, it allows me to connect with clients or potential clients through email to perform marketing tasks. It is amazing that I have free access for a large number of subscribers in my lists, if I want to add more than the limit, I have to pay for it, it is reasonable that it increases according to the subscribers that I have. It is very transparent and clear with everything, every time I exceed the subscriber limit, the monthly bill increases, shows the change of payment, so that I can already make the monthly payment with clarity of what I am paying. It is completely automated with regard to emails and that is the best of all, since it allows an effective connection with all customers. The configuration and customization is quick and easy. In addition to being a tool for fast connection with all customers, thanks to the automation of emails, it also offers the possibility of creating landing pages or advertising on social networks, it is totally versatile and adapts completely to my work.

Cons

It really is incredible software, with incredible functions.
But it has so many tools that it is a little complicated to manage and control each of them. It can be a bit overwhelming to be able to get involved with each of the characteristics that it has. However I can be guided by the frequent questions or by the assistance of the technical support that explains each step to me step. In this way I have managed to understand much better its functionality and I have been able to customize everything according to how you need it. It handles a very technical language for professionals, it is vital to handle the subject in order to understand the system much better, otherwise it is complicated.

We use MailChimp for sending out invitations for monthly community events. We've set up a few templates, but we mostly always use the same one. We regularly import our list of participants from Eventbrite and the whole thing is mostly low maintenance!

Pros

It's the most easy to use software I know. There is virtually no learning curve, just jump right in and start creating emails. The email editor works with drag and drop and there's pretty much every widget you need to create beautiful mailings. You can save templates and reuse them, and you can also create a new campaign based on a previous campaign so it's really easy to resend an email. You can also schedule to send at a later date, which is really convenient when you are working off hours!

Cons

Honestly, there isn't much I don't like about MailChimp. It's got all I need and it's free!

I have only ever used the free level of Mailchimp. As with most things, I would guess higher utilization and benefit from higher buy in. I know they are respected and used by big and small groups with big and small list sizes.

Pros

It's simple. It's easy to use.
Anyone can jump into Mailchimp and make some email broadcasts for their cooking class, biking club, or even corporate Christmas party.

Cons

Preparing emails in their builder can result in lost work if not saved before leaving the builder page - of course, right? Just something to be aware of as a user.
If you're not running a segmented list structure for you business, this may not be for you because it will ask you to create columns for your people - that said, that's a very good way to run/operate an email list.

I've been using Mailchimp for a few years, I think the overall experience is quite good, with improved focus on how to set up and execute your campaigns. I think it's a great way to get started when you have zero budget and a small database, and to grow things from there. This is the tool I used to get started and allowed me to get started in the emailing field. The reporting metrics are of great use as the allow you to take decisions based on your email performance.

Cons

Back in the day when I started, it was not very clear how to setup your first emailing. For beginners the differences between campaigns, lists, templates and metrics may be a bit overwhelming. Pros

With my 2 years experience with MailChimp, no time have ever seen Mailchimp powered email in my personal spam box, it always get delivered to main inbox of my recipients because MailChimp designed a very compulsive policies of crafting constructive email, even their slogan is "Send Better Email", all this is done to fight spam and promote quality email.

MailChimp dashboard is user friendly, with tips and straightforward tasks for users to fully understand the functionalities, even a non- tech savvy can operate MailChimp.

Cons

As at the time I started using MailChimp 2 years ago I enjoyed using "Autoresponder", but now Mailchimp has stopped instead they do "Automation flows".

Another cons on Mailchimp default signup forms is that you can't easily or quickly edit it to your preferred style, to do this you'll have to go just like you're building a new form workflow and navigate to translation settings then re-save your form.

Pros

I am using Mandrill for its transactional email sending, very cost effective and has great deliverability, the reports allow us to keep our lists clean from any bounces.

Cons

I would prefer it Mandrill Transactional email pricing was not reliant upon having a MailChimp Newsletter package.

Marketing automation is easier with Mailchimp. Learning curve is a little high, but once you get it, life is a bit easier.

Pros

The first tier is free so if you don't have a lot of emails, this is good for you.

Cons

Not entirely intuitive; has a little bit of a learning curve. There are a lot of tutorials on Youtube, however.

When I first began doing some email marketing I used Mailchimp because I could do so for free as I was just starting out. It seemed clunky and didn't make sense to me. Someone told me about Convertkit (a competitor) and I switched because it's so much more user friendly and just makes sense to me.

Pros

I liked that I could use it for free as I was first learning about email marketing.

Cons

I found it really difficult to use and thought things I was trying to do were put in weird spots and were difficult to get to.
