Pushpay Software

Pushpay is a cloud-based online payment solution that helps organizations like schools, churches and education providers to centralize donation data and manage payment operations. Key features include transaction import, donation statement generation and reporting tools.

Users can import data related to funds, transactions and other donations from third-party sources. Additionally, users can upload files through the Pushpay portal and match imported data with available funds.

Pushpay lets users maintain a database of gift entries and donor information including contact details, amounts, payment methods and dates. Donors can also send recurring gifts. Pushpay provides users with giving reports that include the total number of donations, unique donors, new donors and total gift amounts received in a week. The solution offers integration with QuickBooks, Elvanto and MinistryPlatform.

Support is available via an online knowledge base. Pricing is per month, billed annually.

The price is high but the app is good.

Pros

Professional company. The salesperson, onboarding person, and customer service were all very nice. They are pretty responsive when I send an email about a problem I'm having. I've never called.

Our app is professional and modern and has tons of features. We don't even use them all.

Cons

The price. The app is WAY more expensive than any other option out there. We went with pushpay because we heard they are the industry standard. Well I guess you pay for the industry standard. We could get the same features with a little company. I just can't switch our whole congregation again.

Also the designer side of the app is VERY confusing. I have set-up websites, online forms, graphic design, etc. and I struggle to figure out all the little nuances you have to do with the app designer. That would be my #1 area to upgrade if they asked me.

Love it and I tell all my pastor friends how we enjoy it.

Pros

I love how easy it is to give to our church, or any church that is set up. On the side of setting up for different giving options with my church it is super easy and works great! Over 75% of my churches giving comes in on PushPay.

Cons

Can’t really think of anything I don’t like.

Pros

That it can be easily logged into. It is simple to give money through push pay, and for me it always verifies who I am before finalizing my payment

Cons

The verification process can make using the service slower because you have to bounce between a text message and where you were giving.

I believe it encourages generosity in our church because it is incredibly simple. It's not just techies who give through pushpay!

Pros

It is simple to use, either online or by text. The auto withdrawal is invaluable. The daily reports I receive on giving are easy to work with

Cons

They send a lot of emails with a parent organization (I think). I will receive emails from Church Fuel or something that, at first glance, I don't associate with pushpay.

I really enjoy the visual presentation of the overall website. Everything you need to see right in front of you. No messing around and no trying to search for how to give, how much you've given and what account it's being taken out of. I'm all about fewer clicks and will leave a site very quickly. When you want to give or are asking people to give it needs to be as simple as possible. They knock it out of the park.

Cons

I don't have too many negative experiences with Pushpay. I set up my account through my computer and its been very easy to do. Set-Up once and you're good to go. The app doesn't have the best reviews when I looked but again most of what I do is through the computer.

Safety isn't a concern. The UI is so well executed with checkpoints along the way for additional peace of mind!

As a recurring user the need to input a security code for each transaction becomes tedious. Safety was the biggest pro but it is also a con in this case.

It has become easier for donors to give so a much larger percentage of our giving is now online. Online giving saves a great deal of time that would be done processing checks.

Pros

Pushpay is especially easy for our smart phone users.

Cons

The day-to-day support is great, but when we have feedback for improvements, it has taken a long time to get a meaningful response.

Pros

Pushpay offers a fantastic end user experience and simplifies the gift giving process for churches. In addition, the research behind how to push givers to become recurring givers is useful and helpful.

Cons

Pushpay's support has consistently said "great idea, I'll escalate that to our team." While they have implemented several of the changes our team has suggested, it is sad to see how many things they can't do that logically make sense (such as linking a husband and wife so they have one giving account and giving statement).

On a whole, the experience has been a positive one. However, moving forward, we now have specific items we will ask about when inquiring with other businesses to better fulfill our desired experience for users.

Pros

Pushpay has allowed our organization to move into this century. We were behind and now have the capabilities that the younger generations are looking for in terms of interacting with our organization. From electronic giving to development of a mobile app; we are incredible thankful to now be functioning in these areas. And within the app, our favorite function is the ability to send Push Notifications.

Cons

We would love the ability to better update our app from a mobile device. Currently using the web browser on a mobile device is extremely difficult. Even if we had the capability to send Push Notifications alone, that would be helpful. And then, another major frustration is the notifications do not show up on mobile devices as notifications for the app. Users of the app have to search within in the app for Push Notifications, instead of being reminded that they have a notification from our organization with the red bubble with the number of notifications remaining unseen.

Works smoothly. We switched our church body over to it for giving entirely and have had no problems. It was an easy switch that our body never needed any hand holding on the switch. It just worked.

Pros

Mobile app works well and integration into various platforms are a focus in their business plan so no exporting to excel and trying to manipulate everything there.

Cons

Cost. It is a great solution but does cost more than other solutions. You are paying for what you get though so even though it is a con it is needed to provide the great support and solution they have.

We feel a safety and security that we won't experience any sudden issues with our giving whether that be in regards to people not being able to give, glitches, or security when they give.

Pros

If you want a software that makes giving easy to handle behind the scenes, and offers an experience for users that's effortless? PushPay is the option for you. Not only can you give online, but you can give from your mobile device with the touch of one button. They use leading security standards to make sure your accounts are safe from any intrusion. The process of implementation is incredible, they walk with you step by step in moving from other giving platforms and it makes everything feel like a breeze.

Cons

We are currently using F1 as a church and we have integrated F1 with PushPay, this can sometimes cause a headache, but eventually we plan to move from using this integration and use PushPay alone.

The need was to collect payments online. We found that while this tool accomplished taking care of that need, there was more that was required from the process. We needed a better integration with the congregation database, an easier way to send statements, and cheaper processing.

Pros

Does a great job taking payments and making that process easy

Cons

Administrating a church requires a ton of information and input, while this tool does a good job of taking payments, it requires other tools to integrate with it before it can be completely helpful.

We have church members who are not able to attend services every Sunday, or when they are away on business. Pushpay allows them to give their tithe from the ease of their cell phone. Also, not everyone carries cash or check anymore, which this product make a non issue.

Pros

Pushpay has made it easy for our church members to tithe through mobile services such as text to give.

Cons

At this time, I have not experienced an negative aspects of Pushpay.

Pros

We absolutely love this product for paying our monthly church tithes. It has made everything so much easier now that we set it up for a weekly draw on our account and that's it!! Also, if we are wanting to contribute to any other fund at the church they simply add it to the drop down menu and we can easily go in and pay whether we are in church or not. Makes everything much more simple and keeps our tithes on track so that we don't miss any.

Cons

The only con I have noticed is there aren't many people in our church using it right now. I think the 55 and older crowd still prefer to write a check so we haven't seen the full benefits of implementing it just yet. But we are going to set up "stations" at events to have some of the youth set it up for people who might not be as tech savvy.

I like that it makes it easy for others to give their tithe. It's reliable, easy to use, and it's simple, which is exactly what users want when they're getting ready to give their tithe!

Cons

The customer service didn't necessarily help me solve the problem I was having. My account was locked and I was trying to get it resolved, but we weren't able to reach that point. Other than this, I would recommend the product/software!
