### About Google Meet

Google Meet is a video conferencing app. It is the business-oriented version of Google's Hangouts platform and is suitable for businesses of all sizes. The solution enables users to make video calls with up to 30 users per high-definition video meeting.

The app allows users to join pre-scheduled meetings from calendar events, choose a link, enter meeting code and even dial in from their phones if the invitation includes a phone number. Google Meet integrates with G Suite versions of Google Calendar and Gmail and shows the complete list of participants and scheduled meetings. It shows a "join" button for users to connect to the meeting and provides options to mute and turn off the video during the meeting.

Google Meet allows users to dial in phone numbers to access meetings, thus enabling users with slow or no internet connection to call in. However, dial-in numbers are only available to the G Suite enterprise edition customers.

## Google Meet Pros and Cons

We analyzed 12,171 verified reviews for Google Meet to find out what actual users really think.

Select to learn more

Simple And Intuitive Interface

Google Meet is praised for its straightforward, user-friendly design that requires no installation and works across devices. Even users with little technical experience can easily join or host meetings, navigate features, and access calls directly from a web browser or Google Calendar.

High-Quality Video Conferencing

Google Meet delivers reliable, high-quality video and audio for virtual meetings, supporting large groups and offering features like screen sharing and recording. Its integration with Google Workspace and intuitive interface make it easy to join, host, and manage video calls for business, education, or personal use.

Integrated Chat And Collaboration

Google Hangouts is tightly integrated with Gmail and other Google services, making it easy to chat, share files, and start video or audio calls directly from your inbox. It supports group messaging, syncs conversations across devices, and enables quick communication with contacts worldwide.

Dependent On Strong Connectivity

Google Meet's performance relies heavily on a stable, high-speed internet connection. Users experience lag, dropped calls, and reduced video or audio quality when bandwidth is low, making meetings difficult in areas with unreliable connectivity or limited data plans.

Limited And Inconsistent Messaging

Messaging features in Google Meet and Hangouts are basic, with issues like unreliable notifications, limited search, and lack of advanced options such as reactions or read receipts. Users often miss messages or find chat management cumbersome, especially across devices.

Restrictions And Call Limitations

Phone call functionality is limited by time restrictions on free plans, occasional dropped calls, and a lack of advanced features like call recording or conference calling. Users also report confusing call histories and difficulties switching devices or managing large group calls.

All in all the experience with Google Meet is quite positive not that bad. It is value for money as it provides almost all the essential features required in a video meeting or conference. Although there are minor bugs and glitches, like voice or video lags. Overall it is reliable platforms for virtual meetings.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

Google Meet is simply the best video meeting tool that I've used so far. It's interface is simple and user friendly. It provides some amazing features like virtual background and background blur which helps maintaining privacy while working from home. During my teaching period it made managing students easy as it allows admitting or muting the participants easily and sharing screen to deliver lectures efficiently.

#### Cons

Customer support is very limited for free users which makes it hard to have personalized assistance. Also Meet itself does not provide much built-in file managing options or features during the meetings. Although it works well with Google Drive in integration for sharing files.

My overall experience with Google Meet has been very positive. It is easy to use, reliable, and convenient for connecting with colleagues, classmates, friends, and family. Joining meetings is straightforward, and the video and audio quality are generally clear and consistent. I especially appreciate useful features such as screen sharing, chat, and seamless integration with other Google services. The simple interface makes it easy to navigate without a steep learning curve. Overall, Google Meet has made virtual communication and collaboration much easier and more efficient. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a dependable and user-friendly video conferencing platform.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Google Meet provides an excellent and reliable video conferencing experience. It is easy to use, with a clean interface that makes joining and hosting meetings simple. The video and audio quality are generally clear, and features like screen sharing and chat make collaboration convenient. I also appreciate how well it integrates with other Google services, making it especially useful for work, school, and personal communication. Overall, Google Meet is a dependable, user-friendly, and efficient platform for virtual meetings. I would strongly recommend it to anyone looking for a convenient way to connect and collaborate online.

#### Cons

One drawback of Google Meet is that some advanced features are limited depending on the plan you use. Free users may have fewer options for longer meetings, recording, and meeting management compared with paid plans. This can be inconvenient for users who need more advanced tools for professional or large-scale meetings. While Google Meet is simple and reliable for everyday video calls, users looking for a full range of advanced collaboration features may need to upgrade to a paid plan.
