Pros

It's so simple and incredibly powerful. Full-out admiring is likely a full-time job, but once your workforce starts using it, they'll be clamoring for it's utility with reporting and managing the lifecycles of other issues.

Cons

The learning curve to be a basic user is as simple as your admin built it. This is important to remember. If your customers are having difficulty using it, you need to own that shortcoming and fix it. No matter how stubborn and personally attached the creator is.

Jira gives you a hand in your projects

Ease-of-use

Functionality

Product Quality

Customer Support

Value for Money

With Jira you can make a good management of projects simultaneously obtaining a good performance while streamlining the process and development, keeping the team up to date on all the reports. It also has prices according to your business need.

Pros

It has a good tracking and task assignment management that improves how the equipment is organized and speeds up the productivity. It has a very comfortable interface although at the beginning it needs to know its functions. You can always finish projects correctly and also make a report in case something happens in the development of the project. Also the reports it generates are many more flexible than other softwares.

Cons

The interface despite being updated and be "better, and agile" I think it is the opposite, it was difficult to find the functions that were already clear where they were located. The learning process is a little slow as well as sometimes the load waiting time.

Ease-of-use

Must use it once to improve project tracking.

Pros

Ease of creating epic, user stories and task.
Flexibility to design workflow project wise.
Flag the progress of task like hold, in progress, complete, ready for review, etc. Hence increase productivity and efficiency.
Provide easy queries to find specific task for flag, time period, etc.

Cons

Need to be very strict with administration as people might change that could impact spaces outside their scope.
Cost for this software is little higher but its still worth working with JIRA.

You can't go wrong with it in general.

Pros

Hegely mature and with a lot of features, flexible, and fits any scenario.

- Configuration can be daunting
- Training is expensive and long (time consuming, can be simplified).

Ease-of-use

Value for Money

Pros

The software is highly customizable, although you can customize various aspects (workflows, fields, user roles, etc.) as much or as little as you would like. It is very reasonably priced, and Atlassian's support is excellent.

Cons

It can be a bit overwhelming due to how much control you have over the functionality. There is a plethora of online documentation in which you can find the solution to almost any question, but it can be difficult to find the documents you need.

Managin Technical Projects The Right Way

Ease-of-use

Functionality

Product Quality

N/A

JIRA has lots of features and functionalities than can take time to master. From most project management applications' perspective, JIRA is one of the most complex to master. But it truly is the most complete in terms of offering development teams all the tools they need. This means that trying to run a fairly large and complex enterprise environment on JIRA might need the addition of a JIRA administrator to keep things organized.

Pros

JIRA offers true Agile support for managing technical projects. Initially developed by developers for developers, JIRA is a powerful tool that captures more than just the project management aspect of any development project.

JIRA offers a complete suite of issue tracking throughout the development life cycle. Starting with the backlog and planning, JIRA lets you layout your entire project across as many iterations (Sprints) as necessary. It provides ease of tracking the project progress and offers a host of tools for collaboration such as commenting threads. Projects and their projects can also be tracked across releases, with its release management capabilities, and provide comprehensive reports on performance and progress.

JIRA is extremely flexible and offers pre-set templates across all functionalities, and allows you to modify them as neededto fit your team and organization's needs. Unlike some products with rigidity built into them, JIRA allows you to define how your team works.

JIRA has a vast number of integrations and add-ons to further enhance its capabilities.

Cons

JIRA is very powerful and very detailed. So much so, that some users often find it quite cumbersome if their development environments are not complex. Essentially, JIRA fits beautifully in any environment, but is extremely robust for enterprise environments, making it perceptively complex in small simple projects.

The experience was good and it helped a lot to segment projects segment projects, track issues.
It is also a important tool for projects using Agile methodology.

Pros

It is a very useful tool for a team following an agile methodology
Automate processes with Jira’s robust set of APIs
It has filters which can be created using its Jira Query Language (JQL)
It can be integrated with Developer tools for end to end tracebility.
It can be used by QAs and Developers.

Cons

1.When a form is embeded outside of JIRA that would upon submitting, create a new JIRA task.
That task when used for submitting a ticket then once the ticket is closed there is no automatic way to inform requester about its resolution.

2. Sometimes small window gets opened if we click on Jira window by mistake sometimes and this is a irritating.

3. There is a 10mb attachment limitation.

I never got to work with it the way I wanted. I found it hard to maintain and painful to setup. I would not recommend it, but I know it is very famous amount Video Game Studios, making it accessible, in a way.

Pros

Jira has a very large community of users and is very famous among many Video Game Studios. It offers a lot of options and a very good support.
It offers a very good deal for very small Studios.

Cons

The licenses are very expensive if you need more than 10 users, there is no "in between", and it makes it a powerful but very expensive tool. On top of that, it's not "hand on", and even if it offers a lot of options, getting it to work for/with you takes time and patience.

Not good enough for what I need it to do. There are some UX issues I have with the overall process flow and it seems more difficult than it needs to be to find anything.

Pros

Its nice that you can identify something as a bug and assign it to people as well as break it down into sprints. Being on a software team the layout is super useful for what we do, and that way we always know what still needs to be done to push something to production.

Cons

It's actually really difficult to find things once they are created. I had created a couple of stories which were each assigned numbers and when I tried to go back and find those stories later they didn't show up on the board. As you move through sprints, things get backed logged and it can be difficult to keep track of where things are at.

Working within dashboards to create a queue for my team's request from other departments has been a game changer.

Cons

JIRA can sometimes be so flexible that it becomes cryptic. My team is one of the less technical users in JIRA, so other teams (like engineering and technical support) who live and die by JIRA often develop processes that become tribal knowledge. The training I have received on JIRA has been minimal which may also help make the experience better in the future as I learn more about the available options.

I have enjoyed using Jira at work. It helps keep our team on the same page and gives insight into what everyone else is doing. My opinion is that they have hit the mark in a big way and they just have some cleanup/maintenance issues to take care of.

Pros

1) Jira is performing well in the industry which results in lots of people integrating with them. The most impactful for us was the integration done with Zenddesk our ticketing system. Our support engineers are able tie Zenddesk tickets to our Jira issues and when issues are updated, so is the Zenddesk ticket. Very Cool!

2) Notifications were very well done in Jira. There is an in-app notification system (A bell in the bottom corner) but they can also be sent via email. They also are very smart about sending you only updates that involve you so that you are not notified too much.

3) Smart task ordering and prioritizing that work well in a development environment.

Cons

Most of the cons that I noticed are rather nit-picky however I believe there is room for lots of improvement.
1) Give for example the sprint page. There is a little star in the upper right corner. If I hover over the star I get a description that says 'Star'. That is not a great description of what that button will do for me. Users are dumb and won't figure things like that out on their own.

2) I think the UI is a tiny bit clunky. I see lots of wasted space here and there. Often times there are things that do not seem that important that seem to take up a lot of space. Also I'm not a big fan of huge collapsable side menus.

3) The many features that are offered in Jira make for a steep learning curve.

Pros

Customized dashboards for users, depending on their usage. Managers for board overviews and team-specific sprints for team members. Lots of data analytics support such as velocity charts to track weekly progress.

Cons

Spam of emails whenever anything is done to the tickets. Also, UI navigation can be difficult if you don't know what to look for. I wish there's better documentation.
