Pros

I like that it is detailed and any information can be input and easily found. I personally use it to access records and information for one of the facilities I work with and have been pleased with the ease of navigating it.

Cons

I am still fairly new to using TherapyNotes and have not yet experienced anything negative. There was a short period of maintenance where it could not be accessed but it didn't affect me much and is expected.

Recommended for all health clinics, very functional and easy to use.

Pros

So functional. It is what every mental clinics must have. It will lessen the administrative work, monitoring is all in one application. The scheduling, appointments, all in one.

Cons

No negative feedback for this. It is helpful and needed by every mental clinics. It is what health institutions "must have".

Great program to start business and hold staff accountable early. Haven't worked yet on the billing side of program.

Pros

Ease of use. It took no time for me and my staff to use the program. We loved the simplicity of the design. As a manager, I enjoyed certain features such as billing could not progress until note, treatment plan and other items are complete in system. Loved having a patient portal for my clients to eliminate time wasted for support staff checking ledgers and open appointments.

Cons

Would like to see more ways in which each office could develop program into what they exactly need. I prefer more choices for click down screens. Wording is different than other programs and will need to adjust for new staff in how exactly a note needs to be written since it is free text.

Unfortunately I would not recommend to group practices looking for an EHR with robust features. We're looking into other software and finding better options

Pros

Therapy notes has an intuitive user interface and reasonable pricing especially for group practices.

Cons

The client portal which has been promised for year is still not finished and the program has poor reporting functions for group practices

Pros

I use the Free Trial and find this not so easy to use, but, Customer support did very well. They are patiently listening to my concerns regarding the software and trying to solve the problems I encountered.

Cons

So far, I am on the process of exploring the entire software so I didn't find anything negative for now.

Buy it if you can afford it.

Pros

I loved this product. Session notes took less than 5 minutes and read beautifully. Because of the system, all notes were standard.

Cons

I am a one person office and could not justify the expense due to the income of one person, and, for the most part, no one else was reading notes.

Pros

This is a relatively simple program to use, however has features that can be utilised as your practice grows. Their customer service is excellent. I had a personal call from a member of the sales support team who spoke to me about my experiences with the product which I appreciated.

Cons

The product is only set up for folks in the United States. This is frustrating as the address fields and telephone numbers will not accept an international address. Also, the time zone is an issue when date stamping notes/correspondence. To compensate for this, customer service extended the free trial to one year for me as an international customer which I thought was excellent.

I cannot recommend this produce. I raved about them three years ago, but now they care more about profit and covering their butts, than any customers!

Pros

Many of the features are easy to use, such as the notes and scheduling. Billing can also be easy if the insurance company accepts payment from TherapyNotes clearinghouse. Best feature by far is the reminder texts to clients!

Cons

The company has grown exponentially, at the customer's expense! They've switched building, added new staff, moved servers and replaced servers, added features, but the quality has suffered and the mistake have been adding up! I get lots of excuses, but no apologies! TherapyNotes servers crash oftens and I've lost notes several times! They have also been hacked and allow access to their internal system putting my records at risk. I could not get access to any client data for 3 days! Totally Unacceptable!! This month they made me accept a new privacy agreement (or not have access to my client data) that indemnified them from any responsibility for any errors or lost data or any hack and illegal use of our client data. I went to log-in on a Monday and the website said, sign our new agreement or you cannot access any of your files, data, schedules...nothing... that's holding my records for random!

I'm thrilled that I changed to TherapyNotes. I would definitely recommend it to any therapist in private practice!

Pros

I love that this software was developed for therapy practices. I was previously using Practice Fusion and had to navigate through information that was not relevant to my practice. It was very annoying! TherapyNotes is very user friendly, it makes my daily practice a breeze and also helps my biller in numerous ways.

Cons

There isn't a way to show processing of co-pays and to show that a client has confirmed/arrived. Other than that, it's amazing.

It's great that you can keep credit cards on file through this system!

Pros

I tried out this product as an acupuncturist when a friend who is a therapist recommended it to me for clinical note taking. I found it very easy to use, but the templates are definitely set for therapists and are not adaptable for other practitioners.

Cons

If you are not a therapist, this product probably won't work for you! That may sound obvious given the name of the product, but as an acupuncturist struggling to find an EHR, I was trying out everything. I did like the clean templates of TherapyNotes but ultimately it was too standardized for what I needed.

Use TherapyNotes if you're in behavioral mental health. This system is great!

Pros

This system was designed for mental health providers. It's an incredible EHR. The clinical notes are easy to use. The system is predictive. The calendar and billing features are what set it apart from other EHRs.

Cons

I'd like to see TherapyNotes develop more reporting features. I'd also like to see them add e-prescribing. It's a robust system otherwise.

We recently had an audit and it did not go so well. This was the primary reason for switching to a new platform. With TherapyNotes we are not able to submit our sessions until the Progress Note is completed and signed. There are multiple required fields in the Progress Note which provide the required information that we are contractually required to provide on each note. The next audit should go much better.

Pros

So we just started using Therapy Notes a month ago and needed to transfer patient/clients for 45 clinicians. Throughout the process, the Customer Support Team has been very responsive and helpful. So far, I have found TherapyNotes to be very easy to use.

Cons

Doesn't integrate with any ePrescription platforms and does not have an API to allow the exchange of data.

I love that I can use one system for notes, plans, documents, upload, download, billing, accounting features, and I am even considering switching to also use TN for billing insurance eventually. Also love the very helpful and fast customer service and that they email.

Pros

Easy to learn and use, many great features, and fantastic customer service. So many people have recommended TN to me and what sold me was hearing about the ability to approve and co-sign notes, that their customer service is great, and the different roles and multi-roles available. All the prompts are helpful too and are subtle rather than annoying like some other programs might be. Very organized, clear, with great direction and easy on the eyes. It was easy to teach myself how to use it, and I would not even call it 'teaching' because they design it to feel intuitive and give guidance not only as you go, but also in a designated 'to do' area so that it is easy to manage and you can take your time.

Cons

Would like there to be fillable forms we can customize for clients that are browser based, like IntakeQ for example or SP.

Thanks for the great review. We recognize your concern with electronic records. I enjoy working with TherapyNotes.com because it lets me commmunicate more directly with my supervisors and my clients. I could see myself one day using this program exclusively for billing and scheduling if I was working independently. Security measures are tight and have had no problems so far.

Pros

The user interface is so much cleaner than other outdated programs I've used at other practices. Finding every menu page is intuitive and the load times are fast. I also like that clients can submit requests and questions through this app directly and securely to the clinician instead of having to go through voice messages or email.

Cons

It's taken a little time to get used to and since there are so many programs included with it, it's difficult to sync it with outside programs. Some repetitiveness happens there.

Pros

Therapy notes is a very intuitive EMR system.it's the first one that I had come into contact that really seem to have a user first interface. As far as I can tell, it's mostly for behavioral health which was really great considering I didn't have to sift through hundreds of other functions that are specific to a more specifically medical office.

Cons

Everything worked really well and gave me a great new experience with EMRs. in the end it just the cost that was a little bit much.

TN was easy to implement and immediately gave the clinicians EHR and online access to their calendar.

Pros

The support for Therapy Notes is tremendous. You can always get someone on the phone to answer your questions. If they need to they will research the answers to make sure you get a correct answer. One can ask follow-u questions and the staff will continue to work with you until you understand the issue.

Cons

The fact that the billing process is tied to the signed clinician clinical notes. There is no way to link services to a clinician if they include overpayments you can not easily tell which clinician should get the money.

Customer service was great and if I was able to really take time to get in to the services I am sure it would have been great. I want simple and basic only.

Pros

it had lots of options and if I had a bigger need for this it would have been great.

Cons

too many options for my simple practice and it was too overwhelming.

Pros

simplicity of navigating and using the system especially progress notes and treatment plans; tried another system that called itself simple but could not figure it out and there was no phone customer support to help me; really appreciate the customer phone support when needed

Cons

nothing to complain about; have not found any issues
