Simple Salon is a cloud-based salon management solution for small, midsize and large day spas and hair salons. Primary features include SMS messaging, online booking management, marketing, accounting and reporting.
The SMS messaging feature allows users to reduce no shows and manage appointments. The online booking feature allows users to take bookings and schedule them in the appointment book. The marketing feature sends out welcome notes, reminders and promotional offers to clients. The reporting feature provides a dashboard where users can view salon performance against key performance indicators. Simple Salon offers integration with Slick, Xero Accounting, Campaign Monitor, SMS Central, MailChimp, Stripe, Pin Payments and POS99.
It is offered via subscription pricing. Android and iOS mobile applications are also offered. Support is offered via email and over the phone.

Support team and email correspondence was always fast in my experience. Never tried any pushy sales tactics or upgrades.
Overall, good software for newbies and reliable.
-Online booking - Slick App was the only way clients could book online, there was no real incentive for clients to use it and i never received any bookings from it- be it new or existing clients. It has no real online presence and was an unfamiliar brand. My clients felt uncomfortable handing over personal information. From memory I believe the business only had an 30 mins from opening time to confirm a booking which is ridiculous and almost impossible in a busy salon environment.
-Outdated looking interface. felt very dated and clunky. It was a breeze to use once you understood it, nut did take some getting used to.
- Customer support was a little tricky. Had a bit of trouble understanding how to unsubscribe (very well hidden)
- Expensive for the small size of the team I have. Paying double the price for 2 columns was a bit of a joke. I can definitely see benefit if the salon team was bigger.
-Disappointing that no appointment changes or new appointments couldn't be made via the phone app on the go. The app was only useful to see appointments, not much else.

I have had simple salon for 16 months it has been a great addition to my business. The program is easy and I think has helped grow my business. I can see exactly where we are and who is doing what . So I just opened a second salon and the service I got was great , the support staff was right onto my questions and really went out of her way to help me . This means we can access both salon appointments and I can monitor what is happening where . I recently went to Europe for 6 weeks , it was awesome just accessing the program anywhere I was able to see how my girls were going on and I could get paid !!! Also the SMS my clients love, I have had less no shows and my clients look forward to their reminder . I won't be going back to pen and paper ! Love it !

We have been sing books for client bookings, cards for clients past visits, spreadsheets for staff performance and indexes for contacts.
Now we have this software which does everything simply and in a way that we can all use, even remotely.
This is so flexible and easy to setup and use. Having had no experience with salon software previously I thought long and hard before signing up. After about five minutes I had set the system up and had it ready for product input.
Our staff had used it previously so they breezed through and we're making bookings even before the setup was fully finished.
The level of information that simple salon provides is fantastic and is literally replacing about 5 different checks and balances we had put in place.
Our stylists check every day on their statistics and are really wanting to challage their results and better previous figures.
I seriously love this software.
Remote access, our stylists can book clients in from anywhere they have Internet access
Client up-selling, easy to use with the client which enables live up-selling.
Everyone knows what is coming up which in turn allows better planning, stock control, and staff usage
Ease of use. It's dead simple to set up and use. It's as simple as that.
None that I can find as yet.

I've been in the hair and beauty industry for over 10 years and always used Shortcuts... Not anymore! I was apprehensive to change software initially but I wanted to move our salon over to software which had the option of remote access, as I live an hour away from my salon. I searched high and low to find the most beneficial online software for my partner and I to use as we went out on our own as chair renters for the first time. It was imperative to both of us that the program be 1. online accessible (to make it fully portable) 2. affordable 3. simple. I can say, hands down I am completely satisfied with Simple Salon. I have worked on Salon software before, but never had to set it up from step 1 before. I had the whole thing figured out in no time. When I did have questions, I was beyond impressed with the turn around time response. I am in the US and Simple Salon is in Australia. I received a faster response from the other side of the globe then I did from the US supplier my old boss had used. Not only were my questions answered, they were clearly answered (usually with a video!). My colleague and I are sharing the expense of the program, the time it will save us with automatic emails, loyalty point tracking, online booking, etc is priceless. Things to understand is when you get in contract with a software, it may take a while to understand everything.
Simple Salon is a very good software. I own 12 salons, and it is magical! Once the products and the services have been created in the system, I just need to duplicate for every new salons.
It may be not perfect, but even the most famous one is not.
So, I definitly recommande this online software.

I have been using salon software for three years now and been really happy with the way the software ran the salon. I decided it was time I updated my software to something that was more up to date.
After asking around a friend who works from home recommended Simple Salon and as it was produced here in Australia I decided to try out . After trawling the web looking for a months free trial as most of the other salon software offer I decided the only thing I could do was check out all the you tube videos and try to get an idea of the software from that.
It took me a week or two to make up my mind not wanting to commit to something and then feel disappointed but how bad could it be......
I paid and down loaded the software and spent several days putting in the services, clients and products and decided we would run both the old software and the new together so we had an escape plan if need be. I am so glad we did. Once we started using the software I quickly realised it is almost impossible to read the clients name on the appointment book and there is no option to have both first and surname on view you either have to have the first letter of the first name and a full surname or a full first name and only the first letter of the surname. This was confusing when there was a family in or two people with the name Sharon.
Secondly you can't read what service a client was having without opening up the appointment. This makes it difficult to check at a glance.
There don't seem to be any options to change the appointment once it is made...i.e price or service without cancelling the appointment and remaking it.
To put a cut and colour in with the development time you have to put in the cut as one service and the colour as another service then make a third service adding the two in as a group service. Initially this was a great idea until I realised the appointment does not open up as a whole it only opens up either the cut or the colour.
At this point I decided it was a road to nowhere and decided to stick with the software I already have.
I emailed the support team and asked them for a refund on the three weeks i have paid for and not used and there reply was the the monthly subscription was non refundable!!!!!
Buyer beware if the company are not confident enough to offer a months free trial don't risk it!!!!
My conclusion was this software works for single use but if you are running a busy salon look for something else.
