Jira took zero training on my part--it was very easy to learn how to use which was a huge plus compared to a lot of other IT management softwares.

Pros

I love how Jira makes it easy to loop in the necessary parties into a ticket or question. It's also very easy to run and filter reports to see only the information you need. For example, I am an HR professional who is involved in new hire IT setup. I can omit the cases that aren't relevant to me and set up automated reports for easy checks and balances.

Cons

Honestly, I can't really think of anything besides the fact that it's harder to see who made changes to a ticket without looking at the comments. But that's not a huge deal to me, as long as it's done.

We use JIRA for our project management and so far its been great at tracking the different projects and their progress. Staff area able to easily access their project of interest, add comments and information to their tasks. Notifications can be customized for different tasks and reminders sent out for due dates.

Cons

Takes a while to figure out how to use it and all the features it has at first but once you get used to it then its a great tool to use.

It helps me complete my everyday tasks, enabling a great team environment and to keep track of our tasks. It will help you get track of your monthly or even yearly work and when it comes to produce your annual report all information will be there for you to use it.

Cons

When you start using it, you will not want to go back to more traditional methods such as using a white board with paper. Sometimes you need to implement some small features to create integrations with your company software and the API even tough it's huge, it misses in some flexibility here and there.

However, what I particularly like about having a JIRA ticket is that whatever you have been told and documented in a ticket, it there are a written record so your boss cannot say I told you otherwise but by the same token you no longer have an excuse to say no one told you what to do when a JIRA ticket has been assigned to you...

Pros

In one way, we could escape from some task if we said we forgot. Not any more, JIRA tickets that you are assigned will hound you until you resolve them or do your part and pass the hot potato by assigning it to someone else. You boss who is always a watcher can also comment if he/she thinks you are wasting your time or should be working on something of higher priority (helps the boss who loves micromanaging). I particularly like the way you can use epics to pools similar tasks and then make sub-task to link them to other tasks etc.

Cons

It has made most of the places so efficient that before when I worked as an intern, my boss would brief me on what I had to do daily. Nowadays I get a steady list of tasks which I need to sometimes write back and forth before knowing exactly what to do - sometimes a good old fashioned face-to-face would be helpful - so maybe this is a flaw in management rather than the fault of the tool.

It's a solid product that I would still recommend to anyone to looking for a general system for tracking issues, incidents, or other items that workflows can apply to.

Pros

Fairly straightforward, and, once you learn it, easy to make it do what you want. Could apply workflows to any industry.

Cons

A little clunky with the workflows, compared to what I'm used to, and add-ons can fill most any of the gaps that I found, but the add-ons can significantly increase your investment.

Jira is fine. It's a functional support application that lets multiple teams/departments collaborate, and that has been exactly what we needed. But I haven't enjoyed using it, and I dread whenever I need to log in to service a ticket. My team (eLearning and LMS) is all pretty tech-savvy, and I dread to think of what this would be like for people who aren't so up on tech systems.

Pros

Jira allows for a good amount of freedom in assigning tickets, commenting, and follow-up. In a large organization like ours where many departments need to field tickets, having that flexibility is essential.

Cons

Jira is not intuitive, and it's still not intuitive even after you learn it. There just seems to be something about IT applications that requires them to be difficult to use, and Jira is no different. Dozens of menus and dropdowns, a cramped UI, and sometimes vague or absent instructions make this something you'll need to keep notes on.

Overall once you get over the learning curve which is not that bad, but could be better - it is very useful to keep track. I don't like that by default you get an email notification on a bug that is NOT currently assigned to you (it was in the past, so keeps notifiying you until it is resolved)

Pros

It's tracking, and account of history and past transactions is excellent. You back track and get all the details on every stage of every issue or bug that needed to be fixed.

Cons

It requires too much training, it would be nice if it were more intuitive overall and easy to use. We had to have a training session with everyone at the company and there was a learning curve.

I use this product almost every day to keep track of bugs and support requests. I think it's great and easy to use. Searching is fast, however requires some learning curve on syntax. It also includes some special shortcut, which is great.

Cons

I think UI can be better: making it more sleek and modern. Currently, it looks a little outdated.
Syntax should be easier to use, maybe have some cheat sheet and better filtering options.
