Basecamp Software

Basecamp is a real-time communication tool that helps teams stay on the same page; it’s less for traditional project management tasks (e.g., resource planning and long-term scheduling). With to-do-lists, calendaring, due dates and file-sharing, Basecamp provides a way for teams to keep track of priorities and actionable items.

Since 2004, Basecamp has focused on developing a simple interface in which users can create projects, document progress and manage tasks. It is a web-based software, allowing users to sign in anywhere, any time, either through a web browser or through apps compatible with a large number of mobile devices.

Not specific to a single industry, Basecamp can be deployed by any organization that needs to manage a group, including nonprofits, startups and client service firms—and it can even be used by freelancers. Subscriptions are scalable, with tiers for varying amounts of storage and numbers of users.

Customer Support

Value for Money

Pros

- Very reasonably priced given the features it offers
- Can integrate with other applications/platforms
- Integrated messaging platform

Cons

- The interface is in dire need of an update. It's too easy to get lost in the interface and need to reload the entire platform to figure out where you were.
- There are several ways to communicate with users, and they all feel completely disconnected from one another.
- Basecamp needs to improve their reporting features.

Great software, they've done a great job. Highly recommended

Pros

It's easy to use and very easy to share across companies. We used Basecamp to work and collaborate with outside creative firms. Easy to work together on a project and it's great at allowing you to leave comments, give permissions, and navigate the project.

Cons

It almost seems too simple at times. I had a hard time figuring it out at first, but it's pretty easy to pick up.

Simple system that helps to create, edit and manage a project step by step keeping the team and the clients updated of the development of it. As well as putting the deadlines of a task or the extension of time. Improves communication by making it more feedback and makes work more efficient.

Pros

It contains multiple tools to manage a project in a very organized way through a very clean and attractive interface, thus facilitating the information to the work team in a simple way. I also like the idea of a message section to communicate among the work team and be able to make some kind of consultation or provide new ideas for a new project. It is also very easy to include the client and select tasks for a team within a project.

Cons

Manage many tasks in mobile devices difficult, should make a redesign for more convenience in monitoring the project. It is difficult to find past information such as the discussions but despite these bad points of view, Basecmap still complies with what is required within the organization.

The layout in tiles is easy for me to understand and quickly manage.

Cons

I have used basecamp on several occasions to create and develop projects with my team. This software allows me to organize the activities to be carried out in a much simpler and more efficient way, it is very flexible and versatile. However, there are currently software to manage and manage projects that are much more efficient and functional than Basecamp.

Pros

Basecamp is a software that allows you to manage projects online easily and quickly. One of its best features is the simplicity of its interface, it has a control panel that allows you to organize activities according to the calendar and the estimated delivery date. Another advantage is that it allows you to share files so that other members of the team can view and access them, as well as create task lists and assign them to different team members. It also has a chat that allows you to communicate in real time with other users.

Cons

One of the main disadvantages of this software is that it does not have some basic and necessary tools to manage projects. In addition, it does not allow to establish hierarchies among the members of the project and its cost is quite high.

Pros

It syncs to your email so you're updated on all projects and can respond in email. That way all my notifications are in one place that I use consistently. I like that you can choose who received notifications on a project.

Cons

Folders are a little strange. We use messages for projects under a scope of one project. It would be nice to have the title of a thread visible at all times since I have to scroll all the way up to the top to see what thread I'm actually in.

Basecamp has been great in helping me stay up-to-date on all the latest messages, events, and documents in my group.

Pros

I use Basecamp for a volunteer organization and it has been incredibly convenient to check in with the latest updates, documents, and members being added. The page itself looks great and everything we use is clearly laid out right on top, making it easy to find what I want in few clicks.

The timeline feature is useful when I haven't checked the page in a while and would like to know what has happened since my last visit. As a volunteer member, I feel more connected when seeing everyone else's names pop up and seeing what they've been working on.

Cons

I turned off most notifications when I joined, but it automatically sends you many notifications which may be much for some.
