Google Meet Software


 

Google Meet is a video conferencing app. It is the business-oriented version of Google's Hangouts platform and is suitable for businesses of all sizes. The solution enables users to make video calls with up to 30 users per high-definition video meeting.

The app allows users to join pre-scheduled meetings from calendar events, choose a link, enter meeting code and even dial in from their phones if the invitation includes a phone number. Google Meet integrates with G Suite versions of Google Calendar and Gmail and shows the complete list of participants and scheduled meetings. It shows a "join" button for users to connect to the meeting and provides options to mute and turn off the video during the meeting.

Google Meet allows users to dial in phone numbers to access meetings, thus enabling users with slow or no internet connection to call in. However, dial-in numbers are only available to the G Suite enterprise edition customers.

Pros

This is basically a free version of a software like zoom. All the capability and its free from google which makes it pretty easy for anyone to use instantly.

Cons

There is no con to using this, just plug and play and make it happen. If you hold phone meetings and have a mic just go for google meetings, its more convenient and causal!

Great to get a bunch of people together without having to meet in the same room. Life can be busy, the day at the office can be hectic, by using google meet you can schedule a meeting time for everyone to get together over video conference.

Cons

Ensuring that you have good WiFi in the building is a must, or an unlimited data plan to ensure no data charges for using the service. If the office has spotty WiFi it could lead for a frustrating experience.

Google Meet has made virtual meetings with potential clients so much simpler. As we have a large number of clients and board members involved in meetings, Google Meets can handle all of us on the one call and allows for better communication.

Cons

As it is a relatively new product, all of the functionality isn't there. Using it as is definitely works but looking forward to seeing additional features Google adds in the future.

Sometimes calling a meeting is like herding cats, getting everyone in one place at the same time is a task. With Google meet you I can call a meeting with my reps no matter where they are. also the meeting will go straight to their google calendar so there is no excesses.

Cons

I don't like that I need to create a google number in order to call a meeting. I should be able to use my number or a temporary number.

Google Meet has been great for me. I was able to feel confidence that a large and difficult project could he done with someone overseas because of this app.

Pros

Very easy user interface with multiple ways to chat, talk and link up with overseas business associates.

Cons

People have just massively migrated to whatsapp who are overseas. This is a con for them but not for the functionality.

Simple and well thought out like all of G-Suite

Ultimately I'm a big google fan and will be using G-Meet for all my calls and collaborations on our projects as some individuals live out of state.

Pros

Pretty happy with how simple and easy it is to use. I needed something more reliable and haven't had too many hiccups yet. I mostly use it for conference calls and find it extremely helpful to be able too share calendars and see availability when setting up a call. File sharing is a breeze, love how I can see all the changes made and stay up to date when multiple individuals are working on the same project.

Cons

Simple is good and bad. Wishing there was a little more flare to some of their features to beef up my presentations. Again easy is the best but sometimes that cuts out the enhancements.

Google tends to have quite a few amazing products. Google meet is great for when I am traveling and need to keep in touch with my coworkers or meet with new potential clients.

Cons

Just like any software there is some kinks. Minor but to run more smoothly I think efforts to make it easier to join meetings and minor issues with occasional sound. Doesn't happen every time but once in awhile.

I've heard there is a cap for 50 people but at this time it really doesnt matter to me since we never host meetings larger than that.

Clean interface, easy to set up. Easy to join and use. Reasonably smooth optimisations for poor internet connections. If you buy into the Google ecosystem, you can use Chromecast at a touch of a button.

Cons

Only supports conferencing for 50 people at a time, making it unsuitable for large enterprise presentations.

I didn't have to setup email server in house nor required system administrator to manage email and file server.

Pros

Like any SAAS app it doesn't require to host your internal Server and work on cloud.
15 gig default space for each user help manage Emails, Sheets, docs, images, documents all in one place with one sign In.

Cons

Menu items and icons are sometime unrelated.
Two factor authentication can not be enabled by admin and enforcing it disabled the user to activate it if he/she doesn't configured it earlier.
You can not restrict certain user to use it within the office premises or whitelisting the IP to secure your company data being presented and accessed from anywhere.

I recommend G Suite for any business getting started or looking for an alternative to your current business software. The value is unmatched.

Pros

The value you get with G Suite is just the best in the industry. The amount of tools and functionality are almost overwhelming. And it's so cheap. I've started several small businesses and G Suite is my go to for business software. And the guidance during the setup process is really great.

Cons

I'd like if they bundled users instead of paying for each user. Having tiered levels would be much more effective for me.

It just works. I never have to worry about it after the set up. There are so many features, most that never get used, but it's nice to have the option.

Cons

The cost is the only thing I would say, but it's well worth the price. It would sometimes be nice to talk to someone on the phone about issues but I haven't been able to find that number.

It is Wi-Fi based so you have to ensure that you are receiving a good strong signal in order to maintain the video portion. You may not be able to see the presenter however you will still be able to hear

for a small agency in Africa like ours, Google suite with its plethora of apps and integrations enables us to find really great templates, tools and administer them to our clients. the ease of use can be tricky at start as we try to understand and apply tools to our business but after a while, you get the hinge of it and everything becomes easy.

Cons

there is still a complicated part of it not for the non-technical but these parts/functions are too important to be ignored.

I've been using Google G Suite since it's beta introduction. It has evolved quite impressively to a comprehensive, full blown, accessible set of applications for everyday user as well as business and power users

Mainly:
- It's fully easy to use
- Accessible over the web
- Plenty of features that were normally only on desktop solutions
- Secure

Cons

I found RTL (Right-to-Left) support a bit limited, maybe even buggy. Also, Arabic language support isn't yet well developed

Quick and easy employee access and administration

Pros

It's incredibly easy to set up and add/remove users from your company. Central administration is just a few clicks and you're on your way. Adding new employees and their access is a 30 second process, as well as removing them.

The interface is intuitive and modern, which makes you feel like you're really getting your money worth

Cons

There's nothing to really complain about. I know it doesn't fit the needs of every company, but for us (5 employees) it is the perfect fit for now.

The ability to collaborate on documents with my team has been instrumental in keeping us organized. It is also very convenient having everything in one place. I don't have to go a dig for file hidden somewhere in the deep recesses of my computer.

What I like best about the applications on G Suite is the fact that they all allow for easy collaboration among several people. It may not be the best for formatting documents (there are no advanced tools for that), but it is definitely the best for when you need multiple people working on the same document.

Cons

It is not the best for when you need to format document. There are no advanced options, and the formatting may not work best when exporting or importing to/from other sources.

We haven't had to hire an IT manager because G Suite makes it so simple to manage email addresses, email signatures, shared calendars, etc. Most people already know how to use Google products so this make transitioning for new hires very simple. Calendar syncing directly to phones works perfectly with Google Calendar.

Cons

We haven't figured out how to make a standard company signature line without having to set this up on each individual email account by copying and pasting the desired signature line. It would be great to edit the logos / wording in the signature line 1 time and have it adjust across all email accounts, but right now if we edit the signature line we have to access each and every email address and manually change it.

We were able to bring our entire team together on many levels. Document sharing and collaboration and the ability to link to files from almost anywhere makes this a no-brainer for most businesses.

Pros

G suite integrates with almost everything and offers a comprehensive solution to messaging, calendaring, document, spreadsheet and presentation collaboration. Working collaboratively internally allows us to avoid costly file servers or the risk of file corruption when multiple people edit and save a file at the same time. Most SaaS software has a native g Suite integration.

Cons

There is almost nothing to complain about this platform. While the documents, sheet and presentation software lack a little bit from their Microsoft based counterparts, I am willing to deal with this because the ease of collaboration.

Google Calendar alone make G Suite apps totally worth it. Sharing various calendars related to the different areas of our organization makes it possible for us to collaborate about when/where/what needs to be used around our facility. As a software, it's OS agnostic, so everyone can use it on their phone/computer/tablet/watch/whatever. The apps are powerful and easy to use.

Cons

Not much to speak of here. I've tried other calendars, mail clients, and "free" office software. None of them stack up.
