Pros/Cons
Pros
- It's probably the most reliable speech recognition software that I have tried and its powerful enough to allow me to relax my hands from typing or writing for long stretches of time.
- The ability to create custom commands this is superb. The software has a great deal going for it.
- The navigation of websites is pretty good most of the time. The ability to create custom commands for specialized applications is also nice to have.
Cons
- Using Dragon NaturallySpeaking to record complex thoughts and sentences using uncommon words was an exercise in frustration and an overall disappointment.
- I had two technical problems that were very seriously hindering my capacity to use the program. All attempts to get a tech support failed.
- There were some selection tools I missed but they were not worth the price and terrible support.
Pros
- I have only used customer support twice and they were very fast, helpful and polite- I couldn't have been more impressed with their service.
- Overall experience positive - very good performance, excellent support staff, easy billing/payment and quality microphone.
- Customer support has been awesome. They've been super accommodating and super responsive to emails and questions.
Cons
- Talkatoo does seem to struggle some with numbers and is inconsistent. For example sometimes 3.42 will be written correctly and other times it might transcribe “3 point for to.
- There was a little trouble getting it installed in our clinic operating software.
- My doctors spent more time correcting errors than it would have taken them to just type out the notes in the first place. My system claims to "learn" new words if you input them.
