Pros/Cons
Pros
- I love how easy it is to edit audio using the auto transcription. It allows for other great features like filler word and word gap detection/removal.
- I love using this for podcast editing because it's so easy. I can edit out filler words quickly, and I love having a transcript of the episode ready for some quick edits.
- I have found Descript easy to use, fantastic that I can see the transcript and manipulate it to get the recording that I need. The drag and drop of video and music is so easy and brilliant.
Cons
- Perhaps stupidly, i carried on using Descript. A month or so later a Composition (their name for a document within a project) I was working on just stopped working.
- There have been two occasions in last few months where Descript just stopped working. I lost days' worth of work on broadcast critical projects.
- Luckily, I have also noticed this in time but this could have very well have led to a video having missing parts because of this "accident.
Pros
- The best thing i like about this software is that it is versatile and flexible. You can do a lot of nice work/output by using this software.
- Apart from outstanding software solutions and technical features, I was very impressed with the support team.
- People appreciate Loom for its ease of use, quick video recording and sharing capabilities, and the ability to combine screen capture with webcam footage. It enhances remote communication effectively.
Cons
- Once, after recording an 11 minute video, I realized Loom had recorded only 3 minutes, causing severe frustration.
- NO SUPPORT WHATSOVER you have to look for it. I hate companies that dont provide support right away.
- Loom recently limited its free version to 5-minute recordings. It forced me to upgrade my account before I really wanted to.
