About Zoho ZeptoMail

ZeptoMail is a transactional email sending service. Transactional emails are the most important emails sent from your business. It acknowledges a transaction between you and your customers. For example, OTP emails, order confirmation emails, password reset emails etc.

Applications and sites can be configured with ZeptoMail using Email APIs or SMTP. ZeptoMail offers separate email streams, email templates, email tracking, WordPress plugin, and user access management to make your transactional emails better than ever.

Main features include:

Email templates: ZeptoMail provides email templates for common types of transactional emails. Choose from the sample templates or create from scratch.
Email tracking: Track recipient activities, like opens and clicks, to improve email performance. ZeptoMail also logs processed emails and offers real-time notifications with webhook configuration.
Access management: Use the advanced user permissions to assign roles to each user. This helps manage which users have access to each Mail Agent and their associated data.

Good for sending transactional mails

If you’re a Zoho One user, ZeptoMail is a no brainer. If you’re not, at 2.50 € per 10,000 emails it’s a very affordable alternative to other vendors on the market.

Pros:

We started using Zoho ZeptoMail back when it was still called TransMail. It’s a useful addition to the Zoho One universe and a great tool if you have a custom developed application that sends out emails. We also use it for WordPress as deliverability is better than with SMTP or phpmailer.

Cons:

There is not much to dislike, it does well what it is supposed to do. The mobile version of ZeptoMail is not that great, so that’s a small minus. I mostly use it on my desktop, so not a big deal.

Very complex and very bureaucratic solution

I know it's a decent solution, but it takes a long time to implement and get the service up and running. Apart from technical limitations and bureaucracy, it is a functional service.

Pros:

Apart from the fact that it is yet another SMTP sending solution and can be integrated with other applications, I found it to be quite technical, horrible support and very bureaucratic to start using.

Cons:

Setup and validation takes forever. I waited almost 1 month for them to validate my account, then they asked for additional information to activate the service. However, during testing everything was simple, after moving from testing to a real application, it was horrible.

Reasons for switching to Zoho ZeptoMail

They take a long time to activate the account, horrible support and ask for more information than usual competing companies.

Cheap service, horrible support

I wouldn't recommend it for projects where email SMTP matters. If you run into an issue, you won't resolve in the next days. For hobby projects or anything that SMTP isn't that important, ZeptoMail is a great cheat choice. You can send emails with 5$ per year.

I am already using Zoho Mail, and it was easy for me to use the Zeptomail SMTP service from the same account. Also, it is really cheap.

Cons:

The support is horrible. If any issue arises, you are left without SMTP service for days, or even weeks.
