It is good value and they also keep improving the product. We look forward to increased use of the functionality of Classter and seeing how it helps grow our enrolments. It has helped us improve our admissions process. We have accurate data on hand for students and their enrolments, plus it handles billing. We are also able to manage feedback and student surveys. Their support team is fantastic and very responsive. They work to help you succeed. I've appreciated working with them over this past year. Cons: We had problems with how Classter interfaced with Moodle (our VLE). However, Classter was happy to develop better functionality to improve this. While we have run into some issues (as you will with any product), I have found their support team very helpful to work through and find solutions. Reasons for choosing Classter Better value for what we needed, plus much better functionality for our institution. Reasons for switching to Classter Our old system (not listed) was not fit for purpose. It had limited licenses and no student portal. We also used spreadsheets to manage our admissions process. It has not been easy to find a way to manage our admission process in the best and efficient way but Classter helped us customize a system to manage this. This year it will be the second time we use Classter for admission. We are also very happy with the contact person we have at Classter. He is always supportive and quick to respond. Cons: I wish there was a little bit more flexibility when it comes to features and functions in the student application to support us nurture leads ( sign ups) to submitted application. Even if we are happy with how Classter helped us customize the application based on our needs and wishes ( Classter has been very accommodating and responsive ) the processes of implementing changes/ improvements sometimes feel a bit long and complicated. However we have all the data we need in order to complete admission and that is most essential for us. I also want to point out since we have only worked with Classter for 1,5 year we have not had the time to explore all options and this is something we are continuing discussing and developing as we go of course. At the beginning it was a challenge to overcome the language barrier and to convey the nature of our business model and the requirements associated with it. We are a very particular university with a certain complexity that required many hours of work between the teams of both organizations. However, the availability of the Classter team, especially \[ Sensitive Content \] , was exceptional. The Classter team made sure to adjust the system to our need and implement development to make it work for us. There was a lot of patience and flexibility. On the integration issue, it was one of the biggest challenges, especially with electronic invoicing. The Classter team made sure they had a good understanding of what our regulations were in Costa Rica and delivered a custom development that complied with them. But it was a process that took longer than expected. With the development of custom reports, the experience has not been so good, the reports bring many errors and do not work 100%, something is fixed but another problem arises on the other side. Suggestions: Have teams of consultants and support that speak Spanish. The Latin American market is an interesting market and if they want to grow it would be good to consider having Spanish speaking teams. Include in the initial offer more hours of training and develop it under a more formal process, this would avoid many reprocesses or recurring queries from the customer to the classter support team. The way you have the information organized makes the admission and administration processes much easier. Cons: The adaptation of the system to the business model of the University was a bit complicated, it seems to me that the system was initially created for schools and not for universities, so sometimes we felt it was a bit rigid and did not fit our business model. Reasons for choosing Classter I did not participate in the software selection process. I was hired to implement it. However, the university partners were looking for software that had the following functionalities: Pre-enrollment and online enrollment Fluent and efficient admissions process CRM Student information management Curriculum management Finance and accounting: online invoicing and payment Integration with other management systems Reasons for switching to Classter The system had not been updated for several years and had many limitations to manage the operation of our business. This option was perfect for the needs we had at the time and allowed our educational nonprofit to organize our students with a cost efficient option during these COVID times since many SIS systems are way expensive. The support is quick to answer questions and available when you need them with clear answers. If you go even further and pay for a subscription, it has a function for just about every need if you are willing to pay the increases. Cons: The free version is very limited and shows a very basic interface that can sometimes be confusing or take a bit of time to get the hang of. I hope for a more user friendly interface with a paid/upgraded version, although with practice it is able to be used by everyone regardless of their tech skills. Reasons for choosing Classter It had a free option that we can use while we get back on our feet and have our online classes grow enough to move to the paid option (which we intend to do). This was great for us to learn how the system works on a daily basis and see what options/functions work for us and what don't since it takes time and usage to learn these things from SIS's but most times you don't get this length of a free trial to familiarize your self with it and make sure it is a good decision for your school.
