Pros/Cons
  • Pros

  • This application software is so easy to understand and use and a good replacement for Photoshop. People who are looking for an affordable and better way to design should switch to Affinity.
  • If you are new to design and illustration, Affinity Designer is a great option with a great set of tools that will help you materialize your ideas.
  • The price includes all updates within that version, and it updates enough to maintain user confidence. Overall, my opinion is that if you care about graphics of any kind, this is a tool worth having.
  • Cons

  • There were a couple of features that I used in other softwares that were missing.
  • The only con I have encountered so far is the lack of a button you can hold to switch to colorpicker.
  • If there's any degree of complexity (meaning more than one shape), it's going to be an absolute disaster to work with in Designer.

  • Pros

  • My experience with GIMP is really nice because I have designed a lot of my business graphics using this software. I really love GIMP and I am satisfied with my designing performance now.
  • Gimp is a great and free graphic software that I love. The help community is fantastic and we can find many tutorials, documentation and websites about this software.
  • The most I like about this is the price, the other things is the huge amount of things you can do with it, it is great value for money.
  • Cons

  • The floating windows are unintuitive and the entire user experience suffers for it. Learning your way around the horrible user interface takes time, energy, and most of all thick nerves.
  • Its interface is ugly and I swear, I don't know how people can manage to do some decent work with this program.
  • Another weakness I find is poor text handling. The method of adding and editing text is complicated and unclear; especially when compared to most of today's image editors, both free and paid.
