Google Drive Software

Google Drive helps users store company data in one place. Users can access files from desktop and mobile devices and control how team members share these files. The platform provides a central admin panel, data-loss prevention and a vault for the drive to ensure compliance and file sharing between users.

Google Drive stores teams’ work in a shared workspace. Teams own new files added to the drive, so that all members stay updated with the latest files. It includes machine-learning technology to help users predict future needs. Google Drive provides features like a natural-language search and optical character recognition (OCR).

Google Drive integrates with third-party applications including DocuSign for e-signatures, CloudLock for additional security layers and LucidCharts for mockups. Users can open different file types like PDFs and MPEG4s, and they can work on Microsoft Word files straight from the drive. Pricing is per month. Support is provided via online chat, email and the phone.

Pros

Intuitive layout means you can start using Google Drive with almost no instruction. The apps integrate with Microsoft so you can share files and most importantly edit them live. Easy to learn permissions to control who has edit and view access of each part of each file. Having worked on both Google and Dropbox I am a firm favourite of Google. We have recently added Google Team Drive to make accessing all of our company docs ever better.

Cons

There aren't many cons but there are some small formatting issues if you are regularly working on both Google Docs and Microsoft Word/Excel.

I used it through out my academic career and was perfect for what it was intended for.

Pros

Its very easy to use and share with peers. Easy to modify and share information. Definitely recommend it for academics.

Cons

It doesn't necessarily apply to businesses as it doesn't focus on securing sensitive material. It could expand its scope

Give it a try

Pros

It is quite simple to use. If you are connected to your gmail account you don't need another username or password. It is very functional if you use Google Suite. I love the way google products integrate with each other. Good for different locations! I used it in Brazil and Argentina.

Cons

Don't assume everybody will know how to use it. Google offers free training online in different languages: https://gsuite.google.com/learning-center/products/drive/#!/

Pros

Google drive allows you to keep your data on the drive. You are no longer afraid of losing your data. It can keep data as long as you want it. I believe it is safe and secured. They also give you a limited space for free.

Cons

It needs fast internet speed to download or upload data. A slow speed internet can take a lot of time to download or upload, especially when file size is excessively huge.

Google Drive, a Meeting by Chance!

Ease-of-use

Functionality

Product Quality

Customer Support
N/A
Pros

The best thing, first off is it's free, which is always a great thing! The second thing is that it can hold so much memory in the drive. I mean I have at least a thousand photos and tons of videos stored in it and never have any issues finding specific photos or videos (once I figured it all out, that is...)! I love that it shows a thumbnail of each photo/video, so you know what you are actually clicking into, which makes it a cinch to find any file at anytime, even on a tiny smart phone. It's always a plus that you can share photos or files so easily, with just a click of the button and it's paramount that they have the audience setting right in clear sight, as to no need to search and worry that your file just went public! Anyway, Google definitely has saved my days many times over!!

Cons

My only pet peeve about it is that it's not organized correctly. When I first started using it a few years back, I felt like I was going around in circles trying to access different areas of the drive? It took me awhile to wrap my brain around where things were saved to, when I accidentally clicked upload to drive and went searching all over for that one file! That's how the whole Google Drive thing started in the first place, by accident! Anyway, once I figured it all out, and believe me, google's "help" pages, at that time, did NOT help at all, I started using it all of the time. But I had so many duplicate files because of not being able to find them originally, it's not even funny, so that was my main pet peeve. And like all software, gadgets, computers, appliances, etc..., there's always a few glitches here and there, but that's to be expected and necessary some times! ;)

I use it for quick access to documents on the go.

Pros

Free. Works like any other Microsoft product but with limitations. Organizes folders and documents like any PC would. Phone app allows the same functionality as a desktop and you can access it anywhere and they give you 15 G's of free storage.

Cons

The Google Sheets, Docs and Slides have about half the functionality of MS Office but again I digress to Free! When you share a file you are only sharing access unless you download and send.

Google Wins Again

Ease-of-use

Functionality

Product Quality

Customer Support

Pros

I was skeptical about using Google Drive in my personal life because I am not one to use a "cloud" service to save my pictures and videos. Google Drive was automatically installed on my new phone and I would have gotten rid of it had I not taken a look at the interface and tried using it on my PC. The ease of access with this software/app is unrivaled and its seamless integration with your phone and computer cannot be beaten. After a few months of using it in my personal life, I moved on to suggesting it in the work place and we have never looked back. I still use it in my personal and professional life to this day. Google has won yet another war: the file sharing show down.

Cons

There are no cons with this product except for the fact that you do have to pay for additional storage. If you're using this for business and storing simple .Docx, .Xls, or .PDF files then you should have more than enough space for thousands upon thousands of documents simply using the free version of the software.

It would be great if Google had somehow allowed to apply my own license to my Google account and then allowed me to modify the MS-Word/Excel document in MS-Word/Excel format.

Pros

Unlimited storage when files are Google Docs or Google Sheets file. Real-time sharing - it means, if person A shares a document with person B and person B starts making the change, person A can see it as person B is making the change and vice versa. Foldering scheme is straight forward. One can give or restrict access whether the person shared with has Google account or not. Works like charm from your mobile phone as well (both iPhone and Android)

Cons

You can't modify a MS-Word or MS-Excel file without converting that to Google Doc/Sheet. It's actually a licensing thing. Also, storage is not unlimited if it's not Google Doc/Sheet.

Google drive has made business easier and internally we are able to do admin things much more efficient.

Pros

Mostly I like Google Drive because I have the ability to keep all of my documents, photos, and files all in one place so no more paper! I am able to share documents throughout our office from one employee to another with just a few clicks. Google Drive keeps me organized!

Cons

The one thing I don't like is that I have to make sure to open each now Google doc that was shared with me or it doesn't save into my Google Drive for retrieval later down the road. I often have staff unable to locate something I sent them because they forget to click on the link and this becomes time consuming when having to go back through emails to find the document that was shared and not clicked on.

Pros

I love that this connects right to my email and is an easy way to upload large files and send them. I have been able to integrate files that are well-organized for our work and link them to the google calendar. Furthermore, I can invite everyone who needs to be able to access it. It has saved me a lot of time in both file-sharing and working on projects with others in the office.

Cons

Since I only use the free amount, it seems to be constantly running out of space. This has been a little confusing to me since I do not have enough content in there currently for it to be out of space. Because of the space problems, it can also cause problems with my gmail inbox.

This is an overall a great app. There aren't many things that doesn't want to make you not use it. It's super easy to use. You can have multiple users to it. Just in case you need to manage another account. It comes preinstalled on all Android devices and if it doesn't have it then it is usually the 1st app that gets installed to it.

Pros

1. All the files are there easy for you to see. 2. You can upload just about anything to your cloud storage. 3. Accessible with most 3 party apps. 4. Desktop version available.

Cons

1. It really doesn't look appealing. 2. Sometimes you think you uploaded something and it didn't go through, the same with downloads.

Overall Google is the best in class Cloud Drive that you can never complain about.

Pros

Google Drive is one of the best in cloud platforms, it provides all kinds of features from File, Folder sharing to file embedding.
We can embed the videos on our websites directly from Google Drive itself, The video or the file integrates seamlessly and works fine.
Google even provides features to directly share from other cloud platforms to Google Drive, we can even use some plugins and grab the files through its link itself. I had never a found a cloud drive that which is compatible to all kinds of my uses.

Cons

I never had any complaint about Google Drive, it works fine everytime and there no issues at all.
The only thing you might feel like a con is, If you are using your drive to Host file or share a particular file large group of community, then Google might disable that link due to huge unusual traffic flow

Overall, great product to store and share files easily.

Pros

What i liked most about Google Drive was that all of your different documents are stored in one area. It makes it really easy to jump between your documents and excel sheets but keeps everything organized. It is fairly easy to share your files with others and lets you track changes that have been made.

Cons

I love using Google Drive to store all of my files and to share with others, but I wish you can access all of these files in the Google Drive mobile app rather than having to download a separate app to open sheets, docs, etc.

I use Google Drive both for personal and work purpose. We are using Google Drive for work repository and coordination among team members on various activities. Recently we had a major firewall hardware change activity and we all collaborated using Google Sheet on Drive to complete the activity.

Pros

I started using Google Drive back in 2012 around the time it was first launched. I took a while to really start using it much and was sometimes bothered by seeing my email attachments on the drive. That looked like a privacy breach for me. But overtime i found myself using Google Drive all the time. I use it for my phone backup, my documents which i would like to access from anywhere on the go etc. We use Google Drive at workplace too whenever we need to collaborate and work together on certain documents.
You get to use spreadsheets and word document without any additional cost and share files including multimedia without any hassle. I especially like the access control on Google Drive where i can control who can view edit or own specific documents.

Cons

Being a Google fan, it's hard to dislike anything that Google has made :) I find myself struggling within the 15 GB free capacity limit sometimes.

I use Google Drive as an off-site storage location for different articles and stories that I work on as a writer. It is not the only cloud storage solution I use, but it is one that I use frequently for clients that I need to share items with rather than upload information through a CMS.

Pros

Google Drive is just what I need for storing files in the cloud. Their security is better than other options, so I'm confident my files aren't going to be broadcast all over the internet for people to see.

I like how simple it is to use. I don't have to go through fifteen steps to upload a file or folder. I select the upload command and navigate to the data I want to save. The sync application makes sure everything within a given area remains up to date in the cloud, while giving me a local copy to access.

I sometimes need to share files and folders with clients. Again, they keep it simple giving me the option to send them a share link directly from Google Drive or copy and paste the link into an email or messenger of my choosing.

Their plan options are more affordable than some of the competition and they offer more free storage than others.

Cons

While it is simple to use, sometimes I use the Docs feature to create a new document. It saves to Google Drive automatically (Which I like) but I can't have it save to a certain file in the Drive. I have to finish editing, close the document and then move it.

I may be missing the feature that allows me to direct where in Drive I want it to go. However, if I'm not just overlooking it, I would love to be able to do that. Right now, I have a bunch of random documents in the Drive that I need to sort through and move to folders so that I can find what I'm looking for later.

Sharing of training materials and other files is made very easy with the Chrome extensions in Windows.

Pros

Files are easily transferred and stored, and allows for sharing no matter the situation: work, home, or school. The seamless integration into the Google Office is phenomenal as well with the ability to store and share spreadsheets and documents between persons and even Microsoft apps.

Cons

Security is not the best - as most large corporations do not allow access of work materials to be shared via Google, but for non-sensitive information it is used quite a bit regardless.

Pros

The best and most useful feature of Google Drive is to simply share files among peers, and colleagues. Nothing is more simply than adding a document to a Google Drive share and then sending the link over to a person via email for them to view the document. This eliminates the pesky use of emailing documents back and forth, this really cuts out the middle man (the sending of emails back and forth) and lets two people simply share a document. Additionally, you can use Google Drive to share documents with yourself, sometimes you might need to be able to see a document on your phone while you are away from your main workstation. Google Drive lets you do this via the Google Drive app that I have used on iOS. Simply a great solution using the magic of the internet.

Cons

There really isn't anything to not like about Google Drive that I have come across. Maybe the only thing is that sometimes the links you send people might not work, or you have to resend them after a period of time if it gets lost.

We use drive to quickly share our daily, weekly and monthly numbers to easily use a spreadsheet to anywhere we are see our KPI's and know the heartbeat of our business. Any office, in the car on my phone, at my home on a tablet or in the middle of a business meeting I have quick access to any document that I need to reference to be able to make the best choice at the time. It's very quick and easy to share those documents and have the capaticy to roll back at any time to a previous version of the documents.

Pros

Google Drive makes it so easy to share files and documents. Create a spreadsheet and share it to everyone, give them read permission, or full write permission. It's easy to organize your files and quickly collaborate on anything that you are working on. Quickly share link and someone is helping you finish that final draft or proof read that important presentation. It removes the barriers of trying to email the whole file, they change it and now there are multiple versions of the file floating around. Since it's cloud based everyone works on the same version together.

Cons

Some times it's hard to navigate to just look through all files.

Overall, I would definitely recommend Drive to colleagues and friends. It's a great service which is extremely valuable and makes business and personal tasks easier to keep track of with the sorting and storage systems.

Pros

This software proves very useful for security of data and piece of mind that my important files are safe and backed up at all times. Ease of use is also incredibly important for myself and clients.

Cons

There is very little that I can say negatively about this software. It has been nothing but reliable for my business.

I am a very satisfied user. It is an excellent and secured cloud storage.

Pros

There are a lot of nice things to say about Google Drive. It is my main cloud storage and I love it. I use it everyday and I stored even my most precious files on it.

1. It is free!!!
2. 15GB of free storage.
3. It's easy to use.
4. Access your files anywhere.
5. Made by Google, so our files are all safe.
6. I can share my files and control the permission.

Cons

I've been using Google Drive for many years. Yes, it is a basic cloud storage and I don't think I have any issues using it. It's free and just enough for my needs.

Overall Google Drive has given me a pleasant experience with the ease and mobility of data.

Pros

The integration of Google Drive on android phones allows data, documents, photos and other files to be saved to Google Drive. Whenever I need a file from my phone on my PC I simply upload it to google drive and log into google Drive on my PC and download. Files can be easily created and arranged within Google Drive as well which allows me to categorize my data.

Cons

The free storage space tends to become full in little time when you are a frequent user.

Google Drive is one of the most commonly used forms of cloud storage that comes with a number of advantages to the user. It is ideal for people who are on move and need to access their files from wherever they want.

Pros

Google Drive is much easier to manage, even though it is an online storage platform. There are no complexities associated when going through your documents. It have a number of features that make even a fresh user to navigate though it easily. It is relatively affordable to store file here, in fact , google drive offers its users free storage up to 15 GB, excluding your photos, as it provide unlimited free storage for photos. It has also made sharing easy through the internet, someone having a link of your document can access the document without any login.

Cons

Google Drive makes it difficult to integrate with other forms of communication, such as exporting your calendar to outlook is not easy. Moreover, Google Drive is limited in the number of plugins that can be used in it. Which means features are already embedded and no further customized modifications can be made.

Overall google drive is very useful. First time I used this app when my phone runs out of memory. It is very helpful. Upto 15 gb you can save your data free of cost. Later you have to pay if you want to store more files. One more thing for password protection Touch Id feature should be there.

Pros

Google drive is very useful to store data when your device running out of memory. It provides free 15 gb of drive to save your photos, videos, documents, etc. In corporate world we can share the documents through drive. Everyone can access your drive to whom you give permission. Also you can customise read and write permissions. However you can also protect your personal files in the drive. Android or IOS, for both users this app is very helpful. If someone need more more space, then you have to pay for that according to terms and conditions.

Cons

If someone who have write permission want to delete the file from your drive, then it will not give any warning message. This should be resolved and also Touch ID password protection should be there for personal documents. You can only save your data if your internet connection is working. In offline mode if you edit something then that data will not be saved.
