Sevocity is a cloud-based medical solution best suited to solo and small group practices seeking an Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. The system was designed to assist users with the documentation and patient care process. 

Sevocity is currently used by practices in over 30 specialties and offers specialized features for OB/GYN and pediatrics. The system’s content and features can be customized to meet the workflow of solo and small group practices in a number of other specialties, including internal medicine, community health centers, pain management and more.

Sevocity is ONC 2014 Edition compliant, and many EHR features are included at no additional charge - including ePrescribing, eFaxing, a patient portal, customization assistance, web training and 24/7 US-based customer support.

I would recommend Sevocity to any medical practice that is seeking to acquire compliance with CMS.

Pros

Navigating the system is very simplistic. The templates are developed to work with the practice's specialty.

Cons

It is clear to see why Sevocity is considered to be one the top medical software on the market, but the cost of this software will have others looking for different options.

The salesperson made his pitch he STATED that I would have a 60-day trial. No mention of 100 encounters must be made within the 60 day period which included training time. It was imperative to sign up before the end of the year to avoid start-up costs. If I was not satisfied with the product all of my money would be returned. He also assured me that the program would be customized to fit the needs of my practice. NEITHER of these is true. It was a complete misrepresentation of the facts.
This is not a program for Doctors starting a practice. The program was NOT customizable, and there was NO SUCH THING as a money back guarantee.

Dr. Davis, I am very sorry if there was any confusion about our Two Month Guarantee. We do many things to ensure customers understand the requirements. The requirement for finalizing encounters is covered in our standard demo introduction, on our pricing webpage (http://www.sevocity.com/custom-ehr-solutions/pricing/), the pricing sheet you were emailed, and also included in the customer agreement:

"The two (2) month period begins on the Go Live Date specified on the Activate SEVOCITY® Enrollment & Signature Form. In order to qualify for this Section 4.5, Licensee must submit payment for Start-up Fees and the first month of Monthly Fees pursuant to the Agreement and pay for the second month of Monthly Service Fees when invoiced. Licensee must also finalize a minimum of one hundred (100) encounters for each Provider contracted for during the two (2) month period.”

We require the usage because we want to ensure the provider gives the system a chance before deciding to cancel. However, if they do the required encounters and decide to cancel we certainly honor the agreement and refund all amounts they have paid to us. Otherwise, we are going to considerable expense to implement and would be providing refunds for customers who didn’t complete the implementation or try to use the system.

We are more than happy to work with you and extend the 60 day period in order to give you time to be fully trained and to use Sevocity for the 100 encounters. If the 100 encounters is too many for you based on the size of your practice, we are also more than happy to work with you to determine a feasible number of encounters.

Honestly nothing comes to mind - if we want a change we send a product request form to Sevocity and developments reviews our requests. They meet my needs and expectations

Recommendations

It is very important that you know the steps (process) your business goes through to enter a patient, evaluate them, handle referrals and prescribe for them. What information do you want to see when scheduling an appt (I want to see Balances and Insurance Information) You also want to know operationally how with the new software improve your productivity - Sevocity has excellent method of internal communicating with staff and providers. Last but not least be knowledgeable as to what the providers and staff require from the software to make it more productive for your organization.

It's user-friendly, and they have a great first line support team. Usually the first line support takes care of my issue.

Special requests for enhancements sometimes takes long to implement, if at all.

Recommendations

It's cost efficient, I like that I don't have to pay much, AND it's cloud based.

Cons

Only one person can edit a patient's chart at a time. So If you've got several people in the office, make sure they close out the charts otherwise it will create a lot of wasted time.

If I could get out, I would. The fact that one person only can be in the chart is ridiculous. It will slow down your pace and make your flow less efficient.
If I had to do it over again, I would not purchase this system.

Pros

Relatively easy to learn the software.

Cons

1. Only one person can be in the chart at one time - so your staff cannot help you enter information if you are in the chart. Very inefficient!
2. No ipad or iphone app
3. Every time an update is made the system becomes more burdensome
4. We give suggestions to improve the system - positive changes are never made.

My clinic notes and more complete and truly capture the entire encounter within minutes, charts are completed before the patient leaves the parking lot. Evaluation reviews by insurance companies have been spot on meeting their requirements.

Pros

Intensity and completeness. Patient history templates are in such depth and the ease of completion is unbelievable.

Cons

Nothing, this software is outstanding. My only regret is that I didn’t purchase it when I first learned of it years ago.

Ease of use. The software is intuitive . The ability to combine a narrative and "box checking" / templated documentation is a positive-----the patient's story and treatment is logical and easily retrievable. When new staff is added they catch on quick. This software is not so robust that it is overwhelming to a new staff member. .

Cons

It would be helpful to see past vitals on the same screen as current vital sign entry . Trends would be less likely to be over looked.

I really like Sevocity. I have used other electronic EHR systems, and realized that Sevocity is wonderful, Again, very user friendly and allows for a lot of migrating of information with only a few or one step. Screens are easy to read and find patient information. I really like, wish other sites I work for used it. :-)

Pros

Continuity of usage. One stop for EHR input, uploading, electronic transfers. In-house communication among staff. Easy to learn and user-friendly.

Cons

Was sometimes difficult to decipher some of the new features. Such as routing, etc. but once understood, it was easy.
