DonorPerfect is a fundraising solution suitable for all nonprofits. It helps users manage donations, contacts, receipting, reporting, email and fundraising initiatives from a single system.

Cons

Reports need more clarification as to their end result.I have to open several reports and run them because I am not sure what the end product is of each report.

Cons

It does take time to learn everything about the reporting aspect but basic reports are no problem. The customer support is so good you just have to call them to help.

Coming from the world of eTapestry, there has been a slight learning curve with filters (versus queries), but the phone support team are so helpful and patient in this area! There really are no cons that I have run across so far!

Pros

Easy to use, to implement and save so much time for our administration staff. Also, they consider our suggestions, which is awesome.

Cons

Can't find any actually - really everything is perfect for our daily needs. You should definately consider this option.

We have not found an efficient way to input the data into Donor Perfect as it is a fairly manual process and doesn’t easily link to QuickBooks.

I really like this system. For the price, you get a full and robust database that you can manipulate as needed. If you don't want to upgrade features, you can find other ways to utilize features.

Pros

The system is intuitive to a fundraisers thought process. The built-in features are everything you NEED to run a comprehensive database. There are upgrades and options as you grow. The comprehensive coding system available allows you to dig into your data on a regular basis.

Cons

A very new fundraiser or database user may have a hard time navigating the coding system. The complexity is great but time needs to be invested in it.

All in all, DonorPerfect is great value for what it costs. The staff at various levels are very open to feedback, and I have seem a number of changes made based on that feedback. No reason to look around at other option any time soon.

Pros

DonorPerfect is made for non-profits, rather than being an afterthought that is somewhat modified for our use. The company actually listens to clients and uses that communication to improve on the product. The client support is outstanding. I am very vocal about things that might not work, or not as I would like, and I am encouraged to be that way. It costs far less than some bigger name options.

Cons

Events management has some problems, so we do not use it. They know that, and are working to improve it. Being on the West Coast, it can be difficult sometimes to chat later in the day with tech support. I hope that will also continue to improve. They are available a couple of hours later than was the case when we migrated to DonorPerfect.

It is SO user friendly and I believe anyone can be successful with it.

Pros

There are so many ways to easily customize your system to meet the needs of your organization, whether it be creating smart actions to send reminders or alerts, adding fields or calculations, managing who has viewing and editing rights within your organization, or changing how each screen is laid out. The support team is incredible and very helpful with any issue that comes up.

Cons

I'm fairly new with using DP forms, but I wish there were more options within the data validation part of downloading the information into DonorPerfect so we wouldn't end up with so many duplicate records.

Have had a lot of problems getting this up and running... lots of them. The data transfer was only supposed to take a few days... two months later we finally get it done by them.

Pros

It is mostly functional as a database. The promos make it look easy and they seem eager to help, when they know what they are talking about.

Cons

Lots of quirks, not really user friendly and a steep learning curve for all of the quirks. The support staff know the basics, but if you have a real problem, then it can take weeks to find someone who knows how to fix it.

I like the fact that I can track "in kind" donors and have the ability to acknowledge their gifts. That's important to us!

Pros

We are a small nonprofit and ready to make the leap from Excel spreadsheets to a CRM. I have spent weeks reviewing 5 different systems and have selected Donor Perfect for its value, functionality and fit for our organization. I didn't spend this much time comparing and contrasting features when I bought my home!

Cons

I wish it was a little less expensive, but there does appear to be value for the cost of the software.

Cons

Using the filters to create mailings lists can be very confusing. You have to be very precise and use many filters or else you won't get what you want. I wish there was a more user friendly way to create mailing lists.

Very intuitive, easy to use, works well when it decides to work.

Cons

I worked at an organization who utilized it's cloud based system. If the internet or wifi is down, it doesn't work. Or if internet or wifi is slow, the program is slow. This is frustrating when trying to find donors. A bit expensive too - but more affordable than Raisers Edge.

There is so many reports and good information. You can literally track and print reports for all of the information you need. If you can't figure something out, the techs are always willing to talk you through your questions and will send you a detailed email of everything they went over. The Donor Perfect community is also a helpful tool.

Cons

There are a LOT of reports. As it's good it can also be overwhelming, but once you get the hang of it, it's easy to maneuver.

Overall, I can't imagine another fundraising software being any better than DonorPerfect. The donor records management and reporting functions are very user-friendly and the logical manner by which they are organized and laid out on the website are big time-savers. DonorPerfect is a huge asset to our development team!

Pros

DonorPerfect is perfect for all my organization's software and database needs relating to fundraising. My absolute favorite thing about DonorPerfect is the excellent customer service I receive each and every time I reach out. I am sometimes asked to provide data that I'm not sure how to obtain in a time-effective manner. It literally takes a quick phone call or even an online chat session with a DonorPerfect rep for me to find a report that will work to get me the information I need. I am always amazed at how well the DonorPerfect customer service folks know the software, and the ease at which they are able to share its capabilities. I have never had to wait for a solution or an answer to my questions. That is so valuable for me, someone whose greatest challenge is not having enough hours in the day! One of the other pros at the top of my list is the user-friendly interface of DonorPerfect. If you have even a little computer knowledge and experience, DonorPerfect is very easy to use. Everything is laid out and organized in a logical manner, which saves the time and frustration of not being able to find a simple function.

Cons

I can honestly say I have not had any negative experiences with DonorPerfect. There are tiny things such as the scope of searching records that I might like to see changed, but at the end of the day, they're not really consequential. (Example: If an individual record is entered as John H. Smith, but I search for that record with the terms "John Smith", the record I'm looking for may not pop up. Broadening the search to "Smith" however, would allow me to find the record.)

The best thing about Donor perfect is the intuitive ease of use and the responsiveness of chat support. If I'm ever stuck on a problem, I can pull up a chat and get answers to my questions quickly and easily! It's also great that DonorPerfect works with AFP to run AFP-FEP reports. I also love the credit card processing option through the app. When we run credit cards on-site at events, the data is automatically placed into the records, and I can change the settings for each event.

Cons

Sometimes the website can be a tad slow.

Donor Perfect integrates with the Agile Ticketing system we use at our non-profit art house cinema and the transfer of information is seamless. Donor Perfect has been wonderful in all aspects.

Pros

I like the reporting functions of Donor Perfect. The preloaded reports are fantastic and the ability to customize a report to your own needs is very useful.

DP is a great CRM for small nonprofits because it has all the features that a charity would need. They have thought of everything from pledges to receipts.

Cons

Its not very user friendly when it comes using it as for online donations.

Donor Perfect is one of the easiest software systems I have used. The training is easy to learn and if you have any questions, the tech support is phenomenal!

Cons

What I don't like is, it is hard to catch duplicate records. If you do not search specifically what you are looking for, it will not bring it up.

It’s very helpful for creating targeted mailing lists for donors and automating the thank you letter process.

Pros

So many functions! So many possibilities to slice and dice data! The training support and webinars are very helpful to get started and refresh me as I am not an everyday user.

Cons

So many functions! Our organization is small and only 3 of us access Donor Perfect and always for different reasons. It has maybe more firepower than we need so it’s challenging going to learn and keep up if you don’t use it repetitively.

I highly, highly recommend, DonorPerfect, and am currently attempting to have my present employer switch to it from a far less intuitive donor database. I honestly cannot sing the praises of DonorPerfect enough. It is a donor database designed by fundraisers, who continuously accept input from other fundraisers.

Pros

There is so much to love about DonorPerfect. After 10 years in professional fundraising, working with everything from the most-known donor database to numerous smaller ones, DonorPerfect really is perfect. It's extremely intuitive, and extremely customisable. During my training, I was actually jumping ahead of my trainer, and ended up not using a full two hours of the training DonorPerfect provides. Furthermore, I was able to quickly and easily train others on how to use the database.

Cons

There was one quirk around using Tab, where it would skip a field near the top of the main Constituent page, then jump back up to it. I never did figure out how to work around that issue.

Quick, easy, and friendly. A breath of fresh air!

Pros

I like how easy it is to use! I transferred from an organization using Salesforce and, honestly, when I was told I would be using a donor database I cringed. My last one was the bane of my organization's existence. Donor Perfect, however, was so easy to learn. I was using it within two days. The dashboard is clean and not overwhelming. I love the integration with Constant Contact because it saves so much time! The options provided when entering in new donor information makes tracking your donations and looking up donors or groups so easy. The customer service is fast and pleasant. The webinars have been incredibly useful and cover interesting topics to make your time using the software that much more sophisticated. I am very pleased.

Cons

I recently took a webinar that was for crowdfunding around Giving Tuesday and it was not advertised as for only "pro" users. After the webinar was over I went to apply what I had learned and it turned out my organization does not have a pro account. I wasted an hour of my time. It would be helpful to advertise exactly what types of accounts the webinar is for.

We have improved our effectiveness in reaching donors. We have been able to segment our donors to create custom communications to reach the lapsed donor and the growing donor. The connection to Constant Contact allows us to track every contact made to each donor. Plus we have reduced our bookkeeping costs through the Donor Perfect-Quickbooks link. We are very happy that we decided to purchase Donor Perfect this year.

Pros

We have been using Donor Perfect for 10 months now and we continue to discover ways to reduce are time and increase our effectiveness. We recently connected Donor Perfect to Quickbooks saving us significant bookkeeping work. We are able to quickly find our major donors and invite them to events using ticketing through DP. Sponsors and even auction items are all tracked in the database. Their phone support has been outstanding. I would recommend Donor Perfect to any size non-profit.

Cons

Sometimes all the options can be overwhelming but the support people help in sorting through the options to find the ones best for the current issue.

I did a lot of research of databases before settling on this one. It was a great find in that it can manage the data well, make it accessible in reports, and the cost is very competitive. It is flexible and fits our needs well. And the support is fantastic! The training videos, the knowledge base, and the chat and phone support is all very helpful. The people I have worked with were very kind and knowledgeable. It has been a great experience all around.

Pros

This is one of the most comprehensive software programs I could find. And the price was great. I appreciate the flexibility of the program, the ability to add/hide fields, set up the form the way I want it, and I especially appreciate how easy it was to set up on-line giving. What had been overwhelming before was accomplished quickly and effectively. The training videos, knowledge base, and support made it so easy to learn new things and use the database well. The reports are easy to use and very useful.

Cons

There is not much to not like about this software. I did run into a small issue with duplicate entry from on-line giving when the use used West instead of W or vice versa. If the address is not exact, it doesn't pick it up.
