A Review From A Google Meet User

Overall, Google Meet does deliver high-quality videos and audio, giving a straightforwards user-friendly platform for everyone to use.Whether you are an individual or a business, its interface and many features make it easy to navigate. Hosting Virtual Gatherings have never been easier.

PROS

The first thing I like about Google Meet is its high quality video and audio quality. No matter where i find myself, it has never failed me when talking to my family, friends or clients. For a writer like myself who works remotely, its important to have a reassuring and reliable app that meets not just my needs, but that of my customer's too.To me, another reassuring feature is the ability to Live stream and send it to YouTube via Google Meet. In this day and age, it would be a lie to say I haven't thought of starting a YouTube channel. With Google meet, its made simpler. I also appreciate the Screen Sharing and Meeting Recording features. For meetings and guidance training, it always proves effective as it allows me follow the speakers words and deeds efficiently during and even after a meeting has ended. On my own, i can watch the recording and follow along.Lastly, it allows me integrate with other apps like Google Calendar and Google Drive, aiding me in scheduling my appointments taking into consideration whatever was spoken in the meetings or conferences. With the Drive, everyone can access shared files easily.

CONS

The most striking con will have to be the fact that whenever i invite people to join, when they finally get on the app and lgn, they still have to ask again before eventually joining. It would be great if they just entered the meeting with any additional hassles.

Reasons for switching to Google Meet

Google Meet is the most-used for my family. Additionally, it offers more features than Zoom.

Hangouts- not all good

My negatives happen to be that Google hang out sometimes can be distracting especially since we have been teaching virtually and the students will you think they’re paying attention to you on zoom or whatever but they’re not because they are in Google hangouts chatting with each other. This is where I have my negativity comes in because I can’t get them out of the chats and I can’t control the chats like I would like to be able to. I don’t like to be one of those teachers that says no but they need to be focusing on me during class time and not on their Google hangouts.

PROS

I have to say I have mixed review about Google hangouts. When I first found out about the Google hangouts I was really excited about it and I introduced her to my students. It was working great they could do projects together after school they could meet each other and chat about some thing they could find out what the homework was things like that also I am it really works during the COVID-19 because they can’t get together and work next week on there but they can chat to each other on the Google hangouts. With all of that sad I am I also like to use it for my colleagues and to reach out real quick and touch base. But I guess I’ll put the negatives in the con box because I do have negatives.

Google Meet Meets the Daily Grind

Honestly, there isn't anything that Google Meet can't handle for your small business or large company. Effortlessly go live, effortlessly stream presentations/meetings/interviews/chats/etc. It's user-friendly and incredibly easy to get anyone in on any meeting at any time.

PROS

The ability to go live within an instant and effortlessly stream our daily meetings with staff and potential outside guests as necessary

CONS

The chat features and the text getting lost if there were notes for meetings, but we've circumvented that

Reasons for switching to Google Meet

Google Meet effortlessly seamed to our Google Suite of products and was the easiest of the options.

Simplify Your Virtual Meetings with Google Meet

As an intern in the pharmaceutical product development and research department at the University, I had the opportunity to use Google Meet to collaborate with my research team. The platform proved to be extremely useful for our virtual meetings, as it allowed us to communicate effectively and share important information in real-time. The screen sharing option enabled us to review and edit documents together, enhancing our productivity. The audio and video quality were excellent on most occasions, enabling us to discuss and debate effectively. Overall, Google Meet was a valuable tool for our remote collaboration and made a positive contribution to our work in the pharmaceutical research department.

PROS

Google Meet offers several significant advantages. Firstly, its seamless integration with other Google applications such as Gmail and Google Calendar makes scheduling and accessing meetings effortless. Additionally, its intuitive and user-friendly interface allows users to join or initiate meetings with just a few clicks, without requiring a steep learning curve. The audio and video quality are generally excellent, even on low-speed connections. Moreover, the ability to screen share and collaborate in real-time on Google documents provides an effective collaboration experience. Lastly, the option to record meetings and save them in Google Drive is extremely useful for future reference and for those who couldn't attend in real-time.

CONS

While Google Meet offers many advantages, it also has some limitations. One of them is that some advanced features like background blur and video effects are only available in the paid version, which can be a disadvantage for users on a tight budget. Additionally, although the audio and video quality is generally good, there may be connectivity issues and delays in areas with poor internet connections. Some users have also mentioned that the automatic voice detection doesn't always work accurately, leading to unwanted interruptions during meetings.

Reasons for switching to Google Meet

I would choose Google Meet over these alternatives due to its seamless integration with other Google applications, which makes scheduling and accessing meetings easier. Additionally, Google Meet's intuitive and user-friendly interface makes it easy to use for those who are not familiar with other video conferencing platforms. The ability to collaborate in real-time on Google documents is also a significant advantage for those working in environments where Google Workspace tools are widely used.

Google meet is easy peasy

I'm not that good at technology so the easiest tool with the best benefits will receive my attention and my money. Google Meet is easy to use in my business since I work with online classes and all my business is on the Internet.

PROS

It’s connected with my agenda, generating automatic links to my students and reducing a significant amount of my time scheduling manually. The sharing screen has improved, you can kinda see the other people AND the shared screen. This makes a huge difference at meetings.

CONS

You cannot register the chat. if you leave the call and come back again you lose the chat. Or, if you come after the meeting has started you will not see the chat. It would be great if we had a way of saving and liberating the chat for people that come after the beginning.

Reasons for switching to Google Meet

It worked better on my computer about system's heaviness and the time of free meetings.

Google Meet Video Conference Successful

Google Meet is the best product for video conferencing, it is reliable, with a user-friendly interface, with valuable tools for uploading documents and multimedia. It allows us to communicate with the group we need remotely from anywhere and with excellent quality. I highly recommend it. Five stars.

PROS

It is a fantastic tool for video conferences with our study groups, family or business groups. From anywhere and in a very simple way in the scheduling of meetings. It is fast, intuitive, friendly and beautiful interface.

CONS

The only thing that the creators of the software can improve, is the loading time of the videos in the presentations, since; in some moments it slows down or loads in a time more than the estimated. Otherwise I haven't had any problems.

Reasons for switching to Google Meet

I did some research and read some great features on Meet. I switched and it was a great decision.

Google Hangouts is the Place to Be!

I love Google Hangouts! It's how my team connects on a daily basis and is so easy to access and utilize. It's super user friendly and very streamlined.

PROS

This is literally the easiest chat and video conference platform, period. It truly puts other software to shame, to the point where it's hard to fathom that companies spend money on specific software to connect in this way when Hangouts is free with G-Suite and super reliable. I love that you can be on or off camera, you can readily mute yourself before even hopping into the hangout, and that it switches the view to the active speaker so that you never have to scroll or click through to see who is talking.

CONS

Sometimes, like with other Google products, it can seize up my Chrome browser. However, this is momentary and the lag will cease after a couple of seconds and allow me into the Hangout chat.

Reasons for switching to Google Meet

Fuze was constantly dropping, lagging, freezing, and had a limit on the number of people that were able to join. It was honestly TERRIBLE for my company and the quick connections we needed to be making efficiently.

Great option for communication!

Very satisfied! This allows me to stay up to date with colleagues and stay on the same page regarding projects and tasks. We tried other platforms, but given Hangouts integration with G Suite, this is hands down the best option.

PROS

Hangouts is a fantastic option for online communication with teams or individuals. Here's what I like the most: - It's a standard app in the G Suite platform so everything works with your Gmail/Drive account. There's no need to learn a new system or create a separate login. If you have a Gmail account, your good to go for free. - Integration of G Suite files is seamless and effortless. - All chat history is saved, so you can go back and review communications if you need to check on something. - The user interface is clean and user-friendly. - It's incredibly easy to learn to use. Not a steep learning curve. - You have the ability to set up contact groups/teams for special purposes. - Reliable - As long as you have a decent connection, audio and video chat is reliable and works well. - Works across devices - laptop, tablet, phone!

CONS

It lacks a few advanced features that competitors offer, but given that it's free with Drive and all that Drive offers, this is hardly a complaint. This may not be suitable for online meetings involving multiple people in places.

Reason for choosing Google Meet

The price and integration with G Suite were the major reasons.

Easy To Use Video Conferencing Tool

Using Google Hangouts Meet software I am able to stay connected with my employees and my business partner when working remotely. So, my website content, products inventory and customer complaints continue to be addressed while I am not physically present in my brick and mortar apparel store. The best part is the fact that I don't have to pay a subscription fees or maintenance fees. Hence, my ROI is high. If I face any issues with the software, I am able to find plenty of support in Google portal and other blogs.

PROS

I need to stay connected with my employees in store and business partner when I am working remotely from my home or hotel. Google Hangouts Meet software enables me to be in touch. So I can discuss any content changes on my e-commerce website, new order processing or answer any customer questions or complaints with products purchased. My favorite features include screen sharing and setting-up a new meeting using Google's calendar which is integrated into my Gmail account. Because I can share my computer screen to show to my employees specific product pages on website which need to be updated. And, quickly set-up a call with my business partner for quarterly review of our business profits and losses.

CONS

I struggle with two specific features of Google Hangouts Meet when using them to connect and collaborate. First, the share screen feature. It doesn't work until I double-click in step 2. In step 1, I click 'screen share' and then I have to complete step 2. Second, after the video conference starts, I hear participant's voice echo. Or, screen multiplying. So, I have to ask the participant to mute. Or, I have to ask the participant to click join Hangout once and then screen share or disconnect and join the hangout call again. These two challenges with Google Hangouts Meet cause confusion and reduce productivity of calls.

Reason for choosing Google Meet

I chose Google Hangouts Meet over GoToMeeting because it has no license fees to use the software, is able to provide all audio and video conferencing features to stay connected with my employees and business partner. So, I can keep my apparel business running smoothly and efficiently even when I am not physically present in my brick and mortar store. I have been able to lift my product revenue and margins using Google Hangouts Meet which has allowed me to provide healthy compensation and benefits to my employees.

Classic Google Simplicity & Basics

No software gets an A+ because there is always room for innovation and improvement but Meet comes very close. From adding a Google Meet video conference to a client invitation to simply joint and being on a call with the company, the ease of use is unparalleled.

PROS

I use Meet everyday both internally and externally and I do that simply because I am able to schedule and include a link to the video chat with a single click and the recipient is presentee with an invitation link with no additional steps except to join in. Ease of use is off the charts with this video conference option and I wouldn't be able to go back to another service that had so many additional steps, Clients would just opt to not show up.

CONS

The absolute only thing Google really needs to focus on improvement wise with this software is the background noise it transmits. A lost of other higher end web clients will remove background noises like interfere or echoing but I do hear it fairly often within Meet.

Reasons for switching to Google Meet

For us it was a cost option. We couldn't justify the pricing for the amount of team mates we had at the time and at this point I doubt we would be moving away from Google Suite any time soon.

Google Meet is the best choice for a free video-conferencing service

Google Meet is the best choice if you're seeking for a free video-conferencing service for lengthier meetings. Due to the limited time available with Zoom, I will need to cut meetings in half.

PROS

The duration of a call with Google Meet is unrestricted. However, beginning in March 2021, Google will limit meetings to 60 minutes. There is a real-time captioning technology in Google Meet. As a result, it is simple to understand what other meeting attendees are saying. Non-native speakers and persons with hearing difficulties will benefit from this resource. This information is only available in English, so keep that in mind. Google Meet allows users to search for and utilize a large number of emoticons as well as GIFs. They can be used by anyone at any moment throughout the talks. All data communicated in Google Meet is encrypted by default. This platform adheres to IETF security guidelines. Small and medium-sized enterprises face a number of cybersecurity concerns, but Google Meet provides privacy and security during video conferencing. 2SV, security keys, Google Prompt, SMS, and Google Authenticator can all be used to protect your account. Enroll in the Google APP for added protection and privacy (Advanced Protection Program).

CONS

I can't record their video sessions on Meet's free plan. I may, however, capture and keep them on Google Drive if I have a business plan. Google Meet allows up to 150 people to join the discussion, however video calls are limited to 25 people at a time. This video conferencing service provider is ideal for people who are in a small group or simply want to talk to a few family members or acquaintances. Participants who do not have a Google account are unable to join the meetings, eliminating the potential of anonymous attendees. There is a gap in Google meet when it comes to tracking and statistics. I'm unable to change the background of the screen. Even the Google Meet app lacks the Touch Up My Appearance tool, which is a skin smoothing filter that improves your appearance when making video chats.

Additionally, the ability to add up to 100 participants in a single call and the option to mute/unmute and record meetings for later review are also highly valued features.I also appreciate the flexibility offered by Google Meet, as it can be accessed from any device, including desktops, laptops, and mobile devices. The interface is considered to be straightforward and user-friendly, making it easy for users to navigate and find the features they need. Additionally, the integration with other Google services, such as Google Calendar and Gmail, allows users to easily schedule and manage meetings, further streamlining the process.Overall, I find Google Meet to be a valuable tool for remote communication and collaboration, particularly in today's world where more people are working and communicating from home. This flexibility makes it easy for people to participate in meetings from anywhere, at any time. The platform supports up to 100 participants, which makes it ideal for larger meetings and webinars. Finally, Google Meet provides excellent security features, including encrypted meetings and the ability to control who can join. This security is essential for sensitive information and discussions, and users appreciate the peace of mind that comes with knowing that their conversations are protected. In conclusion, Google Meet is an exceptional video conferencing software that has a lot to offer its users. With its ease of use, high-quality audio and video.

CONS

I often express frustration with the limited screen sharing capabilities, lack of customisation options, difficulty in navigating and finding features, and the occasional glitches or technical difficulties during meetings. Some time i also dislike the restrictions on recording and playback, as well as the limited virtual background options. Additionally, some I find the interface and user experience to be clunky and unrefined, and feel that the software could benefit from further development and improvement. Despite these drawbacks, however still I consider Google Meet to be a valuable tool for remote communication and collaboration.

Reason for choosing Google Meet

I choose Google Meet over Zoom Meetings & Skype because of its seamless integration with other Google services, ease of use, and excellent audio and video quality. The ability to add up to 100 participants in a single call and the option to mute/unmute and record meetings for later review are also highly valued features. Additionally, Google Meet's ability to run on any device and its user-friendly interface makes it a popular choice for remote communication and collaboration. The software's widespread accessibility and reliability also make it a top choice for users.

One of the best options for group calls and online chats

Hangouts gives a fast and efficient communication setup for its users, allowing them to contact clients, coworkers, and friends easily and efficiently, with very few drawbacks. It is one of my primary communication tools with coworkers, and I will probably keep using it as such for long into the future.

PROS

It is probably the easiest and most reliable online chat app, in both computers and cellphones. It allows you to make free calls to other hangouts users anywhere and at anytime, and with multiple recipients at the same time, which is great for conferences and also more informal calls between friends and family. It provides some great customization features regarding devices used, as well as video quality, which allows you to lower the quality of video sent and received in case that your internet speed is not high enough for HD conversations, which is a great feature to have under any circumstance. Hangouts also provides a service that allows you to call cellphones or landlines directly, even if they have no affiliation to hangouts, which is a great feature, especially for contacting family members who might not be as good with technology as the average person. Overall it is very practical, the menus are simple and easy to follow, and it only requires a google account to use, so it is very practical and easy to grasp for new users.

CONS

It has a few less options regarding videocalls than some other softwares. For example, it doesn't give you the option of setting up the cameras in group calls so that you can see all the callers equally, but rather prioritizes whoever is talking. This works well in organized discussions, but is not so great for more informal calls.
