Housecall Pro is a cloud-based field service management app for service professionals to automate their workflows. This solution includes a native mobile app and complementary web portal and serves a wide range of industries, such as cleaning, plumbing, electrical, HVAC and more.

Housecall Pro allows companies to forego paperwork in favor of digital automation. It offers features such as job scheduling, dispatching, payment processing, estimates, automated receipts and invoices, customer notifications, company chat, as well as postcard and email marketing automation.

Customers can book services via the HouseCall mobile app, communicate through a centralized messaging system and make online payments.

The mobile app can be accessed on both Android and iOS devices. There is a free version for single owner/operators, which offers many of the core features of the paid version. Premium pricing is based on the number of users, and an enterprise license is also available.

This solution is available across the U.S. and Canada.

They are very friendly and communicative at the outset when they want you money. They will respond to your inquiries within a month.

Cons

Be careful: if the product is not useful to your business they will not refund the activation fee. They should know that a non-service related business, or a service business such as reomdeling, has too few customers to warrant the use of their app.

Overall a good software for a small/growing company.

Pros

Customer service representatives are always available to help in chat. Super easy to use. Able to upload helpful documents/notes/photos to every job. I can see where my techs are at every point of the day and what the duration of each job is. The reporting feature is great and I can customize it using the tag system to get whatever information I need.

Cons

I cannot change the name of the photos I upload so I have to put them in a certain order to figure out which one is which, and it is inefficient.

I highly recommend this software for everyone, if you need a job to be done or if you're offering services. Everything is done online and is very secure.

Pros

Housecall pro is a great product, not only as a business but also as a consumer. You can manadge your business and team from anywhere with your smartphone. It's super easy to communicate with clients and staff and it has crm tools integrated in the software that easier controlling the agenda, reminding clients of your services and keeping track of your progress.

Cons

Transitioning from a traditional business setup, with lots of paper and I formation placed in various forms to this cloud based software takes time and patience. But it's definitely worth it.

Pros

Activities entered into Housecall Pro as an invoice are synced over to QBO very seamlessly. Like the dashboard that shows open and outstanding invoices, job status and time tracking.

Cons

Adjustments are needed at times, but it's pretty simple to make QBO correct, which is where most of the reporting is done. Would like to see the time tracking work more like a time sheet you could use at the end of the week for payroll.

Love this program and would definitely recommend this to any business.

Pros

So simple, clean, and easy to use while still a very powerful software. As a young business manager with a new company, this program allowed me to prove myself with its implementation. Allows for total insight into abstract details of the business with the dynamic dashboard. Complete ease of use, helps me in processing payroll with the clock in/clock out time tracking feature. Customer service chat almost always responds in less than 5 minutes - takes some getting used to for chatting in instead of calling, but honestly, chatting is so much better. Quick responses, no annoying hold music, can do other things while you wait for their response.

Cons

Nothing as of yet. I just finished configuring everything and getting all of our information off of the old program and on to this one, so I will update if/when I have any cons.

The software is Time saver, a great multi tasking tool, creates any report, easy to learn, great lead tracking system.

Cons

Email automation option can only be schedule after the job is accepted the option cannot be used before acceptance of the job therefore there is not good for us that we do a lot of follow up of the estimate, no option to search by estimate or job number directly we have to search for the customer in order to have access to the estimate of jobs

Pros

It's simple to use yet powerful. Our customers love the notifications they receive letting them know we are on the way. We love the ability to set tags and see job and payment status. The chat support from HouseCall Pro has been wonderful. And, their team is always responsive and creative in helping us come up with solutions to our specific business needs.

Cons

We have an extensive inventory list. This took us a while to set up. However, we knew this before making our decision to transition to HouseCall Pro. In the end we're getting a custom catalog. So, it's been well worth the effort.

Our previous system was outdated and offered no customization or detailed history so this makes a big difference. This hit all of our major needs as well as many of our wants. It's simple enough that someone without a lot of tech/app experience can jump right into using it. Their are useful video tutorials if they want more assistance.

Pros

Being able to see customer history is a big thing for us - I can go to the customer and see all of the times we've been out. Seeing real time updates is a huge plus - I can see photos from the job site and notes immediately after our tech submits them in the field which means we can start ordering parts or anything else we need to do right away. Scheduling is easy and our techs get updates on their phone with all of the info they need right away. I like customizing employees photos and colors so visually the schedule is easy to tell who is scheduled before even clicking to get detail. The start and finish button are fantastic. One of the most useful features beyond basic scheduling is job tags and the ability to run reports. I can export our appointment data and sort it so we can really see where our time is being spend and how. Customer support/chat is really helpful.

Cons

There are a few features and functions that we would like that are not currently offered - fortunately they welcome feedback and do take our requests as considerations for future updates

Easy to use, has customer history for previous jobs, google maps easily accessible for navigation, scheduling and payment options are very smooth except 3% credit charge.

Cons

Address from app sometimes comes up as a different house number on google, no debit card payment option and 3% fee deduction from credit transactions.

Cons

To be honest a couple things irritated me like the inability to edit invoice lay out but they allow you to suggest and one for changes which the designers and programmers pay attention to.

The software is easy to learn. I like the way the payments are posted.

Cons

Does not show zip codes or any notes on dispatch screen. It would be great to show zip codes as that is how we schedule. A small description showing would be nice as well.
I do not like that the invoice hits quick books online as soon as the tech marks it finished.
It would be a lot better if it transferred when we do Invoice.

House call pro has been great, for a new business I can honestly look back at define our first year as pre and post “house call pro”. The changes to our business where noticed immediately and it started feeling like we had a working permanent business rather than just a start-up. Would highly recommend, you will not be disappointed with Housecall Pro.

Pros

House call pro has been easy to set up, and user friendly. The staff are prompt to answer questions and have resolved every issue we came across with simple straight forward responses that allowed us to better navigate the features of the software. It has made our business more effetient and taken a lot of stress out of our lives. We feel more productive and our customers have voiced their appreciation of the prompts they receive that is automatically sent out.

Cons

We found we couldn’t book a job for multiple days without individually plugging in the information for each day the job would take.
It doesn’t take to long to do but if the job takes a week and a half it’s tedious to block off that amount of time.

A must-have for any service-based business.

Cons

Massive problem with QuickBooks syncing. Do NOT use Housecall Pro unless you plan on replacing QuickBooks altogether, like we did. HCP can work as a standalone without QuickBooks, but if you need integration we found that HCP was causing random invoice credits/debits to be generated on QBO, Which would be a huge headache to manually correct. HCP says they cant do anything to fix it, due to QBO tech support not being helpful (which is understandable).

It handles the logistics so the owner can focus on sales.

Pros

The businesses that I take care of use HouseCall Pro and have greater than 100% growth each year now making 6 figures profit. It handles the customer inquiry/scheduling/billing and it communicates the Sales side into QuickBooks. Add payroll, use credit cards for most purchases, and half dozen checks and your in business.

Cons

Sometimes visibility can be lost with regards to which invoices make up a particular merchant card services deposit.
