Vetbuddy

PROS

Ease of access and maintenance of all records in one place.

CONS

Accepting of advance payments is difficult

Vendor Response

Regarding advance payments, we simply use the "Deposit" function. In fact we always require deposit for any major surgery or treatment above a fixed threshold. For hospitalized patients we often require multiple deposits if new diagnostics or treatments are agreed upon with the owner, and we simply book these deposits. We only issue one invoice at the time of discharge, and the deposits are automatically credited against the invoice. Any balance amount is received or refunded at the time of discharge. I hope this is helpful.

Great for clients, vets & managers

Easy to use for all stakeholders. Great support. Ongoing releases of new features. Hard to fault them.

PROS

Straightforward workflows, made all the easier by having user-role specific user-interfaces. Group plans are a real time saver for vets. Client portal provides a useful client engagement opportunity. Accounting software integration and in-built business intelligence reports incredibly useful in management role.

CONS

We never quite cracked client-engagement with the client portal at our clinics but the developers are incredibly responsive to feedback, and I think this is just an indicator that this solution is ahead of the curve and future-ready.

Vendor Response

It is notoriously difficult to get a high rate of usage of the online client portal. Clients tend to forget their password, or just pick up the phone instead of logging in. We try to make the client portal easy and intuitive to use, and we now allow clients to access directly without login if they receive an email from us. As we evolve towards mobile access we expect higher rates of online client engagement.

A great software

If you are looking for a holistic software that enables you to manage your entire veterinary business, no matter what the location, then Vet Buddy is the perfect option. This web based application has transformed the manner in which we are able to manage our entire operation from any remote location. The software is easy to use and requires very little training to get started. It is comprehensive, and is packed with features to cater for almost any requirement. The team at Vet Buddy is dedicated and prompt in their responses to any query. A must for anyone looking to take the next step in improving their veterinary business.

PROS

It is scalable. Perfect for practices that are expanding to multiple locations. Wide features.

CONS

Takes some time to get used to, but great customer support.

Vendor Response

I share your view that VETbuddy is perfect for a clinic group that is expanding to multiple locations. Getting up and running becomes easier for each new clinic you add because most of the items, settings and templates are identical, yet you still have the flexibility to set different prices if that is required. It becomes very easy to share or transfer patients, stock items and doctors between clinics using automated processes.

Veterinary practice management

This is definitely helping us to make clinic flow as we wanted and reports are really good, way to observe professional productivity of staff and way pets been treated. Being products also can be billed so this give us a single solution for all requirements. Great experience overall.

PROS

This software gives few very nice features like history form and exam form can be designed the way we want as per clinic requirement Really good for multiple locations Templates are there for different forms and this gives a pet parent parent portal along with is really great feature.

CONS

This software can have some colour coded clickable items for more easily understand the workflow. But not really a great drawback but this can make this software very presentable.

Vendor Response

Regarding work flow we found it very helpful to prepare a few core protocols that define our core business rules, and how they are applied to the VETbuddy workflow. Concerning Billing, we defined how to use the Plan Builder, the definition of Carting a product or service, and rules around consolidated Invoicing at the time of discharge. The workflow concerning each visit and the creation of medical records to match each unique complaint is also important to define. Workflow concerning stock control is another very important area, which require quite a lot of effort to manage on a daily basis, but once it running the benefits are significant in terms of minimizing out of stock incidents.

Happy With Vetbuddy

Discipline, Helps stop leakages in the clinic. Easy access to EMR helps to send it to clients or to the referrals.

PROS

Being cloubased can access from anywhere. Helps all memebers of the healthcare team to stay in same page as every one has follow SOAP.

CONS

Following SOAP demands descipline. Initially some may feel a bit tideous to work but in short time one gets used to it.

Vendor Response

Being cloud-based is truly a godsend. Being able to access VETbuddy from any PC or mobile device at any time is very convenient for pet owners, doctors and hospital managers. Being able to view live information in real time is invaluable. Once in a while we lose our internet connection, but it was easy for our clinic staff to continue the clinical work using pen and paper, and then updating the records once we are back online. Just remember to keep an up to date pricing file which you can download or print out from VETbuddy from time to time, so you know what to charge the clients if your are off line.
