Onesait Prism

We perform voltage reduction monthly to reduce our peak demand saving over $35K per month. We use the software to protect our linemen by setting A-switches and hot line tags. We have our system tied to our OMS and MDM for predicting outages.

PROS

Their software is easy to configure and is easily scaled from the smallest to the largest utilities. We are a smaller muni with about 15000 meters and 36 distribution breakers and it fits our needs well. The different features and programs all work together seamlessly. We are able to use some custom programming to work with their Voltage reduction program to integrate it with our TVA requirements. They have made the long need OI improvements to make the displays more favorable.

CONS

The reporting from the historical database is a bit cumbersome. You can get the data out but it is not intuitive and lacking documentation. Documentation as a whole has been much improved over the years but can stand a bit more.

Onesait Prism SCADA Review

Overall a good system. I haven't upgraded to the newest version which is a major change.

PROS

The support is absolutely top notch. As good as I have ever seen. The support staff is by far the biggest asset to the system. [SENSITIVE CONTENT] and [SENSITIVE CONTENT] in particular do an incredible job.

CONS

The system is expensive to own and maintain, particularly upgrade costs.

PROS

There has been improvements with the Designer upgrade, but there are still bugs. We are dealing with a communications issue know and it is very hard to trouble shoot anything on this platform.

CONS

The last upgrade was a nightmare, it took over a year to get completed.
